  1. Welcome.... I think you are making the right choice coming off Seroquel. You might start to feel better without that. Personally speaking, I think you should avoid meds, for now, and see how you heal naturally. As always, my advice is to stop or cut down alcohol, stop smoking, eat healthy and exercise. hope things start getting better for you.
  2. haha, he does look like he might be in a barn though
  3. I had an idea some time ago to create a database that we can enter various "levels" of pre-determined symptoms and other connected problem (OCD, Paranoia.. for instance). Maybe some way to input drug use too... and , of course, enter our med history with notes and scales (eg, visual reduction 30%). What would be perfect would be to also have some "simulations" for visual symptoms that could log the users results. Unfortunately, I don't have the coding skills to pull such a thing off.... I can design and plan it... But would need help with the rest. Maybe someone here could help with that side of thing.... Or perhaps some kind of kickstarter campaign to pay for it.
  4. Try and wear sunglasses as much as possible, even indoors, watching tv etc. I did that for a few years and now don't need them... Seemed to fix my light sensitivity issues. Visual snow is a tough one though.... The only med I have any reduction major with is klonopin. But it is highly addictive. Keppra might be worth a look, I got a 20%-30% reduction using keppra.
  5. What are your worst symptoms? It is better to think of HPPD as various separate problems (visuals, anxiety, depression, dp/dr etc) then target one at a time.
  6. I can tell by your photo that you have probably coveted a few of your neighbour's oxs. Possibly the worst sin of the lot.
  7. Seems to be more and more of us here from Britain... Not surprising, it's been mental for drugs since the late 80s rave scene. Anyway, sounds like you are on the right track, sober and exercising, hopefully eating a decent diet too. If the meds aren't doing much, speak to your doctor about coming off them, you might have to taper down slowly.
  8. monkey, careful with cutting a dose of Klono like that.... 3 months, it is possible you will have a strong tolerance/addiction already and you can really harm yourself by cutting so fast. If today felt bad, and you still have alot of yesterday dose in your system, tommorow might be very bad. Don't mean to scare ya, but get researching and maybe make a post in the med section.
  9. Yep, it is a very expensive med. For instance, I pay €0.70 a bottle for Klono (30x2mg) and it was around €12 for Keppra (30x1000mg) and the med prices are very good here in portugal.
  10. Maybe just lie and say you have epilepsy? If you have a qEEG test, the brain activity is very similar to an epilepsy sufferer.
  11. i'll not lie... not a day or even hour goes by that my life feels even close to normal. working, chatting, going to the shops, having a meal, watching tv etc... all just a strange trip. The only things that get me close to normal are alcohol, benzos and very immersive and dangerous sports, like surfing huge waves (never all 3 at the same time though!) I guess the upside is that I now consider tripping as being fairly normal. I can cope, but I always feel 1mm away from complete madness.
  12. I'm bug testing an Android app for my business... Would be good to get some input from around the globe. If you have a phone/tablet with 2.2 or above and have a spare few minutes, please PM me. Cheers, Jay
  13. sounds like a good one, i'll look into wheat germ. Thanks
  14. stick a bit under her desk as you leave work for the weekend.
  15. yea, you're probably looking at a race for 2nd place with Benfica,,, although Spartak look a dark horse. I think it's Benfica v Barca next, as I might be goin up, 2nd/3rd october or something. Going up to Braga v Man UTD too... should be a good laugh, about 20 of us going up for a 3 dayer.
  16. I had a couple of Mackerel on the bbq today, great fish... almost like chicken. Yea, bread and pasta are the killers... especially if you eat them late on at night. I hope you're managing to stear clear of the deep friend mars bars though, ahah... dirty scots
  17. here ya go http://hppdonline.com/index.php?/topic/1337-nutrition-thread/page__pid__11066#entry11066 I'm a web/app designer.... Lucky to be able to do something where I can work from home, makes life alot less stressful.
  18. Not sure i've seen anyone ever post about this.... One of the 1st pieces of advice most people receive is to start eating well... But that doesn't mean the same thing to each person. Here are a few foods that are healthy and also give you a "feel good" factor by boosting gaba and/or serotonin naturally: Bananas, almonds, broccoli, brown rice, white fish, lentils, oats, whole grain, oranges, boiled potato, spinich, walnuts, whole wheat, turkey breast, tuna, salmon. Try to cut down your bread, pasta, dairy and sugar intake (even fruit juices). Be careful with the amount of sauce or gravy you put on meals... They are full of fats and sugars. I tend to mix up a little olive oil, lemon, chilli and a touch of vinegar... That flavours the food, without having to coat it in ketchup or mayo. If you are working out too (highly recomended), you need to eat plenty of protein and healthy carbs.... Tuna is a great sauce of protein, along with turkey or chicken breast and egg whites. Whey protein, as discussed in the body building thread, seems fine for hppd sufferers too. A good resource i have found for nutrition and recipes is https://www.gabbyand...d.com/nutrition
  19. yea, dont rush into meds.... eat well, stay clean and excercise. The 3 simplest rules to feel better. and when i say eat well.... I don't just mean keep the lettuce on your KFC ... maybe i'll post some nutrition advice. Getting pretty clued up, these days.
  20. I've tried a few things that might work on the calcium channel (but mainly sodium), the best one being lamictal... it helped my dp/dr and maybe even visuals. Had to stop it due to getting a rash though.
  21. There was a white paper somewhere about Keppra used in a trial to treat "persistent flashbacks".... Someone posted it here a few years ago and everyone started trying it (me included). The white paper was lacking in detail and pretty unspecific. I think in the desperation for a cure, we will jump on any glimmer of a chance.
  22. Welcome to the forum jaydog. As far as I know, that is just a theory by some users on here, not a medically backed up theory
  23. 5HTP was better for me, st john's did nothing... 5htp helped a bit.
