  1. I do alot of cardio and, like you, play footy... 7 a side midweek and 11 side on the weekend. I fucked my left ankle ligament last month though and will be out for a few months.... So have changed my routine to really boost my upper body while I can't do much leg work. I just do it from home with a bench, some dumbells, an ab machine, leg weights, swimming pool and cross trainer. So far, so good... although I feel i might wanna move to a proper gym soon, if i hit a wall with improvements at home. I've been following some vids on this guy's site - http://scoobysworkshop.com and also http://www.gabbyandlaird.com (fantastic for nutrition) I've always been slight in build and only ever half heartedly tried with weights before, as I just thought it would take too much effort. I was amazed that I saw pretty huge body changes in a month or so with diet and weights. Feel probably the healthiest, body wise, since I were a teen. Doesn't do any harm for the confidence either, gettin a bit more attention from the chicas
  2. Just dropped a suboxone for the 1st time in a month.... ahhh, i love opiates. If i could feel like this all the time, i'd consider it a cure.. feel like i could do anything, but not in a fake way, like cocaine. i'm glad of these small treats every now and again
  3. I think i'll leave creatine... Already seeing more results just throwing in an extra tin of tuna per day... I've looked into whey protein and ordered some of the best stuff, from the reviews I read... Time to go hulk..... It's amazing how quickly your body changes, I can see why it is addictive (an addiction I can finally embrace!)
  4. Yep, partly due to the majority having used multiple drugs to get hppd... I'm sure someone who got hppd through lsd could have very different reactions to things than someone who got hppd through mdma. Then you start with the multi drug users and it's a real minefield to set any kind of hppd "benchmark".
  5. Learn from the mistake, but try to also put it behind you.... Getting stressed because you made a mistake is just wasted energy.
  6. Sorry if I was being harsh and singling you out. Just wanted to get across that there are not always clear right or wrongs... Cheers, Jay
  7. You're welcome to your views, as is everyone. I just don't like the way you are wording it, like it is 100% a black and white issue. I have abused alcohol and have a long history with it... I have many, many times stated on here that heavy use is bad for hppd and not recomended. One of our members died from liver failure self medicating... It's no secret that we all know there are risks. But light alcohol use has helped me gain some normality and build friendships, so I feel it is worth discussing. Anyone who follows my posts should know that I am not the most responsible person on here.... I drink, i occasionally do cocaine and opiates... i've even tripped, smoked weed and done MDMA post hppd.. even after a full mental breakdown. Don't follow me for advice, i really hope that moderator tag doesn't lull people into thinking i'm on top of this shit... I'm just hear giving my honest account of my own story.... nothing more, nothing less
  8. I'm getting a little tired of reading this on every thread that mentions alcohol.... I imagine alot of people here want to hear other people's honest views on certain topics... Saying something like "I really can't see 4-5 bottled beers every now and again really affecting hppd", is just an opinion anyway... Not advice. No one has to follow that "advice" and you'd be stupid to follow any advice on an internet forum without researching and thinking the subject through yourself. Absolutly every aspect of HPPD seems to be personal to the sufferer.. So every bit of advice on here, including David's and even Dr Abraham's has the potential to screw you over. If you follow Dr.A's med advice, you will likely end up addicted to Klonopin and face years of withdrawal pain. Do I still want to hear his advice, even though it goes against my personal view of treatment? Of course I do... I will just not blindly follow it.
  9. i like to drink a few glasses of champagne while i wildly masturbate... really helps me forget my hppd... after a while, I don't even notice the other people in the wine bar
  10. hard to get hold of drugs in manchester.... haha, that's a first yep, just battle through these few days and see where you're at. Good luck, hope you get back to normal, fast ps - did you get to go traveling in the end?
  11. This forum is mainly about sharing personal experiences regarding hppd.... my experience is the loss of anxiety from a few beers more than outweighs any negatives. It helps me live a more normal and fun filled life, with minimal side effects. People can take that positive experience how they want it, just like people can take people's negative experiences and warnings how they want it. I don't think i'm offering "really bad advice".... I'm just offering my personal experience. Same goes for people discussing klono, opiates, coffee, nicotene or whichever med/suplement is the new flavor of the month.... hell, even masturbating has been discussed, in depth.
  12. I agree, get a benzo in you today and tomorrow, then see how you feel. If I drink crazy heavy, I have a really bad 2-3 days, then i'm back to baseline.... If your baseline is very minimal hppd... hopefully you will go back to that. Good luck and remember not to get too wasted, next time.
  13. 5HTP and Inositol are other supplements worth looking into.... as with anything, it might not be for you.... but for me, it was fine and definitely help my depression and anxiety. Lamictal is also quite good, if SSRIs make you feel worse.
  14. Here is a shot of my local wave, 200m from my house! My friend Paulo catching a beauty.
  15. I was up there last month (a town called Nazare).... I surfed supertubos though instead, as the wind was better. Such a nice beachbreak wave
  16. cool, thanks mate.... It was Creatine that had me worried, something about the name just screamed panic attack... I'll check out ZMA, sounds like a good supp. even without the weights. Scotland has some sweet waves, but cold as hell.... Thurso is supposed to be world class. I'll stick with the Algarve for now though!
  17. Is there anything to avoid? I'm starting to bulk up ready for the winter surf season here.... I usually just up my protein intake through food, but have been looking into whey protein and other supplements.... Any problems with hppd?
  18. Yea, you're right... better for the liver... But I was talking about 4-5 botlles of beer...... If you are on a big session, don't take paracetamol!
  19. btw - I told my girlfirend (now wife) about hppd about 1 year into the relationship, which was about 3 years into my hppd. I was going to various doctors and trying meds, so she needed to know, at that point.
  20. I didn't quit alcohol... So it was easier... I really can't see 4-5 bottled beers every now and again really affecting hppd too much. It's enough to take the edge of the anxiety and let your hair down while you swoop in on that sexy lady. Drink a glass of water when you get home, take a paracetomal/acetaminophen (reduces swelling, which causes hangover) and eat a banana... Job done, no hangover. Also, I think men can get away with being a bit withdrawn and quiet, adds to the mystery. Unless you're an ugly bugger... then you need to learn some jokes.
  21. I thought we had a research section... how would this differ?
  22. It seems that each time the server goes down for a week to two... post counts and topics seem to go downhill for a while after. As some of you might know, the server is now paid for for a year and we shouldn't run into those problems again.... So maybe now is a good time for the group to focus on making this place an even resource and support system. Is there anything you would change? Anything you wish members would do?
  23. Taking a break from the forum and stopping thinking about HPPD can be a way to heal. That is not selfish, it is just common sense. He has been selfless, moderating the forum for a long time now... there is nothing to gain from being a moderator, and often, it can be stresful.
  24. Just concentrate on the positives.... You are one of the minority (that post here) that actually got better. Chances are it will happen again.... then you just have to be really aware of your surrounding and the people you hang around with. I'm not sure how old you are, but the older you get and the more you settle down, the less you will ever be in a situation where joints are being passed around. If you end up in a place that might have people smoking, just make sure you know how to get out of their fast. As for suggestions.... excerise like mad, get yourself on a healthy, 40% protein 40% carb 20% good fats diet. Get into sports. Get outdoors as much as possible. I might still have LSD eyes and brain, but i'm much calmer now my body is perfectly healthy.
  25. Sorry to see you go mate, but happy you are ready to make the break and go and live your life. If you are ever in Portugal, drop by for a cold beer
