  1. For me, i felt effects from lamotrigine right post the intake. It was very mellow though since i started on 25mg and used that for a couple if days before quiting. So hopefully you can get something out of it while dosing up.
  2. Matt, the Guy who was very active on this board some years ago. He left to get focused on other stuff. There are not many people left from the days when i first got this stuff. Anyway, i do not blame anyone getting out. If I would wake up tomorrow with a fix i would leave without looking back really.
  3. Larryc I believe the answer is in my Keppra thread and the pinned sinemet thread. 1. I dont know since i started them individually for a long time ago. From hours to days to full effect i suppose. 2. It last as long as each substance is active in your body, give or take a day. 3. The trial was conducted with a suportive agent, the sinemet has benefits alone. I suggest you try for yorself and see what happens to you. Jay have used all of this but only got relief from Clonazepam. The others didn't do anything. Its individual.
  4. I still cannot believe that people have not tried the stuff that is out there. Its nothing exotic or fishy. What is there to loose (besides getting a full blown worsening but these types of meds are safe). I do not get it.
  5. The reason why you (and I) sleep for so long at the holidays is because our biological clock is trying to catch up. I can sleep for that long if i do not keep an eye on my stress level. Why do meditating monks sleep so little one can ask. What you need is not just individual but also due too lifestyle. Drink coffe at the afternoon and you already manipulated your biological clock.
  6. The gassy things will go away with Mg. The stomache gets used to it in a couple of weeks. I need 400mg of Mg citrate before bed to get proper sleep. Its great but your stomache really need to get used to it. I have IBS and it was an interesting first week before settling.
  7. Well, i believe there is a difference in "pure" DP/DR and the HPPD one. Keppra did a lot to clear up visuals and by that diminishing DP/DR. Meaning that its better to treat the cause of the symptom rather then the symptom.Anyway, i started lamotrigin at a low dose and switched to Keppra. I also tried valproate at a Liw dose. All these three had a similar effect on my HPPD. I do not think there is a major difference, but Keppra only blocks the calcium channels while the others are messing with other things. Thats why Keppra is used as "strictly neurological" and not psychological, like bipolar. By that, its not a bad thing to go on lamotrigine but i do wanna keep my affections intact and Keppra is doing its job, killing the cause of the issue. If shit hits the fan in the world economy i might think twice and try a switch. Keppra is ridicoulus expensive and without the social system paying the cost, i wouldnt afford it.
  8. Something to look in to then. Literally
  9. I guess that is Paris? Nice is ok most of the time?
  10. http://www.ted.com/talks/russell_foster_why_do_we_sleep.html 20 minutes that will clear somethings up. I like the bell thinking. If you need an alarm you are not getting enough of sleep. Consider this over time and how your life style impacts.
  11. Actually it do helps for the time being. I only got 1 hour recently in 48 hours and had almost no DP/DR. But i'll pay for that later. Anyway, everyone with a smartphone should get the sleep cycle app! Its so worth the buck it costs. You place it next to your pillow and it register your movements during the night and shows you a nice graph over time how good you sleep. It gives you a quality indication as well. It also wakes you up when you are at the top of a curve (REM-sleep) instead of waking up during deep sleep as you could do by just setting the alarm. By far the best app there is. I can monitor my sleep patterns and adjust things to have a better sleep. Still, you need to get out of bed when the app tells you
  12. Yes, if you look at the Wikipedia about the more adverse effect its frightenening. But those are in Parkinsons disease where the illness progress and at a point you need ridicoulus amounts of levodopa. Thats why docs do not use sonemet in parkinsons until its really needed. The amount suggested for HPPD and what i am taking is prescribed for rest leg syndrome.Tasmar is another drug that was used in Dr.A trial which was linked to liver failure. I do not take that (though i would like to try). Thing is you need to do a lot of tests and regular check ups to use that. And i am fine with my Sinemet treatment as it is. I believe however i would be a great candidate for the tasmar treatment since i respond so well to.....well, about everything.
  13. Still dont get it from the link. When it comes to side fx Keppra is just as scary. The really bad side fx is when there is parkinsons involved.
  14. Om not that much for hanging around at the forum when i am well but think of it as in schizoprenia. There are positive symptoms that are added and negative that is lost. I lost the 2D vision (negative) and got it back with sinemet. Visual snow is a thing that i call positive symptom. Same goes with trailing. Positive after images went away with Keppra/Clonazepam. Sinemet took care of negative after images. What scares you with sinemet?
  15. I do not believe its the Vitamine D either. I take the maximum dose that the body can absorb from the sun, 10.000 IE of D3. Maybe something with the light or the endorfin release from the warmth? Just a couple of ours in the archpilago give me tremendeous boost on every level.
  16. Funny you posted this, my neuro just put me on 2000mg from 1500mg/Keppra. Afraid its too much but gonna go with it. Dont wanna be a zombie
  17. The Keppra study is still up for debate. Kinda funny that no one has called the institution that conducted the research and asked about what they meant about "flashback frequency". The thing is that Keppra is not as mood stabilizing as Lamictal. I know that Keppra often is prescribed in seizure treatment and dementia while Lamictal is used in both but also in bipolar disease. My psych never heard of Keppra, but the med docs had
  18. Positive visuals yes, not the negative as dp/dr related like 2d vision. It also speed my vision up, still remember when i took the first doses and woke up the next day and had full depth perception and went it to the dark bathroom and i could distinguish objects completely as normal. The HPPD delay was gone. How it works you must ask someone in to brain function.
  19. Well, neurofeedback has been suggested before, but no one really tried it cuz it was expensive. Tjis something different but yet very interesting. I hope you update frequently, so we get an idea if whats going on.
  20. Yeah, i remember those prices on beer. That was when i still could drink. A beer is 5-6€ here. In norway its even worse, people cross the border from Norway to Sweden to bulk up on alcohol and even things like dairy products, getting caught and fined at the border.
  21. Interesting about that left side thing. For me its the upper vision, or how you say it. Its like i look down when my HPPD is bad. Before i could put my finger on this i got a result from a spot test. It means looking at a centered spot and then push a button everytime a dot lits up in the peripheral view. All other visual tests was done ok but this came up abnormal. I had to do it again because they didn't believe the results but the same result came up. I missed the dots in the upper area. And i was oblivious about this loss of sight before so there is no placebo. Now that i look for it, i can see that its hard to see the whole picture so to speak. And it takes time for me to acknowledge things in the upper area when looking for them. Hope i havent lost parts of my vision.
  22. Perhaps its the best way, to learn something that isnt bound to a place. I was thinking like south India but didn't know it was that cheap in south of europe, regardless of the economy (it will probably hit us up here as well some time soon). Work a lot with music productions but do not know really how to apply it to income. 200€ is nothing, i remember staying at a place with hotel standard in Lagos/Algarve for 10€/night and the whole trip was very, very cheap. Ridicoulous, staying at star quality hotel standard to a lower price then my appartement.
  23. This is how sinemet worked for me. I did have an immidiate effect but it took a couple of days before i knew that something profound was happening. Edit: if this does not work the way we want it to (like HPPD poff/gone/magic) it is a step forward.
  24. Crap, wrong section. Mod please move it to general?
