  1. Ya this is good stuff man. I dig it. Gotta keep going man! I play in a band as well, such a good feeling to just make music.
  2. Wow high score Ya, i guess that happens sometimes. Things can get out of hand really quick when a team gains momentum. Which is one reason I love hockey. 2nd place is still awesome. We havemt placed in forever. You know i'm actually kind of surprised that the NHL isn't bigger over there.. and not because of some American ego, just because so many of our players are from European nations. I guess coverage is likely limited though, i have to watch more regular season games online cause I live in the south right now.. which doesn't even acknowledge hockey as a sport. It's ridiculous. We even have a local team that feeds players into Minnesota's team but barely anyone supports them. I read you were thinking about moving out to Cali at some point? Where to? I used to live there for a while- loved it.
  3. Thanks man! I'm actually sitting here with a 18000 dollar fanny pack wired to my brain. And ya, I have to sign a waiver saying that's the cost of replacement.. Unreal actually. I agree with you man, my last xmas was awful without potatoes, rolls, pies, etc. Just ate turkey and ham and vegetables.. I'm really stoked you're feeling better and I really do think for some of us Candida is a problem. I feel more mental stable and energy stable through out the day when I've been following the diet. So keep at it! Honestly I wanted to blow my diet for a few days before this test because the Ketogenic diet and Candida diet are pretty damn similar. The Ketogenic diet is to decrease seizures activity but if there is anything going on I don't want it to be masked by the diet during the test.. So hopefully it won't set me back too far on the candida diet by blowing it for a few days. I actually still haven't had any sugar- just added grains/carbs back in. " The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that in medicine is used primarily to treat difficult-to-control (refractory) epilepsy in children. The diet mimics aspects of starvation by forcing the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates. Normally, the carbohydrates contained in food are converted into glucose, which is then transported around the body and is particularly important in fuelling brain function. However, if there is very little carbohydrate in the diet, the liver converts fat into fatty acids and ketone bodies. The ketone bodies pass into the brain and replace glucose as an energy source. An elevated level of ketone bodies in the blood, a state known as ketosis, leads to a reduction in the frequency of epileptic seizures.[1]" " Also, your music in the other subforum sounds kickass dude.
  4. Hey David First off congrats on all your accomplishments! Any chance you may be referring to quinolones? I have many negative comments to make for them, specifically cipro. Penny, That's awesome, I totally and completely blew my diet tonight. Very rare for mr to do but it get so difficult to stay disciplined in some social situations.
  5. Ya the czech were dominating most of when I was watching. Good for you guys though. And ya, that's crazy that Russia and Canada are out, they have definitely been contenders in the past. And ya I think Franzen is a swede as well. That pretty much sums of most of the Reds top lines haha, guess we owe you guys one. I hope Lidstrom doesn't end up he retiring, he is a hell of a player. I'm not really surprised that Ovechkin didn't make that huge of a difference, I don't think he did to much for the Capitols during the playoffs here. He's no Pavel Datsyuk you know ha. I'm not really a big fan of Ovech or Crosby really though. What's your local team?
  6. Merkan, is it right that I remember reading you're in Sweden? I watched a bit of the Czech vs swedes game today at thr bar. it was 1-1 when i left .. Who won? Red wings have a few guys from Sweden and they are amazing players.
  7. Agreed, So many different reasons for HPPD like symptoms and so it seem like it may be a case by case issue. Merkan- Could I ask what your main symptoms were before starting Keppra. Trails, DP/DR, Snow etc.. More specifically did you have any that weren't so common to HPPD board like vision that was lagged or that seemed to have a slow frame rate? Extreme Fatigue..etc. My EEg showed seizure like abnomalities stemming from the occipital(which i've learned is the visual processing area).. seem that Keppra may be of use, but i'm quite terrified of anything get worse. After two to three years with HPPD it seemed that it had gotten better to the point I didn't notice it very often.. then came back significantly worse due to stress and dollar wells night at the local pub. Symptoms are back but different and more intense, feels more "seizure" like if you will.
  8. My main symptom(slow frame rate vision) seems to be present in Parkinsons patients as well. I 've been chatting with a fella on the dpselfhelp site regarding this as he had the same issue. Mine are in junction with the HPPD symptoms but I'm realizing that they might not be because of HPPD itself, as I have seen it mentioned much here His issues were alleviated after taking medication that effected Dopamine, as a he had a hunch that Parkinson's(low dopamine) drug may help- and as a matter of fact it did. I'm doubtful my doctor would prescribe any Parkinson medication though.. Also, makes me wonder if I have an increased likelihood of developing Parkinson's.
