  1. did you ever take 250 twice a day? I am noticing less brain fog. Its my biggest complaint. I'm hoping its not placebo effect
  2. Walnut Creek, CA Dr. Robert Sosa Kaiser He said that he may be the only doctor there that is familiar with HPPD
  3. This is day 2 250 mg 2x a day I also take Effexor symtoms: visual snow frontal head pressure trails brain fog fatigue DR/DP patterns moving walls breathing feel kinda crappy all the time I have not had anxiety attacks or general anxiety for years I've had HPPD for 25 years Day 2- only thing that might be from the med is I feel more impulsive, almost a little agitated.
  4. i cant believe it. my primary care doctor has heard of hppt. he said that hes probably the only one in the hospital who knows what it is. he was a little hesitant but he prescribed me Levetiracetam
  5. I've had hppd for 25 years. I too just found the name and this site a couple weeks ago. There's some interesting reading here. welcome
  6. When I was 17 I took LSD and had some hppd that went away. I thought it was a normal effect that always lingered and goes away. The last time I took LSD the lingering effects have lasted 25 years. your choice
  7. continuing to do what my doctor says in hopes of eventually seeing a neurologist and getting Keppra.got my eyes tested (healthy) and blood drawn. next step is going to talk to the doc Feb.2
  8. When I say stop working I mean no relief and way worse depression
  9. Over the years my anxiety has basically all but gone away. My visuals are same as day one. The symptoms that are still horrible for me are the brain fog, DR/DP and incredible fatigue. I feel like if the brain fog wasn't there the other two symptoms wouldn't be either. Please let me know if and how you were able to improve these symptoms.
  10. Ive had hppd for 25 years. I didn't know what I had until a week ago when I found this forum. I drank a lot. It was my only escape. But at some point it will stop working. I can't help but wonder if my symptoms would be better now if i didn't spend so many years drunk.
  11. thanks guys. I'm gonna do both. Going to see the doctor on Feb. 2 after I give blood and get eyes checked. Meanwhile I'm gonna look for a private doctor too.
  12. thank you gman. i agree. thats why I'm asking if anyone knows a doctor near me.
  13. Doctor wouldn't refer me. He wants me to go to the eye doctor and some blood work then come in to see him. Anyone know a doctor in Californis Bay Area (San Francisco) who is familiar with HPPD?
  14. Thanks for sharing this tough stretch. All of these experiences help us learn. Keep remembering that you are not alone and there are better days ahead.
  15. I'm new here but I keep reading that SSRI's don't work well for HPPD. I've been taking Effexor for over ten years. I credit it for relieving me of the terrible anxiety. Maybe to a fault. I could smoke weed and other things with no anxiety. (since reading these forums I stopped smoking weed immediately). I couldn't take Prozac or Wellbutrin because they were uppiddy. Made me feel more anxious. Now, just like the weed, I'm wondering if the Effexor has contributed to none of my other symtoms improving in 25 years.
  16. thanks so much for the reply. I'm gonna take your advice
  17. thanks your right. Mental health just told me they won't prescribe it to me. Now I have to hope my doctor will refer me to the neurologist. I have a phone appointment tomorrow. Any advice on what to say?
  18. I want to try Keppra. What can I say or show my doctor. I'm assuming he or she won't know much about HPPD.
  19. Can't remember when I started Effexor but its been atleast 10 years. It helped me with panic attacks that basically had me couch ridden. My symptoms are: (i just learned most of these terms from here) visual snow DP? where u feel like your watching yourself trails movement on walls and ground severe brain fog not a headache but constant pressure constant fatigue feel like I'm in a dream like state ....i think thats most of it
  20. For the first couple years I jumped around to different doctors. No one had answers. After all this time I finally got the courage to google it. I can't beleive a lot of answers were so close this whole time. Ive been on Effexor now for more years then I can remember. It barely keeps me afloat. Ive been reading these pages all day and keep hearing about Kepra. I made a doctors appointment. Any advice about dosage or combinations would be greatly appreciated.
