  1. Actually, I've read many complaints about fatigue on the old message board. The best way to combat it is exercise. Just like ppl w/o hppd do. It's so hard to get motivated so just force yourself to get going. 15 min. into your exercise you'll start feeling more alert and I'll notice the harder I exercise, or do physical labor, the more energy I have throughout the day. I know many ppl oppose caffeine, but I purposely drink coffee or a redbull and take a multi B vitamin to get me amped up. Then I feel I need to get rid of the anxiety by exercise and I feel great at the end. I choose to do manual labor for work. It helps me so much w/ all the anxiety symptoms and by the end of the day it's nice to take a warm shower and relax w/ my extra cash. Also I've noticed if the previous day I worked or exercised alot, I'm not bothered by anxiety symptoms as much that day. I basically have to go to battle against my own anxiety demons to calm them down. There's alot of tricks you eventually learn to live a rather good life w hppd. You just can't be one of those ppl who say I'll do it tomorrow..you have to get your ass up and work to feel better (not that you don't lol) later!! One last thing, I take depakote, klonopin, and clonidine, plus melatonin, all these make me feel like a zombie in the morning, so if I can do it anybody can....
  2. I get those small flashing dots as well from Lyrica. I don't mind any of the small visuals from meds anymore, I'm so used to major visuals they don't bother me. Your post is very accurate to how Lyrica works on me as well. I'm am feeling extremely tired though. I'm sure that's just the starting side effects. Anything for pain I'll take it. Im hoping it works on some of the hppd body pains as well. ( My appetite is crazy on this med I eat like I'm high lol
  3. I've been taking lyrica for a week for nerve pain and it works pretty well so far. Side effects have been making me feel a bit drunk and extreme relaxation but I've heard those go away. I take 225mg. daily and it's been working better then vicodin for pain. What I like most is it's sedating feeling making anxiety bearable. I hope this feeling last's but I heard your body gets tolerant to this med rather quick. Also lyrica does help with opiate withdrawals. I read about that and I cut down on some of my pain meds rather easily. That's all wish more ppl would post, I always check this site out and nothing new of late, take care!
  4. Emily, I do the same as your #1 an 2. Nothing to panic about when you're to occupied to think about it. Also, I've been in small hppd droughts where you think all is going down hill, cardio (exercise def. changes your mind set around) you'll be feeling much better after breaking a good sweat..
  5. Just a very small amount for my back. There's a good chance that will make some more anxious. Hope it works.
  6. I used propranolol for a while. It scared me cause my heart would skip beats occasionally and I was extremely light headed and dizzy. Everybodies obviously diff though.
  7. The right mix of vitamins, minerals ect. is great for your body/mind. The problem is everybodies brain chemisty differs, so there are many supplements that could have the opposite effect on others just like pharmaceuticals (knowing your lab work can help w/ common deficiencies). If you can find the right combo you're golden but trial and error, not to add some are expensive, especially when you need a specific non generic brand. Some of the amino acids are $50 a bottle.. Also, I've seen Homeopathic Dr's mess ppl up like G.P's. so just listen to your body when trying them.
  8. I think you also take tramadol, I take 400mg daily (max dose) I felt great for a while, but I'm starting to crave this med and it's making me feel a bit sick. If you've been on the same dose of any opiate for a while same could be happening to you IDK just putting that out there. Just hope it's the tramadol and not the sinemet, that's my last hope lol
  9. I just read this I forgot I ever posted my bad, klonopin and alcohol =blackout. I must of been very depressed. I had a great Thanksgiving yesterday played football ect..Happy Holidays to everybody. Boogres, thx for your concern, I usually don't drink it screwed my life up before. After reading this I can see why I had to quit. Alright it's time to go get my wifey and me some new clothes with all the sales going on take care/Ace
  10. Hi, that girl wasn't cured from klonopin, it just masks your symptoms like pain killers do after an injury. The problem is klonopin works great but after taking it for a while you build a tolerance and eventually it stops working. This is the hardest drug I've ever had to try to quit taking, please take the lowest amount possible. Even 2 mg. is a big dose, it's equal to 40 mg. of valium.
  11. i really thought this drug was more. I'm so glad I never tried it or I just would of been so disappointed. Atleast the future acid heads might be closer to a cure but I'm just working out 4 hrs. daily. and the other 4 taking percocet or vicoding mixed with my klonopin. That's the worse cure but to be honest I've tried them all and it's mine, good luck all and I'm am drunk but speaking the truth
  12. Ludwig I have all the above feel for you man. I was actually hoping nobody would have this problem so it might not be related to hppd. Anyways I appreciate the response take care man. PS. I know some of it is from getting a little older but sometimes I have to sleep with my head elevated so my headaches don't get as severe, it does work give it a try sometime. I also notice when I'm well stretched and I exercised alot I wake up in less pain. Crazziness/Later
  13. Thanks for the reply man you're the only person that gave one Ya your def right about anxiety being part of the problem. But I exercise 4 hrs. daily to counteract the anxiousness (if thats a word) It's not insomnia or I wouldn't be sleeping. Also thinking has nothing to do with it because I'm so active I don't have time to think. I make sure not to have too much time on my hands that's always been one of my personal cures to hppd. I had 20 ppl read this post will a couple of you just take a moment of your time and say I don't have any pain when I awake, or Ya that same stuff happens to me. I'd really appreaciate it! I want to know if this has anything to do with hppd or if It's just my vertabrates slipping. Thanx in advance!!! On another note, I'm really sad to hear not more ppl are trying or responding well to that Trial med. seemed too good to be true. Still nice to know after I'm gone some hppders might be closer to feeling normal from modern med's most likely not even intended for hppd.
