  1. I blame cipro for at least some of my initial hppd problems. I was taking that for awhile right around the time hppd hit. You can google that med and see it has been indited for lots of things even on the dp/dr board. It caused me lower back pain for a few months as well.
  2. I just moved into a place close to the beach but unfortunately there's a HUGE refinery about 1/2 kilometer away from me. How bad do you think it is to live next to one of these- aside from potential plant meltdown? Any HPPD worsening possibilities you think? All day every day there's something billowing from the tops of their stacks. They say it's water vapor to cool down something- but who knows. I probably won't live here too long but I wanted to be near the ocean and this was the only affordable spot. Thinking about getting a bunch of those indoor air purifiying plants. California has great beaches but who the hell puts a refinery in such prime real estate areas.
  3. Keppra has not been easy on you visual!
  4. The post about glucose hits home!! Ever since this started I always feel weird after eating sugars or carbs. More Dp/dr, more hppd, lack of ability to think and zero motivation.
  5. Interesting! Keppra is a strange beast. After a few months most side effects left for me. My memory is shot though. It was bad before but now I feel it's really bad. Other than that it has helped me. B-6 has helped a lot with the rage for me.
  6. Awesome lifestyle choice man. I've spent months traveling the world in hostels, tents, sleeping in my car- anything to save a dollar and make it further. Wish I had done more pure living off the land stuff though. I always wanted to just wonder off for a good while in Alaska or some untainted frontier and go bear grylls style for a while. I Definetly need more hunting-gathering skills though. I feel like humans used to be such hardy creatures and then with all out advancements we have digressed significantly in beig self sufficient. I met someone the other day who said she didn't know how to cook and never has before.. I couldn't fathom that being possible. Such a basic & essential skill.
  7. Epic shot! Would love to surf that spot. Waves are starting to finally pick back up out here in California. Wish the crowds would relax. See Kelly take down his 50th at the hurley pro?
  8. I've been on Keppra for a year now Mgrade. Lot of people take it long term for epilepsy
  9. I'd like to second the keto diet. When I'm strict about it and on it several weeks straight and don't give in- I physically and mentally feel much better which in turns make my attitude towards visuals better and I notice them slightly less. When I eat rubbish i feel like rubbish. What I eat plays a big factor in how I feel everyday. Even though staying on a strict diet sucks- this is the best diet to be on- what other diet allows for me to fry up a pound of bacon and then fry my eggs in the bacon grease after? Then garnish my steak with bacon and eggs.
  10. Hey Ive had the wobbles since day 1. I remember telling my nuero- dude the cabinet edges are just wiggling, I cant see a straight line! Only thing that has helped was things to help my astigmatism. Still there but less and it's one of those symptoms that don't matter compared to the rest. When stressed it is always worse

  12. Well... I'm just updating my experience so far.. It's been interesting to say the least. I finally managed to find a place to rent to me without a job and there's no lease. Mostly just young roommates near a college. Very hostel like- but I'm not stranger to those conditions. As of today though I found employment as an assistssnt manager at a local surf shop on the beach. And I'm staring at a beautiful ocean sunset right now. Things are falling together slowly!
  13. Haha that's hilarious! F&L is one my favorite movies. Such brilliant narration by Hunter S Thompson.
  14. Just thought I would chime in- read an article the other day about two local brothers who came down with very rare progressive disease. They both studied medicine and and basically diagnose themselves. They're trying to develop and treat it for themselves and others in a similar position. Torwards the end though the article talks about medical companies now looking more into these rare illnesses. Mostly because alot of times the research, testing, and product development is already begun and they only need to fund the drug. They don't have to waste time and money on r&d so their ROI isn't substantial and they still make a good profit. http://www.laweekly.com/2012-07-05/news/HIBM-rare-diseases-bobby-darvish-daniel-darvish/
  15. Btw samm, My EEG came up as slIghtly abnormal and the first thing the doctor suggested based on my situation was Keppra. It has helped some things, some not.
  16. Wow, how have not seen this abstract.. The clinical success rate is pretty fantastic - I guess the word "flashback" is what needs to be defined. Could mean a lot of things.
  17. Ha thanks, page is dedinetly a big influence! And ya thad be cool; unfortunately, i just moved to LA and at the moment all my gear is in storage until I find a rehearsal room to put it in.
