  1. Sorry Jay, I did not get prints. My qEEG did show abnormalities. When light stimulated normal get a pek that subsides. Mine hade that nd then a second peak which was interpreted as afterimages.
  2. I belive thatwas for the study for people who had flsahbacks. People with HPPD who have had success with Keppra have had good effects in a few days as I remember the posts
  3. Great. It seems to be one of those meds that eother they help right away pr they don't work at all. What is the dosage you have of a whole pill? Is it combined with another med.in the same pill?
  4. A doc gave me Cymbalta and Welbutrin, both norepinephrine uptake inhibitors. I noticed my visuals got worse. Later my neorologist spoke with Dr Abraham on the phone and told her that anything that raises the level of norepinephrine will make HPPD worse.
  5. Any results using Cyproheptadine ? And is the theory that blocking 5-HT2A something that still seems to hold water? I hve got a bit confused reading as the conversation went on tangents.
  6. Thanks Andrew for explaining. Felling better can help with dealing with the other symptons.
  7. Gabapentin makes some symmptons for many people worse. Tramadol can be bad for you in several ways. Never heard of anyone except Andrew having symptom relief from opiates.
  8. Hey psilocybin. good to hear from you. How are you?
  9. Is that the dosage that Dr. Abraham used in his study? Anyone know?
  10. Lamictal did nothing for me on 600mg/day. I developed static while I was taking it. Keppte for me, as many others was intolorable so could not stay on it to determine its efficacy.
  11. I am not sure I fully understand Merkan. The klonopin and Keppra alleviated most symptoms like after images and static and th Sinemet releived symptoms related to dp/dr like 2D vision? How long did it take to be effective? How long does it last? Aren't you supposed to take Sinemet with another med? Do you still have any other syptons using this combo of meds?
  12. I tried neurofeedback. It did not help.
  13. Merkan, I understood from you that Keppra and Klonopin cleared up all your symptoms. all visuals including any static and mental/emotional ones also. Correct? Why do you add sinemet and what does it do for your symptoms?
  14. On the previous board there were many posts about l-theanine. Great majority had bad experience using it.
  15. The only close depiction to my visual static was a pic on the other site by Maggie tito. I printed out but don't have the file. I don't know where I put the pidture either.
  16. Sorry no link kept. But I definately remember seeing it. As far as the corticosteroids, I agree. I had to take them for a long while before this return of HPPD for some fiberous growth in my abdomen. It has very bad side effects as said. Anxiety and more. When I read the side effects on the med sheet, it sounded like a description of a disease instead of a treatment. But I had to take them as they had no other treatment. For the visual static, I had a bottle of prednisone for a short course from a doc but did not take them. For some, a two week stint may be worth the side effects. What happened to spell check on the menu above????
  17. onedayillsailagain, I don't remember taking half a pill. I was in CA and my neurolgist prescribed the med. I am not there anymore so can't see her for another trial. The small piece on Halpern and Aricept came up but with not details. It was an obscure post on different options with HPPD with different meds by docs. I have been reading things for years and come accross the wide range of treatments. I thought it interesting that a neurologist had mentioned ACh to me and Aricept and finding that Halpern treated people with the same. I have the Aricept still but don't know what happens to the med when it is past expiration date. Slightly off topic - I understand that visual static/snow has been successfully treated with corticosteroids. I was in contact with one member on thosewithvisualsnow who was prescribed prednisone short course and it was effective. Later though I understand that it came back. I have read up on visual snow and optical neuritis and it said that IV corticosteroids are more effective in that it has had less recurrance of synptoms.
  18. I was to take one tab a day then go up to two per day. I never made it to that. On an internet search I came across an HPPD info page where it mentioned that Halpern treated people with Aricept.
  19. My experience with clonodine was a bust. No help. At one point, David had said he wanted to have it removed as one possible meds for HPPD I think, due to its ineffectiveness. Gabapentin can uplift your mood but can make visuals a bit worse. A trade off that some feel is a good one.
  20. My regular nuerologist then (2006) prescribed it. It increased anxiety so had to stop. Wish I could have stuck with it to see its effect.
  21. I used it with no effect on symptoms. Did have tingling also.
  22. Aricept would be a good medication for increasing ACh.
  23. I have been to a neurologist who is familiar with HPPD. He says it has much to do with ACh. He suggested Aricept. He was not my neurologist, he was giving me a cognitive test and was looking over my MRA and MRI.
