  1. Let's just have this thread to support this person in their journey. If you want to have a debate about the rights and wrongs of alternative medicine, start your own thread. The sniping and bickering is just pointless.
  2. Hi, I moved back to UK from Portugal... In the craziness of the move, I forgot to get a repeat prescription from my Portuguese neuro. I cannot get it (or Clonazepam) from my doctor in UK, even though i have a letter from my neuro in Portugal. Trying to find a proper neuro here. I will go see my neuro in Portugal in April and hopefully he can provide me with a 6 month refill.
  3. Silva... If you set your GoPro to "Narrow" mode, you don't get the fisheye. We film alot of nature stuff mainly, for my business. Same with photography:
  4. Photography, filming, music (playing and listening), surfing, bodyboarding, football (soccer). Me and my brother just bought one of those helicopter drones that carry a camera, so that is taking up most of my time now.... amazing Here is our first test -
  5. boa sorte em Brasil! Good luck, hope it goes well..... Making such a brave and big life change will help too.
  6. LarryC... I think he meant everyone but you thought that he wanted to take it.
  7. There are lots of things that are good for anti-depression that completely fuck up hppd sufferers, SSRIs are the perfect example. Mr50, you need to understand that if you post on here about taking mind bending drugs.... even if your intentions are good, you will likely get shot down , unless you worded things perfectly. I've read the original post back a few times and it still sounds a little like you wanted to try it out under the guise of being potentially good for you. Coupled with some of your other posts about being better, it is easy to see how people thought this.
  8. Ket is one of the strongest drugs i've ever tried, 2nded only by Salvia for complete out of body mind fuck. Stay clear.... Magic mushrooms, lsd etc are also touted as having anti depression, anti anxiety effects.... Goes without saying that we shouldn't be trying them again though... Same with Ket.
  9. I find 2-3 beers and i don't have any anxiety the next day.... more than that and I need 1mg of klono for anxiety, but I figure it is ok to have a bit of fun occasionally... But I am trying very hard now not to actually get drunk and have a proper hangover/anxiety bout.
  10. It's very difficult, a life sentence for some of us (18 years in). Be thankful you got 27 years of normality.... I got the early stages of this shit when I was 15 and full meltdown at 17... I've not lived a day of my adult life knowing what normal is and drugs have also stripped me of most of my memories before. BUT...... Life does go on, I am married, own my own business working form home, travelled the world and lived in a foreign country for 11 years. It is still dripped in anxiety and mental illness, but it is an interesting life, none the less. Keep on fighting.
  11. I take them in the morning... I often get insomnia in the week.... But I always did anyway. Melatonin sometimes helps. aside from an actual cure, i really do think this is the way to go.... Minimal chance of addiction or even tolerance, a nice long weekend and occasional "vacations". It all boils down to how much will power you have though.... Very easy to think, "ahh, i'll just have one more benzo today and have an extra day off later on"
  12. This has been my routine for 4-5 years now. Varies a bit, but basically: Fri - 1mg Sat - 0.5mg Sun - 1.5mg This gives me a nice, long weekend with less anxiety and visuals. It also allows me to have a few beers on Thursday and Saturday without anxiety the next day.... Not recommended, but all part of making my own life a little more fun and happy. Once every 4-6 weeks, I will go 1 week without any benzos, just to make sure my system is clear and tolerance/addiction doesn't build. If I go on vacation, i will have 1mg or 1.5mg every day for up to 3 weeks.... Then have 2 weeks off benzos completely.
  13. It does seem that alot of people sign up, report mild/moderate symptoms and tend to leave after a couplle of months.... Take from that what you willl, but i do think a good percentage get better once they stop taking drugs. Especially cases from weed. ps - i'm not in any way belittling such cases, just saying what i have seen from the 5 or so years i've been using this forum.
  14. Do what you did before, stay sober, excerise, eat well....you will recover... Just learn from this mistake and realize that you and drugs just don't mix.
  15. I think you want to find a drugs forum to discuss this sort of thing... this is a recovery forum. I can't speak for everyone, but hearing about people tripping and trying out chemicals on a forum for people who's lives have been ruined by tripping and taking chemicals is a bit thoughtless. Would you go onto a lung cancer forum and ask about people's thoughts on a new cigarette brand?
  16. do you remember which area of the brain showed the peaks?
  17. Does anyone have any images/prints of a qEEG scan on a hppd sufferer's brain. I am sure I have seen one around the web, but I can't see to find anything now when i search
  18. yea, main/general gets the most coverage.
  19. the million dollar question, i guess.... what has helped you?
  20. We have to keep it fairly low, as real users were getting flagged up and not being able to access the site. Just report the spam as soon as you see it... I work from home and i'm online in some capacity 18 hours a day, so can block them straight away... I just need people to alert me
  21. sorry, was mixed up... yea, whichever one dampens down excitement.
  22. I wonder if trying anode at O1 and/or O2 (visual cortex) would benefit? Have any users had a qEEG test? can they remember where the over excitation was in their scans?
  23. Did you make a DIY kit or buy one from somewhere?
  24. further reading - http://www.york-biofeedback.co.uk/blog/index.php/92/transcranial-direct-current-stimulation-tdcs/
  25. anyone given this a try? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transcranial_direct-current_stimulation Sounds queit interesting (and safe) treatment for depression, but can also be used to minimise Anxiety and other things conected to hppd. I have been reading up on the areas of the brain that you can target and you could minimise the activity in the visual cortex, which could help us. It is very short lasting, but you can retrain your brain with very short 10 minute per day changes. More research is needed.
