  1. I think with the supplements it really differs from person to person as to what works, so you just gotta experiment with things and see what works. I used to take Valerian Caps like a year ago and they helped with my anxiety and my sleep issues substantially. The only problem I found with them is I built up a tolerance pretty quick and started having to take like 6-8 caps at a time to get the same effects. I also used to take piracetam, and that really helped with the brain fog and some of the speech problems I used to have so that's something to look into.
  2. If it's just been a week and you've only ever done psyches twice in your life then I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just give it some time.
  3. I have another question about this change in brain structure or damage to CNS or something like that. If you've ever visited DPselfhelp.com it seems quite a few people experience similar visual and mental issues without ever having touched any drugs. They don't typically mention stuff like things actually moving in their vision, like people on here......but I've read a number of cases where people mention visual snow, light sensitivity, seeing the world in frames, flat/2D vision, things looking 'cartoony' or like a videogame, and stuff like that. I know we have more pronounced visual symptoms than that in a lot of cases, but I definitely have an overlap of symptoms with a lot of people who've claimed they've never done any drugs. So if our problems are from legitimate brain damage or damage to CNS from drug usage then how is it that individuals that have never taken drugs can experience many of the same things???
  4. I'm no scientist or anything but I have a question regarding all these theories you guys have. If HPPD/DP/DR are a result of some sort of chemical imbalance, structural change to the brain, down regulation of some particular receptor or any of the other theories that were mentioned......then how is it that people often find themselves getting hit with symptoms weeks or months or in some instances years after ingesting hallucinogens???? I'm not trying to be negative or say you guys are wrong or anything, I'm just genuinely curious. If these issues really were a result of some sort of physical brain issue then wouldn't the symptoms manifest at least within a few days, if not instantly???? I just know for me personally I had very very minor visual disturbances initially that gradually worsened even though I quit all my psychedelic usage, with the exception of one ecstasy experience, so it's hard for me to understand why it would take so long for the symptoms to really hit if they're a result of physical brain abnormalities due to drug use whenever, at that point, I had stopped my drug use. DP was the same way, I didn't get hit with it till like 6 months down the road.
  5. I agree with what asylum is saying. It is a shitty thing to get stuck with and simply being positive about it isn't going to be enough to recover, but it's still a much better option than sitting around and moping and feeling sorry for yourself. I think my biggest issue right now is accepting all this. I'm always analyzing how I feel and trying to understand why this happened to me and none of my other friends, I really think being positive and changing my outlook on things will really help in the long run.
  6. Do you have depersonalization???? I'm just curious. I agree with pretty much everything you said, I think I could make it just fine if I happened to get stuck with HPPD for the rest of my life. It's not that bad anymore. At this point it's really the DP that's eating my soul away. I can't deal with that for the rest of my life. There's no bright side to that.
  7. That's great to hear man. Did you ever have any depersonalization to go along with your other issues???? That's my biggest problem at the moment, and I really hope to beat it sometime soon.
  8. ^^^^^^^Well said, I see where you're coming from. I've definitely gotten back into some old hobbies of mine that I kinda put on the back burner while drugs were my priority so I guess that's a good. That being said, I feel like I've learned my lesson from all this after a year and a half and I feel like if this all went away It'd just be a lot easier for me to get out and start really living again. My social life is just really suffering right now is all......and honestly I think it has more to do with the DP than the HPPD. I could handle the HPPD at this point I believe. But either way, I should just get over it and make the best of a bad situation. That'd be the best thing for me.
  9. Are you saying you didn't enjoy getting fucked up before all this??? Why'd you do drugs if you didn't enjoy it??? I know I'd still be smoking and rolling if none of this ever happened. I was planning on calling it quits with psyches either way but I'd definitely be smoking still.
  10. It's Friday and I'm not doing ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm just messin around on the computer. My life's been more or less boring as shit since HPPD/DP started and it's driving me CRAAAAAAAZZZZZZYYYYY. Honestly, I just wanna get fucked up again. One of roommates is at a party right now and he'll come back plastered and stumble into my room and tell me how much fun he had like he always does, and my other two roommates are smoking weed in the living room right with the lights off and staring at the itunes visualizer (they're fuckin noobs) and I'm just lying in my room bored as hell. I hate this. I just wanna have fun again. I have too much anxiety to be bothered with going to parties and I'm too fucked in the head to take anything that could potentially fuck me even more in the head. I really want all this bullshit to go away. I've felt like this for far too long.