  9. This is fantastic! We can't thank you enough.
  10. Just watched the Red Wings take San Jose to game 7 after being down 0-3 in the series. I'm stoked! I feel like I need to be popping Bayer after every game though, hearts pumping they're all so intense. Penguins fan's need not respond. ha
  11. Penny, You're the man for offering that! For real, thanks dude. I just got my tax return check in some i have some funds to get going as well as my school semester just finished so I have a little time. So, I'll be getting some of those supplements mentioned. I'm actually doing a 48 hr ambulatory EEg because of my first abnormal EEg results on the short one. So hopefully be getting to start keppra soon and see if that will help any. How are you feeling now? Any improvements..
  12. Hold tight man. It'll likely be worth it in the long run. I'm still on te candida diet, but still haven't had the nuggets to start antifungals yet.. Hang in there dude
  13. hello. hope you're doing well friend.

  14. I think I could relate to alot of those feelings. Constantly fluxing as well. Sometimes I"ll feel so out of it and sedated for most of the day and then suddenly I'll kind of pop out of it.. I don't get the popping ear feeling so much, but at random intervals my tinnitus will randomly increase for a little bit and then fade out. So strange. I thought it may be related to clenching my jaw all night while I sleep plus the grinding. Crazy sounding symptoms though. Keep me updated. I'd like to compare what you go through to what I may potentially see as well.
  15. That's fucking frightening.. I've heard some horror stories but not to that level. Do you know if she was severely ill and highly immuno-compromised? Not looking forward to adding anti-fungals to my regimen. Anyways. Thanks for all the information. About the vertical ridges on the nails, I definitely have that as well as I always have a white coating on my tongue(ask so many doctors about this, sometimes it's even greenish, and yes, I'm very clean and scrub my tongue when I brush everyday...), dry skin, and sweaty palms, fatigue, athelete's foot that comes no matter what and other random annoying issues plus HPPD that seems to be effected by things I eat. LarryC, There's also the spit test which you can look up on curezone. I think it's subjective, and should be taken with a grain of salt, but some people swear by it. Swing by curezone though and you'll see tons of information (alot of conflicting info as well). Careful not to get sucked in, Candida can have so many possible symptoms that you just believe it after a while because it's kind of like a horoscope. Just vague symptoms that could have tons of implications. Who knows though. I'm open to try anything if it might help.
  16. Penny, Thanks for all the info. I think likely I'll start the Keppra sometime soon. Meanwhile I am going to bite the bullet and pick up some of what you listed above. I'm definitely on a tight budget so I"ll likely start on probiotics and GSE regiment with perhaps the Bayberry + Goldseal, besides that I'm going to stick with a decent quality multi-vitamin and maybe some NAC for the liver. Hopeful I'll see some more advancement once I add this with the diet.. Question though: For a long time, especially after HPPD I remember always getting super tired after eating anything like bread, pasta, heavy starches.. and I don't just mean tired and mean Can't think, Don't want to move, Total Daze kind of tired. I can function but poorly.. I'm definitely not gluten intolerant because i've been tested but this was one of the main reasons I was turned on to Candida and started the diet.. Anything similar with you regarding energy levels and it effecting your vision after eating certain things? I always felt like this extreme fatigue from eating made my vision worse.
  17. Not to speak for Idr59 but lay off the weed and anything harder. Alcohol and cigarettes seem to not effect nearly as much as anything else(unless you're me and have liver issues). HPPD can always get worse and it can always come back. I believe Jay said back in the day we HPPD'ers tend to forget alot of the hell we went through at the beginning and when things get better we find ourselves asking if we should mess around with substances again. That rings quite true I believe. I've seen to many people, including myself who have gotten better and the worse again. So I recommend don't messing with the drugs anymore.. Just my .02 cents though. Take what you will.
  18. Also, I think I'll likely be trying out keppra soon.. doctors want me to come in a put on the EEG machine for 2 days so the can track whatever is happening on a longer level than the regular EEG. Do you think it would be a good idea to try this medication while doing the candida diet + anti-fungals?