  18. Ya, ^ stay the hell away from quinolones/flouroquinolines like and cipro! Toxic beasts I don't know much about bactrim. Ive sworn off those AB but I know eventually ill have no choice- I think penicillin seems the oldest and safest. But don't quote me.
  19. Good to see ya back around swartz.. Love seeing people come back with good outcomes. Think we really need to have a recovery section where we can place these posts! Maybe Jay or Merkan can help with this. Unless i'm still just missing it- then I apologize! But good to hear man! Keep on keepin' on and don't got mixed back up. Hppd can pop back up if you give it a reason too!
  20. I did some backpacking in Europe a while back- you should definitely go. Especially since you're so close. Also, I don't recommend driving. I would get a railpass and utilize public trans like subways and buses. It's much more of an adventure this way, you get to interact with everyone and their world and hostels don't have parking a lot of times. Plus, when you meet some other people traveling you can just join with them for a few days somewhere if you hit it off or maybe you find a nice Dane and travel with her for a bit. There's so much more flexibility. One of the best feelings of liberty in the world is walking into a bus station or train station and just randomly picking a place to travel to. It is a rare occasion but a great one. And we used to pick where we'd go by just going wheresver the first page we flipped too in the Europe lonely planet guide book was. This led to hilarious stories like ending up in a all gay city in Spain for two days. The beaches were nice at least ha.
  21. Thanks guys, been an quite interesting move. Hiked up to the top of the hills surrounding the city today and got some rely nice pictures. I find Venice beach is such a strange and fascinating place. Very hippy and artsy and you can tell thirty/fourty years ago it was a really fun, cool, unique place but now, i find it quite sad. So many homeless people just siting around smoking weed and asking for change. You can see the casualties of the 60's drug craze in lots of the homeless people's eyes. And young homeless folks who are already in bad shape. I want to ask a lot of the older ones if they have hppd like issues. I wouldnt sell yourselves short.. You all have the Nuggets to deal with hppd everyday, might as well have to deal with somewhere you want to be. Jay's right, it's worth getting out of your comfort zone and seeing new things. It is really good for the soul. Also, if you're like me and have to travel on a budget, you flip the switch to survival mode real quick. You focus on shelter, food and water. Doesn't leave much room to worry about hppd. Plus you have the distractions of everything new and that excitement is addicting. Visual- no I didn't hike down, it was rediculously hot but next time, I think it would be worth it. Mgrade- Ya, Cali is difficult cause weed is legal and significantly more people do drugs- i would really love to manage to find roommates who are drug free and trustworthy so I don't have to worry about being around it all the time and risk getting worse.
  22. Just traveled 1500 miles to LA. It has been an adventure to say the least over the past two weeks. Saw a lot of things on the way including the grand canyon. Took about a week to find a place to live so that was interesting. Did some couch surfing at friends, dodgy cheap motels, slept in my car a few times but I'm here hoping to follow some dreams and not let hppd hold me back. It has been at times exciting, inspiring, stressful and lonely but once I get on my feet, find a job and meet some more people, I hope it will have been the right decision. Was quite difficult moving away from my family. Traveling/backpacking is extremely beneficial for me in warding off the depression. It's help give me the dopamine fix I need maybe. Moving is a bit more stressful though. Perhaps if you plan more than I did then it won't be but I think if you're feeling unhappy considering traveling or going somewhere that could make you enjoy life a bit more. Best to everyone
  23. Did the ketogenic and candida diet for almost a year. It's hard, real hard if you don't cook. I like to cook though and followed it as much as I could; I'd say nearly 90% of the time. The visual weren't immensely better but my brain functioned better, had less fatigue and less brain fog. Carbs put me to sleep and give me worse dr/dp. Meat and vegetables! Stay away from grains as much as possible, even gluten free ones to follow it strictly.
  24. Hang in there Merkan, hopefully it'll just pass over. I blame antibiotics to some extent for my hppd. Cipro imparticular, the stuff is toxic, just read up on it. Anyways, you seem sensitive to meds- in that they tend to effect you dramatically. Positively with Keppra and sinemet and negatively with others. I'd discontinue and just give it some time man. Keep us updated
  25. I chugged an energy drink and shortly after hppd & dp/dr came on for the first time. Caffine was my catalyst.