  11. Yea that sounds like HPPD. It doesn't sound too bad though, maybe just the initial stages. You should stop doing drugs for sure, at least for now. Also, it'd help to cut out caffeine and sugar and unhealthy foods in general for the time being. Feeling good physically affects the way you feel mentally so living the healthiest possible lifestyle is the best thing you can do for yourself right now. There really isn't a quick fix sadly enough. You've just gotta stay sober, eat healthy, get good amounts of sleep, and exercise and let time do it's thing. Cardio helps me feel a lot more grounded too. So try running or biking or something like that from time to time.
  12. I could donate ten bucks, that's chill. I think it would probably be possible for some sort of pay pal to bet set up or something like that, but I think this David person would have to do it since we'd be getting him the money......and from what I understand he's busy traveling or something like that. Also, I didn't know you had to pay for websites.....I thought as long as the domain name was available you just paid an initial fee for that and then that was it.
  13. Personally for me, meditation makes me feel all spaced out and makes my HPPD/Derealization worse. But, you've gotta find what works for you so you should give it a shot and see how that goes. Exercise really helps me more than anything else I've tried, particularly cardio more so than weight lifting but both are helpful. Also, eating healthy helps quite a bit. Honestly though, other than that the best thing you can do is just stay sober and play the waiting game. It really sucks, I've had this shit for about a year and a half now, and truthfully it's far from going away completely but I've still made substantial amounts of recovery. You've just gotta keep moving forward.
  14. I know some of you guys have the head pressure........what do you do to get rid of it. It used to be a 24/7 thing for me but thankfully it eventually dropped down to an every now and then sort of thing. But when it does come up it drives me absolutely insane. It really really really increases my anxiety and makes me feel really on edge and like I can't really chill out. So what is it and what can I do to get ride of it for good??
  15. ^^^^^^ I'm always having those thoughts too. It really is a shame. No matter how much better I get I'm always thinking to myself I'd be that much better if I hadn't of done so many drugs in the first place. Accepting is definitely the best thing to do but it gets hard. I know where you're coming from.
  16. ^^^^^^ I think it has something to do with the visual snow. At least for me it does anyway........whenever my visual snow gets pretty thinned out it starts to look more like everything is slightly shaking/vibrating as opposed to there being actual snow. It's pretty much in the exact same corner of my room where everything constantly looks like it's shaking, and it's not just peripheral for me either.
  17. No, you seem very intelligent and informed about everything you post. I wasn't aware that you had DP though. It's a small world after all.
  18. @Visual. Are you on DPselfhelp??? I swear there's a person named Visual on there with the same picture.....it's gotta be you.
  19. I've had 2d/flat vision for a while........it's gotten better over time and in my opinion the only thing you can do to make it better is get sober and just wait for your vision to correct itself. I used to take a bunch of different supplements and stuff, trying to fix it, but I've come to the conclusion that there's no quick fix and time and sobriety are the only things that can fix it. That's just my opinion though. But like I said I've had flat vision for like 1 1/2 years now and it does get a lot better over time, but mine still hasn't returned to completely normal yet.
  20. I feel kinda bland all the time sense all of this......I'm not sure if that has more to do with HPPD or DP though. All my emotions seem dulled.....I don't really have much reaction to anything anymore and when I do, it's really fleeting. It really is a shame.
  21. What kind of pressure??? Could you explain it??
  22. From what I've read online and heard from others, that synthetic weed stuff is no good in the long term. I've seen a lot online where people have developed anxiety and heart problems and pretty bad panic attacks from that stuff when they start using it in the long term. Your best bet is to stop messing with that and stay sober for a while. Also, don't worry too much about HPPD......just exercise and do some stuff to take your mind off it. Worrying about it only makes it worse. Go run, or play an instrument, or read a book, or study......just don't lay around on the internet constantly trying to match your symptoms up with what others describe.
  23. I think you should go on youtube and try and look up some people who are schizo.....there's a pretty solid difference. I think in a visual sense we might experience SOME similar things but I don't think it's to the degree of a schizo person.
  24. Have you tried driving??? I wouldn't stop driving if I was you. How long have you had HPPD for??
  25. ^^^^^That makes some degree of sense. @Those of you that are talking about us being more than physical, I'm not disagreeing with that at all but personally I don't think DP has to do with that. On dpselfhelp I've read a number of instances where people list that they're experiencing essentially the same things I am and they've never taken a drug in their live's. I think DP is more related to something phsyical going on with stress and/or anxiety.....but that's just my opinion.