  19. "I'm at odds now on this forum I don't want to keep bringing up candida and I wont outside of this post unless someone asks, I know its a sketchy diagnosis and I dont want to bring any more doubt to this condition as its starting to become more credible. I really don't know where i fit in with all this now... am I in a position to advise people if I had something different " To be honest, I'd love to hear more. Like I said i've been randomly thinking similar things as you for years since I got HPPD. Mostly because of other non-visual symptoms that I had- Always wondered if they had anything to do with my HPPD but never wanted to mention it because i thought it may be to far fetched. So I am kind of excited to see someone else not only thinking this- but seemingly having it help with symptoms once addressed. I've been fairly strict on the diet for about 6 or 7 months.. I'm wondering if I should add the Bay berry formula you mentioned + some antifungals like GSE in addition to the diet. Some skin conditions I blamed candida for have gotten better, but not completely so maby that will help. There's soooooo much opposing information on candida out there I never could find a specific answer for best course of action though. If you have any specific suggestions I'd be great to hear. Plus, I want to go slow cause my liver can't handle small amounts of alcohol, let alone sever die off toxins. My ma actually recently switched to a doctor that focus' more on a natural approach to medicine. My father had many problems because of medicines he was taking and his liver and other metabolic functions. So he got off his meds and she also wanted to the same. They put her on a candida diet and have had her taking Threelac for a while. Anyways Momof2 definitely said she couldn't tolerate certain antibiotics. I fairly certain that the ones she mentioned were in the same family as the ones I can't tolerate. Specficially mine was CIpro, but it's part of a larger family known as quinolones.. If you search google you can see tons of posts implimenting these antibiotics to bad/severe reactions with long lasting repercussions. When I first got HPPD I frequented this board as well as a board that was dedicated to those who were injured using quinolones.. Vision issues were sometimes on a problem, Dp/Dr was mentioned but mostly it was physical damage. I believe fro some of us it was a lot of factors. Candida overgrowth allowed because of antibiotic use + the toxins from candida + the stress on the body from antibiotics + whatever the reason is your taking them + any psychoactive drugs. I know I've read on the dpselfhelp board of antibiotics causing someones DP/Dr and visual symptoms.. I've also read about someone who had DP/DR for many many years- they finally decided that maybe candida was to blame so he cut out all sugars and carbs for a year plus worked out everyday vigorously and it slowly faded after I think close to a decade..
  20. Hey everyone.. I'm from the old forums as well, went under the name Jackson18 I believe. Was never a huge contributor but i'd chime in occasionally. Really a bummer to see all the information gone as well as the familiar faces. Is what it is I guess. I registered because this post was something that i've been thinking about for years. I'm fairly certain that I had pretty bad candida. Had tons of symptoms that registered with those of candida plus HPPD. I always wondered if it ever had anything to do with HPPD- but always felt that there's no way.. additionally, I never could convince myself to be strict on the diet- especially because of beer. Little back ground: I have gilberts syndrome- which means my liver doesn't procer toxins well and i have a high level of bilirubin in my blood. Full blown HPPD for a year and half. Drinking occasionally, because all the sudden I'm having he worst hangover you could imagine. Expontentially worse if I drink consecutive nights in a row.. Stupid, but kept drinking every now to be social. I read alot about Candida at the time and went on a half ass diet. I'd still ate things I wasn't supposed to and drank occasional but I tried to cut out glueten/carbs/sugars whereever possible. Time goes by hppd and dp/dr fade to a slight background. Still there but manageable..Managing to enjoy life more as well. 3 years go by, But still having really bad hangovers and they're getting worse- diabetic shakes during hangover, gastritis, ulcers come on all the sudden. I go out drinking one night and drink tons cause it was dollar wells.. Next day in class I'm struck with panic attack/hppd attack/ I don't really know but all I know is I saw intensely in frames for many hours. Like see a slow frame rate.. Things calm down over the next few weeks, still there slightly though. It stays at very a slight level for about a year and every time I would drink it ram up like the first time for hours and It was very similar to be so stoned you get shutter vision. The worst vision issue I've ever had. Hppd symptoms I had before were nothing compared to this. About half a year ago I went through a really really rough time, Dad was very ill, girlfriend of 4 year left me and I had a job in customer service just getting yelled at all day. I was so stressed and something happened. That shutter vision- came on and stayed for days and days and barely faded even now. Extreme Dp/Dr as well. I could barely convince myself to get out of bed, but I didn't have a choice. No way my family was going to let me do that. I eventaully quit working there and just focused on school. Now here I am many months out. I quit drinking completely. and stayed on the candida diet about 95% I would. There was just sometime I couldn't help because of circumstances. But the whole point is alot of the issues I had due to extreme fatigue after eating anything, itchy scalp, other skin issues, brain fog, etc.. seem to be getting better. As well as the Dp/Dr and some HPPD symptoms seems to better than they were 6 months ago. Vision is still messed up beyond belief but I think because of my liver condition and the amount of liquor i drank that night, I must have physically damaged something. I received an EEG a while back which showed "spreading and reoccuring seizure like activity coming from my occipital lobe." Doctors recommended some anti-seizure drugs but I was hopeful things would fade naturally. It'll be a year in a few months and it's got maybe 10 percent better. So maybe i"ll start the medications soon. Just trying to patient these days. I do believe that the Candida may be correlated with some of us. Especially those with weak immune systems(i had a low white cell count as well at times), weak livers/kidneys and those who took a lot of antibiotics(about a month before I got HPPD I took a few weeks worth of cipro for a staph infection. Cipro is accounted for tons of problems in people since it's so strong.. perhaps related). Hope I wasn't too scattered, but I wanted to address this issue as well since I've often speculated. But like Pennyarcade I could really accept that candida was the issue.. You know the candida diet is also closely related to the natural diet that controls seizures in people.. so this could also be a reason it helps..
