  2. Robbie please ask him what's the treatment.
  3. Thank you ColForbin. You said your visuals died down. Please, tell us how were you visuals when you got HPPD and what changed since then. Also did you have cognitive issues? Thank you.
  4. Hmm very interesting things, some weird stuff (Effectiveness and safety of vitamin D in relation to bone health??) Sad. When a substance like LSD is neuro-toxic, what does it mean? LSD kill neurons, damage it's receptors, changes the receptors count, rewire networks or what? What exactly happens? I want those articles... =\ That's my case...
  5. 1. What did you use/do? 2. All visuals gone or anything left (trais, afterimages...)? 3. Got ride of HPPD's sub-effects (anxiety, depression, cognitive issues, etc)? 4. Any side effect of whatever you have done to recover or you're simply 100%? Sorry for having lots of topics around but it seems like I'm the only one who come here =\
  6. From this erowid report: http://www.erowid.org/experiences/exp.php?ID=21020 Just wondering, if Risperdal actually worsened the symptoms why would a doctor used to treat many HPPD'ers use it? Has anyone ever tried it?
  7. Im afraid of taking klonopin and ending up worse than I am. Just look at www.benzowithdrawal.com . It's scary. EDIT: do you still see trails and afterimages?
  8. That's awesome. But you don't see those things or you don't care about them? Also, what's your profission? How can you describe your cognitive function before HPPD, during HPPD and after that treatment? How you got HPPD? Do you still have any symptom that you didn't have before your HPPD or you feel like you are almost the same person, like you never used any drug?
  9. Hmm makes sense. Again makes sense. I can say from experience it does. So, better yet, isn't it? That's sad. Gonna start it today.
  10. Beware the carbohydrates, Phenomenon. I used that diet when I was trying to lose weight. I was very successful but once a simple frozen yogurt (20g carb) had stopped my ketogenic state for almost 3 days. There are hidden carbohydrates in everything, from meat to whey, so anything additional can mess your diet up. I'm not sure it does touch the serotonin at all - I think the anti-epileptic effects come from a down regulation in the firing rates of over excited brain areas - possibly because ketones can't sustain them - what, by theory, if we are lucky enough, could selectively fix areas in our brain that over-inhibit sensory filtering causing HPPD, even if we don't touch the serotonin system. Maybe I said trash but whatever, let's try it. http://www.wellnesscare.com.au/ketogenic.html Note: this site says 20% carbohydrates what's probably too much. Don't forget buying a ketone unire test.
  11. That diet change considerably the way our brain works, replacing glucose into ketone bodies as energy source. It's used widely by bodybuilders to lose weight and by epileptic patients with remarkable success, and has also been recently reported as an effective treatment to migraine. To do it all you have to do is eat from 60g to 120g of protein, zero carbohydrates and the remaining calories from good fats like olive oil and fish oil, and taking a multivitamin every day. It sets on after about 3 days and can be tested using a urine test you can buy in diabetics stores. Seems VERY worth trying.
  12. We can not accept this condition, we must fight. We'll not get anywhere by standing still.
  13. My classes at university have not started yet so I'm not certain if it'll be a problem, but my cognitive function is certainly very impaired and it worries me more than my HPPD. I'm not sure whatever my mind sluggishness is just for outward events or if my thoughts are slow and I've became retarded overall. Both the HPPD and the cognitive problems started after a single heavy LSD trip 16 days ago.
  14. Please do not criticize me. I just believe this is a way to stimulate the search for a cure. I can't offer more than that. This goes for anyone to explain the physiological mechanism behind HPPD, to propose an effective treatment, or both. I encourage more people to do like me, because I think that if they did, we would find answers at least sooner. Thank you. Email: windscars@gmail.com
  15. I've noticed there's a very simple way to diagnosis afterimages HPPD. Stare a light for 10 seconds. Then look to another direction and keep winking. Take note of how much time it takes until the negative is completely gone. I've noticed that for most people it happens within 10 to 20 seconds, while for me it takes up to 3 minutes. Do it. Also, some time ago a group of researches did a test that was very effective at discerning a group of NON-LSD users, LSD users and HPPDers. I lost that paper but I think they used a flickering light, so suppose it's possible to create a computer app based on that test capable of measuring the level of afterimage HPPD one have. What do you think?
  16. I'm 18 and I tripped for the first and last time 16 days ago, since then I feel my head is heavy. Don't know how to explain, it's like I'm thinking slow-mo 24/7. I can't follow what's going around. People report I'm acting like I'm sleepy but I'm not, I'm just slow and this is like, forever. Periodically I caught myself apathetic to the outward. Sometimes that happens when I'm in the middle of a conversation, I just lose focus and people get mad at me. But that's not purposeful. Coffee doesn't help. I was completely normal and very energetic before. I also got some HPPD but that's nothing compared to that sluggishness. I'm desperate. What the hell going on? Nobody ever had this? Help.
  17. Please DON'T use MAOIs if you don't know VERY WELL what you are doing or it can be fatal. But if you do, please post the results. Thanks.
