  1. i started taking serrapeptase to see if it could help with my stiff legs. It seems so far to be the most successful supplement for keeping my brain clear. Not sure why, perhaps its anti-inflammatoryness, or removing protein fragments that are clogging my brain. Felt quite out of it yesterday despite feeling lighter - a bit like detox. Only been on it 3 days so will see how it goes. The stuff i bought was quite strong - 250000iu and is quite expensive (i bought 250 vitacure pills from ebay for about £50). You take one or two pills per day.
  2. i suspect it is a secondary effect of hppd rather than primary, although i suspect it may also be a predisposing factor. Anti inflammatories make me feel better but don't hit the hppd directly.
  3. they do an analysis on a sample of your hair to tell you what you need to supplement etc. Costs less than £200 for a full analysis and report and follow up consultation.
  4. teaspoon doses of powder have no effect on me. Unless it is a crap source - got off ebay uk.
  5. ive just done a week fast, only non-caloric fluids and electrolytes, ie water, black coffee, lemon juice, salt. Finished yesterday. I feel fine after only 4 hours sleep, but doubt it will last. I wonder how to maintain it - perhaps some gut cleaning stuff like bentonite or probiotics?
  6. i would definitly recommend avoiding croydon ikea unless you are extremely mentally strong.
  7. joe, thanks for the description. Just to get it right, i'm thinking it looks like this: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- / / / ----------------------- / / / -------------------------------------------------------------------- thats the best i could do with the diagonals but basically you get the idea, a straight line from top right to bottom left. Is this what you meant? Ta
  8. ...and activated charcoal or bentonite clay. This will help remove toxins from the gut without being digestible. It absorbs nac so dont take at same time.
  9. Also i would prep by doing a week of keto diet and detox with supplements (nac if nothing else, plus magnesium and enzymes for a bit more) and lots of water and raw veg, organic grass-fed meat. Dont take nac while fasting tho as it reduces autophagy, tho enzymes may be help. A friend did a 5 day fast and felt awful - she rekoned candida die-off; i didnt feel to bad doing it tho.
  10. i discovered it by accident about 5 years ago. I was on this piss and thought i would try it to ward off the hangover. Imagine my surprise the next day! I couldnt work out why i felt so fucking good (still had a hangover tho!). Been on a quest to tweak my supps ever since.
  11. Another one is to use coconut oil if you have to break fast. It isnt very appetizing alone so you wont eat loads, and you wont stop autophagy, and it also has some cleansing functions in itself so wont prevent elimination. Drinking more water may reduce your heartbeat. Good luck with your next effort - i guess each time your body gets more used to the idea, so your past 'failed' attempts at a long fast wont be in vain.
  12. 48 hours isnt very long as you say, reckon your longer fast will be very interesting. Good luck with it. To make transition to fasting easier i would do a ketogenic diet prior to total fast as this will make the transition easier, ie you have to just adjust to hunger and not to switching to ketosis. I did a 5 day water fast a while back, it did make me feel lighter but no permanent benefit.
  13. i take it. Does nothing for vision but has sorted my anxiety/vertigo and brain fog. Seems to be a permanent healing as i dont need to take it any more, just a booster now and again.
  14. i seem to remember someone got hppd relieve from having their TMJ treated. Also, mdds is vestibular and has similarities with hppd.
  15. maybe use a coconut oil fast to transition from keto into water fast.
  16. if i were you i would take it slow. Give up fags first as the hardest, while only slowly cut down on carbs and caffeine so as not to tax your will power; then taper quicker after you have kicked the fags. I would then go into a ketogenic diet for a couple of weeks before then cutting out all food, while still tapering slowly on the caffeine.. Part of the pain of fasting is adjusting to ketosis, so if you are keto first then it should be easier. By the time you come to water fast you should be free of the addictions so you can concentrate your will on just fasting. Also might be worth doing some detoxing during the keto phase so you dont get too burdened by herxheimer when fasting. I would recommend acetyl cysteine for phase 2 detoxing, limonene for phase 1, and plenty of water, herb tea and raw veg. Good luck.
  17. i dont think carb restriction is the same as full fasting - i think you need to stop protein intake too. Perhaps fast with pure coconut oil and water if you want some energy. I dont know what benefits or otherwise occur from micronutrient restriction. Some fasters supplement with electrolytes i seem to remember.
  18. maybe dose makes the toxin. I seem to remember seeing something about mice being given very low doses of psilocybin had some neuro benefits.
  19. has anyone else taken ibuprofen and noticed a lot better mood, clarity and energy? Makes me think that the supps i take do their work by being anti-inflammatory. Depression and other mental issues have been linked to chronic brain inflammation.
  20. the only effective interventions to extend lifespan (in animals at least) is caloric restriction (or it looks like also intermittent fasting or methionine restriction may also do this). These interventions reduce igf1 and this reduction in igf1 has been suggested as the modulating factor. I wonder if igf1 is like a stimulant - produces short term advantage at the expense of long term gain. Or is good within a limited range, and in the elderly igf1 may be too low, while in a younger adult with the usual western diet it is too high.
  21. So i have been looking at intermittent fasting, one of the benefits apparently being to reduce the hormone igf1 which induces cell division (and hence aging) rather than cell repair. It seems that all the supplements i take induce high levels of igf1 - acetyl cysteine, magnesium, vitamin b, vitamin d. Acetyl cysteine looks like it might directly negate any positive effects from fasting. I have noticed that my skin has aged quite quickly in the past 5 years but it is hard to tell if that is due to excess igf1, or working outside a lot (uva damage) or just that is what happens in your 30s. It seems i can dispense with nac now anyway - i have ran out and been off it for a week or so with no return of ill effects, so maybe the other supps and lifestyle changes are taking the slack or there has been some permanent healing. Maybe i'll just take nac when i'm on the piss, ill etc.
  22. if you are taking magnesium you may still be defiicient if you are not getting enough magnesium cofactors. I think thiamine is one of them.
