  1. If you want to try something safe for neurogenisis try metformin. You might even lose a few pounds can't complain about that!
  2. I really got into that mindset when I started trying nootropics like racetams. I unfortunately had to learn the hard way that even though ones HPPD seems like it couldn't possibly get worse--it absolutely can. I didn't think my memory couldn't get worse it was already so bad. I felt I had nothing to lose. Boy was I wrong.
  3. Ive tried Wellbutrin. It made me anxious but didn't have any permanence in terms of HPPD and I haven't heard that from other users. Whenever taking a new medication for HPPD you have to weigh whether it could make you worse. Wellbutrin doesn't seem to do that so go for it you can always stop.
  4. Yea I smoked DMT a few times after I got HPPD. This was about a year and a half after getting it and not doing any other psychedelics in between (except a lot of pot) Only thing I noticed is I would have some anxiety for three days after if I did it for two days in a row. I am incredibly sensitive to DMT. I had ego death from a resin hit in the glass pipe we used. It wasn't a pull through, but in between consciousness and what's left when you take enough to pull through. Now it's hard to say however if my physical symptoms (extreme muscle tension everywhere in my body to the point of high amounts of pain) didn't get worse from this because it did get worse but I didn't associate it with the DMT. No adverse psychological effects other than the mild anxiety I spoke of which faded. It was truly an amazing experience. Fascinating and something I don't believe I'll experience until I die (assuming I don't have a sudden death). I'm glad I did it. That being said I learned nothing from it. It didn't cute me of HPPD or cause me to need less meds or any of that bullshit. It was simply cool. Im glad I did it only because it didn't hurt me. I didn't totally understand what HPPD was back then like I do now and had I had information about what aggregates it I would never ever have taken the chance. I strongly advise against trying it because if it does make it worse, the chances of which are either low or high depending on your specific chemical makeup and the "type" of HPPD you have but you will never truly know for sure, you will absolutely regret it. If I had to speculate as to why some people are able to smoke DMT and be okay, even though it's similar to other psychs that cause HPPD (I got some of my symptoms for rampant mushroom use) is because compared to those other psychs the effects of DMT are quite short. The difference between having your brain exposed to a hallucinogen for 10 minutes vs 6-12 hours is staggering. Considering that only ten min exposed to this could affect me for days after says something. I know if I trip on anything longer, I'll definitely make it worse and if I do DMT I'm probably at least arresting my healing process. In conclusion for anyone thinking of trying DMT with HPPD-- Don't throw your intelligence and life away.
  5. I wouldn't advise it. I've had bad reactions to racetam and racetam like compounds but that's just me. Also noopept is fairly new and there are reports out there of people suffering from memory problems.
  6. I know this was from quite a while ago but did you have any success Odisa? I'm interested in trying this but I'm a little worried about the acetylcholine component. I tried coluracetam and it leaves me in a state of extreme panic and anxiety for weeks after even a small dose under ten mg. it didn't do this at first. Oxiracetam almost completely cures my hppd cognitively and visually. I deemed it unsustainable though and I'm worse off than I was before now that I've stopped. Could be the coluracetam but I think not.
  7. I can't really say if it helped or hurt the visuals. Mine tend to go up and down in intensity throughout the day so I couldn't really pinpoint it to the therapy.
  8. The source I was getting was Bridge City Bulk Catuaba Bark Powder 100g
  9. Actually I just thought of one! Catuaba bark extract has been shown to get people in the mood. You have to get the right kind though. I found a primo source and will post it when I get home. It's the bark of a Brazilian tree (of course it's from the land of super sexy people ) and is known to increase dopamine and serotonin. When I take it in on my A game sexually. A word of warning though-- your gonna have some crazy sex dreams the night you take it. If you continue taking it the next day you just get weird dreams, not necessarily sexual. That was my experience at least
  10. I feel you man. I think about ending it every day. But just think about the people in your life and how that would affect them? I get all worked up about being a nonfunctional person now and feel that maybe I should just off myself so I don't have to go through this anymore. But my family would rather have a nonfunctional me than a dead me, and I owe it to them to keep on keeping on. Plus... Wouldn't it suck if we all found a way out of this in the next few years, and you killed yourself first? Have faith! Advances in medical science are happening quicker and quicker. With more scientists and doctors paying attention to genes, I wouldn't be surprised if treatments for some of the imbalances we are experiencing come out very soon. In fact, I was just reading about how a group of doctors/researchers are looking into acetylcholine imbalances as a possible sources of cognitive dysfunction and depression. Acetylcholine problems and HPPD go hand in hand! Onedayillsailagain put up a great post about HPPD resembling some sort of chronic anticholinergic syndrome and I tend to agree with him (for the most part). Have faith man. We owe it to our selfs to keep pushing for a better tomorrow.
