  1. I see. Well, nobody understands HPPD yet. It is a complicated disease because it is very, very specific, and out of the scope of most research fields.
  2. Welcome to the community. I believe HPPD is permanent for almost everyone, and it actually is relieving to hear that many, ike you, don't get worse through the time, as there are cases of this. What are your symptoms exactly?
  3. This is exactly how it works for me. Anyone else?
  4. I second that. I have an impulse to reading about HPPD and neurologic diseases, but I don't know how to take this ahead. I'm an experienced programmer and good at math, so combining it would be nice. But weirldy most of the bio/medical oriented courses have no math/programming, while the engineering courses have no bio/neurosciences/etc, at all. I find this weird considering how important math and technology is for the development of science.
  5. +1 to not taking any meds. The few I took after HPPD, clonazepam and a weird antidepressant, only made things worse, and I'm really scared of their (side?) effects. http://www.benzobuddies.org/
  6. @topic, no freaking way in the world. Drugs were the worst thing in my life.
  7. I have had lots of double vision lately. It was one of the symptons that got noticiably worse with time. It is not as bad as many there, just some doubled lights, texts when the font is white and the background is back, objects...
  8. I got the day after LSD. It was just like my vision never came back to normal after the trip.
  9. Some say so, but honestly, in 1+ year I have never seem it actually happening. If this is true, can someone show a solid case?
  10. Yes, those are the symptoms of HPPD. Stop the drugs, stay healthy and you will be fine. Some say HPPD gets better with time. I'm not so sure about the visuals, but you will learn to cope with it and live a normal life. I'm one of the few who would suggest against remedies. The benefits are mild and most of them can cause several problems on their own. Benzodiazepines, for instance, have the worst withdrawals you can imagine - read the posts on http://www.benzobuddies.org/ . Don't forget it was drugs that put you on this. This is a rare condition so don't expect much from doctors. There is nothing wrong with you physically. The root of your problems are hidden behind the complexity of your neural networks so it won't show up on scans. The only exam that showed abnormalities were a special sort of qEEG performed by Dr. Henry Abraham. He is the doctor known for dealing with HPPD, but don't expect much from him too, as the man alone can't do much about such a misterious disease. He can officially diagnose you if you need it, though. You can read about it on his site: http://amrglobal.pow...m/category/hppd That's it. Welcome to the boards. This is still a short but united community. Always count on us on the hard times.
  11. Well you know what I will say, but. It will leave you 24/7 in an weird druggy-like state, not better than alcohol or cannabis, but with a different flavor. Withdrawals are horrible. You'll behave weird.
  12. Have you ever used an antidepressive ?
  13. Welcome to the forum /2. I share your feeling about remedies and don't take them. You'll be fine, just live health, stay strong.
  14. David, again, thank you for all your effort. I'm decidedly leaving Electronics Engineering. How can I participate on HPPD research?
  15. Psychologically and visually: did it get better? Worse? Different? Neither?
  16. Have you done with the transfer yet? If you ever need something on the technical side maybe I can help.
  17. I hope you realize that most of your problems come from the fact you are not capable of living on this society because this society is not friendly to us. We have a set of visual impairments that makes it unfair for us to live with most of the agressive competitive capitalist nature of our society. But that is all. Who said we *need* this lifestyle, anyway? We can still do great things when we are strong enough to ignore and control our simptoms and there are many places where we can be welcome. Music and other forms of art don't give a fuck to our issues. It can even be an advantage. But I would particularly like to invite you to research. If your life doesn't matter anymore, why not spend it studying our problem? Have you ever heard of Lorenzo's Oil? Why not? Go to piratebay, download some books and start studying. Our brain is not a magical device. It follow clear physical laws and thus can be understood. We can find what is wrong it us. There is hope but only if we work hard, because nobody will do it for us. Please, consider this.
  18. I have seem many generic tips like exercise, eat better, use certain drug, sleep well, wait. But none of those actually made difference for my symptoms. Have you ever found something that *ACTUALLY* makes your *VISUAL*, not psychological, symptoms improve? Edit: also sorry, only now realized I posted this on Introducions.
  19. Yes, and some weight-loss drugs are primarly psychoactive, so I'm pretty sure someone can get HPPD from them. It can be very different from LSD induced, though. I have heard of many having mainly Visual Snow from antidepressants.
  20. Please don't take any kind of medication. They'll only make you worse. (Except if your definition of better is "feeling good, even though I could be damaging my brain even further.")
  21. shaolinbomber, why don't you use a pupil constrictor?
