hi all, really good forum.
two months ago i had a really bad trip of 25-c nbome 1000mics (i think) for 10 - 12 hours of hell. i had to  be insane and paranoic during it, it caused me a lot of bad feeling  with a lot of physical and mental distress, panic attaks, the worst time of my life. I ve developed hppd (classic symptoms ) and if i close my eyes i still see patterns and colored rotating forms, if i focus too much on it , i can see it also with open eyes and i tour into a bad trip and i feel bad for a lot of time, as i return in the same trip. but hppd is not the only thing . I have always a strange kind of headache, nausea and  i feel on the point of fainting , and

anxiety   , it's permanent  , a lot of derealization , i feel as i came to have a mental illness.... . i am paralized at home , i cannot do anything as before , i feel double stressed, maybe depressed...
my doc , he had never hear hppd, gives me xanax and cipralex( an ssri antidepressant) , i take xanax for the first month of cure without cipralex, it has distract me from anxiety , but now it seems don't do the same effect, so i started to take cipralex yesterday ( hearing doc again),
i'm trying to accept hppd , but the anxiety is too much for me and i can't live with it

i integrate myself with fish oil and vitamins , i've done magnetic resonance but it seems all ok

i would listen some advice for this really devastating situation.
Is it possibe i've destroyed something in the serotonine process?
is it ok in my situation an ssri anidepressant?
and generally : when does hppd usually remains? and could have i some good expectation in my situation?

sorry for my bad english

best suggestion i can give is to stop.. take a deep breath.. and then read some of the forum. sometimes just seeing what other people have written about going through this can calm things down for the anxiety side.. it gets better man... it gets worse too, but it gets better.

Hello Vox,

I agree with disguyhere (good name). It will get better with time but It often gets much worse before it does. Be prepared for this.

I understand that you wrote this a few weeks ago now and I hope you have had a good look at the forum as there is a lot of helpful information on here that is likely to answer many of your questions.

It sounds to me as though you are suffering from both HPPD and PTSD (post traumatic stress). I am a sufferer of HPPD and have had to suffered months of PTSD in the past. Are you having any recurring nightmares relating to your trip???

If you are having recurring dreams, as well as 'returning' to your bad trip feeling while awake, I am almost certain you are dealing PTSD as well. The silver lining with this is that as your PTSD fades, which it eventually will, you will loose a lot of the anxiety that comes with it and you will also, with time, stop 'returning' to your bad trip.

Unfortunately there is no guarantee that your HPPD will ever go away though. You should attempt to separate the anxiety from the visuals as best you can as this could psychologically drag the traumatic stress symptoms and anxiety on for longer than necessary. Easier said than done though, I do realise.

Hopefully you are already feeling a little better as it has been a few weeks since you wrote this?

thanks to all, this is a really good forum!

so now after almost 4 month from trip and i can say that from when i started with escitalopram, anxiety , panic attaks and derealizzation are almost completly gone, and i'm absolutly happy for this.

the hppd is diminished a lot but not end at all, i just learn to control me and ignore it .

geometrical coloured fractals (cev) and visual snow , negative afterimage are very low now, but still remain, i can ignore them easily and they do not anything more to me

just hope they go definitively away

I have left is sometimes just a bit of nausea and a bit of mental stress or headache, but it could not be linked to it.

what i take is:

10 mg escitalopram a day (i started 2 months ago)

fish oil

b vitamins

4-5 drops alprazolam (xanax) before sleep

and

no drugs

no weed

1 -2 cigarrettes a day

2 -3 coffe a week

a lot of meditation

Does anyone have tinnitus with their hppd??

no tinnitus

again, sorry for my english

All the best

Etardnow and wooshka, yes I have had ringing, pitching in my ears since I was 16 years old I am now 40. The ringing is so loud it wakes me up in the middle of the night then I'm running around in a panic/anxiety mega panic mode. I have figured out triggers like the t.v. is one humming noises like a fridge ect. It feels like I have acute hearing as well as a feeling of my ears being full I'm constantly cracking them with a type of yawning physical method. It wasn't this bad when I first got it though I've been to specialist but they all have the same answers"can't do nothing about it sorry" not to much sympathy from these guys unfortunately. Over the years it did subside drastically but then it came back blasting out on the rector scale like 90 decibels. I guess from the combination of shrooms laced with acid had a dual impact on my audio and visual simultaneously. I'm so lucky to achieve this h.p.p.d. I ask myself does it get any better from this point?? I have never taken any conventional drugs for it just alcohol it relaxes me for some strange reason. I can't smoke marijuana cause it makes me feel extremely paranoid and like I have schizophrenia or something. There is a tincture mix of c.b.d's (cannabidiols)which do not have t.h.c (tetrahydrocannabidols)in it which does not give u the psycho-active high. It is natural holistic medication that takes away anxiety and PTSD. I'm going to order it tomorrow and see how it works.

Let me know who you order it from. Dixie Botanicals are just getting their supplies to make the batch they are going to start shipping out -_-