  14. Every morning since hppd, I wake up with tension headaches and my muscles feel so tight like they're about to snap. After I get up and walk around for a while my body returns to my norm. Am I the only person who gets this?????? I think it's from all the anxiety created from hppd and keeping still for 8 hrs straight idk.
  15. neither are addicting (no more then tylenol) and they don't work that well or we'd all take em. Try all the herbs you want they won't make you worse. Some ppl have 2 hr. flare ups and freak out but by no means is it permanant. Honestly most of us already did the damage, now it's what we can do to feel better about it. EXERCISE and live your life. If you sit around waiting for something magical to happen I'm sorry!!
  16. B-complex before exercising or work and melatonin to sleep. I used to take valerian root but it's not nearly as calming as muscle relaxers from docs (i know not natural) also it hurts my stomach. Kava used to work pretty well but they took it off the shelves because it's hard on the liver or kidneys. Trytophan workd good to relax and helps with the tension headaches a little. Also, banannas help with muscle spasms. Honestly I live off a couple vicodin and soma a day. Only cause my job is so physically demading and my back kills me! Gotta love Soma:)
  17. you can't drink during benzo withdrawals or you just prolong them. Alcohol works on the gabba receptors just like benzo's. They're trying to reset during wd's so alcohol, other benzo's, ambien, sonata, you have to stay away from all of them or it's like taking percocet during morphine withdrawal. I know it sucks I've had that problem. Just check it out Benzobuddies.org Hope you start feeling better soon
  18. soma 350mg. I've been taking these for yrs. I Take 1 3xs daily usually. It will usually get me passed lot's of anxiety and back pain w/o the opiate addiction. Don't drink on them....if you do very slowly, I really know lot's of ppl that seizured and almost died from that combo in Mexico
  19. I'd take zanax if it was only going to be twice a week. It's short acting and powerful. No way in hell I'd be strong enough to do that while I'm suffering 24/7. GL
  20. I don't have liver problems ( since my last lab) but I have strong visuals most of the complaints (besides static unless tired or high or pitch black room), dp/dr, body pain, muscle cramps, spasms, migraines, fatigue, depression, panic anxiety, tinnitus, plus one eye developed a huge floater that covers a lot of my vision. Despite all this I love life because of my Wife and family (gotta say something positive lol). I haven't been myself lately on this board cause my doctor has me on 400mg of tramadol and 32mg of zanaflex daily (life 5 soma) I get terrible mood swings but I'll get off them soon. If I'm not making too much sense it's cause I just left work and I took 2 percocet for my back pain and hppd shit. Later man!! Stay away from opiates hard to get off..
  21. Balance, forgot to add, Soma or Zanaflex (strong muscle relaxers) helped me big time getting from 6.5 to 3 mg. They don't recommend it on benzo boards (antidrug). Stay away from alc. ambien, sonata Best benzo board/ Benzobuddies.org Feel better
  22. Balance, slowly is the key with klonopin wd's. The worse thing you can do is shock your CNS from rapid wd's. I know how every muscle hurts, you're cramping everywhere, it's torture...You will feel better soon no worries.
  23. usually when you take vitamins and they have a little bit of another mixed, it's to help break it down for better absorbtion (sp?
  24. ludwig that really sucks. If only 2 drinks caused that many problems def sounds like liver problems not hppd causing all the probs. I know the liver regenerates hopefully if you eat right and exercise you can get your body back in order. I'd ask your doc about milk thistle as well. Alot of ppl that damage there liver from steroids use it. I just reread your post, all those symptoms are typical alcohol withdrawal (serious one's) symptoms. I'm surprised my liver and kidneys are still good, all the pills and alcohol over the yrs. I know eventually it will catch up to me so need to not take so many pills. Can care less about drinking unless going out but pills (muscle relaxers, opiates, klonopin mixed with ritalin or concentra) make me forget about hppd. wow I need to go to pill aa lol later
  25. I get something similiar, only when I oversleep for some reason. It feels like my eyeball is bruised accompanied (klonopins making me forget how to spell) with pressure. and a dull stabbing pain. I might have something completely different. If possible go to a optomologist, the eyes are something I wouldn't take chances with. I"m greatful to "see" visuals...