  11. http://www.sciencenewsline.com/news/2015091116490053.html New advances in medicine like this makes me hopeful that a cure for HPPD will be found in the next 5-10 years. I've had problems with dopamine my whole life, but after getting HPPD it seems like I barely make any of my own at all now. I first noticed a big shift in my motivation and drive after being on ADD mess for a year and a half in high school. Turns out I'm a slow metabolizer, and the levels of amphetamine I had in my blood were... Well enormous. I was tweaking for a full year (hadn't done drugs yet else I would have probably realized I was high as a kite and stopped taking them, I just thought my docs had just "cured" my add). I'm pretty sure I caused some oxidative stress during this time as after coming off of them I stopped listening to the music I used to like even before meds. because of gene mutations, I have a really hard time metabolizing dopamine, serotonin, norepinephrine, and I think acetylcholine in my brain. This had lead me to think I may have caused some excitotoxic events or something in my trips (I always seemed to trip out ten times harder than my friends, I even broke through on DMT by hitting a resinous pipe) I'm hoping tech like in this article could be applied to help regenerate some of the stuff we all may have fried in our brains. Thoughts?
  12. I'd like to state the molly was very very week and mostly just cut with coke. I did a lot of very pure mdma about a year after getting HPPD and it doesn't exacerbate it at all. Even mda didn't. I think it's crazy how we all are sensitive to different psychs!
  13. I love this concept l, but the main trip that gave me HPPD was fucking awesome and I had a great time whilst it was happening. Some crazy acid analogue don't know what it was :x. A week later though shit got real (maybe if I hadn't done a shit ton of Dexedrine/coke/Molly (my friend was dying, this was a kinda self destructive bucket list we were doing with him... Not my finest hour) then it wouldn't have triggered but idk..)
  14. I wouldn't touch anti psychs. Word of mouth is they make good significantly worse. Some people report feeling like they are in the middle of a bad trip when taking them. Although if you do, and it gets much worse, you might find that drugs like Sinemet help you a lot.
  15. I had the same problem but used cialis in pretty high doses for around a year and it really helped. Can't say it wasn't just time that brought me back to mostly normal function though. Also, NMDA antagonists might help you. They made me hyper sexual
  16. I'm doing MRT which is TMS but with an individualized protocol based on my brains needs defined by a qEEG. It has had great effects on my cognitive abilities but not so much emotional.
  17. This is the majority of my symptoms! However, I've noticed that some symptoms I have are from too high levels of acetylcholine and some are from too low. Things that boost acetylcholine make the high acetylcholine symptoms worse. Oxiracetam worked very well for a while, but by the end I was getting symptoms such as photophobia indicating it was lowering acetylcholine in areas. Coluracetam at any dosage now makes me flip out for three weeks at least. My theory is that HPPD disrupts levels of acetylcholine to very high and low levels in different parts of the brain. We don't need to imagine how hellish this would feel.
  18. Haha great quote visual! For the sake of this thread would you mind posting how much Sinemet, amantadine, and cabergoline you take and the frequency? Also, if you have any studies that would support prescription that would be amazing
  19. Visual had had success with cabergoline which is an agonist of this. I hope to try it soon as well as I respond well to dopaminergic agents.
  20. Ah okay, I only asked cause you seemed hyped about the Ned two years ago. Yea strange like that. I have a friend who describes himself as "more stupid, more happy" from his hallucinogen use/hppd. Then again he was and still is a genius so I guess he didn't feel like he needed to sacrifice much.
  21. Man HPPD is such a crazy thing. Decreases in your visual symptoms leading to increased psychological ones... Like wtf xD I'm surprised more researchers haven't looked into this disorder just out of sheer curiosity. Stay strong dude, if you were helped by antidepressants like SSRIs that usually signals you have a high level of another neurotransmitter that the increased serotonin is helping balance by providing competition. Are you experiencing any physical symptoms relating to your muscle, amounts of saliva, urination patterns?
  22. I imagine it was the SJW. I believe that acts as an MAOI which can drastically increase the effects of hallucinogens. Just take a break from all drugs (including alcohol) and see how your doing. The brain has an amazing capacity to heal if you let it. Welcome
  23. Hey and welcome! Yes SSRIs can sometimes cause HPPD. However, since your seems to be "light" I believe it will go away in the next few months. A word of warning though- do not drink or use drugs. During this time period, and even for a while after you recover, you should abstain from substances. Going forward, just be aware that you are predisposed to this disorder and any hallucinogen use will trigger negative psychological events. The first time I got HPPD (before I knew what it was), it lasted for around 2 months before getting better. I foolishly didn't connect my hallucinogen use to the mental state I was in (other shit was going on) and ended up giving myself a permanent case a few months later. Be careful with the omega 3's. Some of the panicked that comes from HPPD is acetylcholine related. Too high acetylcholine can cause feelings of sadness, doom, and panick. I wish you the best of luck! It's good you made your way to this forum.
  24. This still going on? I think it's a great idea. Hell I would be thrilled if you made a ton of money because all I care about is getting this disorder in the public eye more. I think research into HPPD could be the key to understanding a wide variety of disorders and afflictions from alcoholism to autism to ADD to traumatic brain injury to post traumatic stress disorder.
