  1. The half life thing is a bit misleading though..... FWIR.... Once it has gone through the blood to the brain, the drug gets stored in fatty tissues and has no benefit to symptoms and doesn't act on the receptor. Maybe someone can confirm or deny this?
  2. I didn't get much from it until i hit 10mg or over. After that, i'd generally get a good reduction in visuals and anxiety Obviously, be careful, these things get a bit addictive!
  3. If I cover one eye... I see a very, very small "shadow" in the center that perhaps isn't as active as the areas around it. With both eyes open, this area reduces to nothing, as the centers of vision of each eye overlap. What I don't get though is the flashing seems to be sync'd with my CEVs.... Surely CEVs in a pitch black room can't be BFEP related?
  4. I definitely see the BFEP kind of movement in the center of my vision.... So it is either something that is very, very similar, or wiki is wrong.. It is that exact movement, just more particles and flashes faster. If I look at something non defined.... It looks more like normal VS, but if I concentrate on it (blue sky)... it is just like BEFP.
  5. I've always thought it was this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_field_entoptic_phenomenon I'm sure we've all sat and stared at the VS on a blue sky.... Seems to have an organic movement to it.
  6. Maybe you and/or David can look into a kickstarter campaign too?
  7. do you mean this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guanfacine Couldn't find anything listed as Klonodine. Glad to hear something is working
  8. David, how long do these sort of things tend to take to get to market .... from this early stage of testing on labrats and first public reports to actually being able to get them prescribed? 5 years, 10 years.... impossible to say?
  9. no cod eyes, for me. most meds have some crazy, ultra rare side effects. I can't remember which med it was the doctor tried to put me on... but one of the rare side effects was a permanent hard on that had to be surgically dealt with and meant you could never get an erection again. I kindly passed on that med
  10. Check this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamotrigine#Side-effects The rash can be deadly.... but very, very rarely is... Even my neuro said that it would be fine and I should carry on (the rash was hardly visible)... But i bottled it. I might speak to him about going back on it, it definitely helped.
  11. That's the beauty of the benzo... If you use them wisely and sparingly, you might never have a proper bad, shit i wanna die, day again. I sound like a drug dealer.... come on man, by ma benzos... ten quid a pill, you'll never have a bad day again
  12. Lamictal (lamotrigine) worked quite well for me... less anxiety, less visuals... But i got a rash, which is quite dangerous, so had to stop.
  13. i've seen people go cold turkey.... it is an awful thing... So i guess if this drug helps, it is much better than cold turkey
  14. the occasional benzo is better than death, i reckon.
  15. that actually made me laugh out loud.... You mum's face must have been a picture
  16. I find autumn/fall is always a tough time.... Lots of pressure changes and less sun... I am sure they are yet another thing that sends us all loopy.
  17. you should try and get a box of benzos for such days. Keeps me sane knowing I have a magic bullet
  18. yea, i think the dread thing must be anxiety related... But it is strange, as I have a pretty good handle on anxiety and can usually think me way out of swirling thought patterns. The dread thing is different, as it is not a logical problem that i can think through and work a solution out (unlike the anxiety of money problems, for instance) we live in such a fucked up time... a sense of dread is inevitable, i guess.
  19. From my experience: Xanax - 2mg, 70% reduction in visuals for about 4-6 hours Klonopin - 2mg, 70% reduction in visuals for about 12 hours Valium - 10mg, 60% reduction in visuals for about 12 hours Lorazepam - 3mg, 50% reduction in visuals for about 6 hours
  20. VS and hppd definitely share alot in common.... i've always been of the assumption that the visual aspects of hppd are natural visual phenomenons that we brought to the surface with drug use. I can't really see how non drug users would get the trippy dp/dr that tends to come with hppd though. If they do, that must be hell As far as I know, migrane auras come and go? So wouldn't be considered persistent.
  21. Booze, i'm ok with and the occasions i have gone a couple of months without... I didn't notice any improvements. In the short term, hangovers can make me pretty bad though and i guess it might be hindering any long term chance of getting better.... But at least i feel like a have a life. Weed makes me very bad though. The few occasions i have smoked since hppd (usually when drunk), it has had me hearing voices and fully tripping. Scares me to death now.
  22. yea, for sure... i'd love to go back in time and smack myself around the head... but being the thick teenager i was, i'd still probably have done it. i remember a few stories of people getting permafried, but it was like a myth, back then... like hearing about a guy who thought he was an orange and tried to peal himself! People are luckier now to have all this info... although i do wonder if people go looking for hppd symptoms now.. once they come down from their trip or high.
  23. dp/dr, visuals, anxiety, physical chest pain and difficulty breathing (due to anxiety, maybe) I have one symptom that I have never seen on here.... A feeling of dread is how i best describe it... Just a lingering feeling that something really bad is going to happen. I don't even have paranoid/swirling thoughts... Just this strange, deep feeling... Mainly at night.
  24. I took my first E a week after that Leah Betts died from it. It seemed worth the risk of death, when i was a dumb teenager!
  25. I get visual relief from all the benzos i've tried.
