  1. BTW,Not trying to discourage anyone from trying diff things, it may be of help, I just am confused I guess about these effects.......
  2. Idk if I'd try it again, I am curious, but from that experience with l-dopa, i'm pretty hesitant. I tried l-tyrosine once also and had the same effect, but no significant effect on hppd. (i've tried a lot of different stuff for hppd, hehe).... But anyways, I have most traditional hppd, movement, especially peripheral, halos, afterimages, static, patterns.
  3. Strange seeing all these posts about how sinement is helping some hppd? I tried l-dopa a few years ago, just on a hunch, and it temp made my hppd symptoms worse. It's the same thing as that med too, just increases dopamine. I also felt mentally wacky. I don't think I have the same disorder as half the people on here anymore.
  4. If I right click the link "open in new tab" or "open in new window", takes me to the link. Chrome and IE.
  5. I think a problem with 'disorder' is that, for me, it implies forces beyond my control in creating the condition. And while I think that is true to an extent, (I don't consciously choose to see an after-image for instance), my own choices and attitudes about the condition also contribute to its effects on me. So the words then, I think can have a lot of power in influencing perception, and choosing more beneficial terms may be of help....
  6. I like calling it an issue or problem more than a disorder too these days, disorder just sounds too negative and stagnant.....not that it makes a huge diff but attitude does play a role in all this....
  7. I think these are interesting questions. But what I find just as interesting, is why we feel the need to fixate on any of these visuals, as if they require our attention? Ask yourself, why is this important? Any of us can logically reason that seeing the side of the computer screen warp, for instance, is just an illusion, yet, yet for years after still seeing this, a thousand times, there's still some feeling of alert associated to it, that it needs our attention. It's not just a visual problem to me anymore. It's an attention problem linked with anxiety.
  8. hmm, could be more of derealization effect. I think the most obvious symptom , for me anyway, with hppd , is seeing objects warp and breathe, especially in the peripheral. \
  9. Yea still does this. Even when relying, I'll get the process animation, but have to refresh to see the post.
  10. Thankyou for sharing this it is inspirational.
  11. ha. 98% cheaper (literally, I mathed it.) at nutrabio.com, prob a lot of other places too. Oh, far as visuals, not much, but I'm more clear-headed after I take it.
  12. thanks for your replies guys. It's helpful to hear from others who can relate. Idk, I'm working to feel less guilty about this and that. You know, I think sometimes I underestimate, maybe you too, just how strong psychedelic drugs were. Whatever. Nice to have a board to vent about this stuff, it is appreciated.....

  14. As I said on another thread I've tapered down off klonopin. Except, never fully. I've been down to 0.125mgs/day the past 9 weeks. Not very significant effect other than to diminish some withdrawals. Of course, slower the better. Then today I just lost my patience with dripping colors everywhere and crap warping all over the place so I said screw it and took 2 milligrams of klonopin. A vacation I guess, but I'm sure I'll be hating myself in a few days. Fail. Now I'm going to go enjoy what I can.
  15. I click sign in , but don't get redirected to sign in. I could only sign in by clicking the chat room link, signing in there, then logging off the room, then refreshed the board.
  16. Well I'd say it helped with my attention to a point, I was less likely to zone out into my thoughts, and more focused on what was around me. So, if you have DP/DR, this might be a benefit. It's just that when it came to more abstract thinking, this is where things slowed down...
  17. Good to hear the visuals no longer cause you any distress. If you can, or any of us, put them aside into the background with ease, to focus on things more important, then they're not much of an issue. Easier said then done of course, but it can be worked at. For me, I don't think it would be as easy as just accepting them as non-threatening to put them aside. It seems like the whole thing is just this automatic process a lot of the time. If I'm reading something for instance, unless I've very focused, I can get easily distracted by the letters swaying. Hppd is kind of like sitting in a room, nothing is moving, then a mouse runs across the floor, welp, my attention will fixate on the mouse since it stands out. So it's like I have mice all over my vision and I have to be doing something more attention grabbing then all the dang mice, hehe...... But, I have worked on the fixation, and seen improvements.....
  18. Yeah, when I tried it, it slowed my thinking way too much. It also me physically weak/tired all the time. I think the stuff can be overkill. Maybe a small part of the brain is over-active with HPPD. So then you're taking something that can effect the whole brain just to get to one area. Not too efficient. If the stuff helps, go for it, but it's all going to depend on your situation. I don't think it will be helping much if you're a mathematician or bodybuilder though if you know what i'm saying......
  19. But, not to leave things on a negative note here, I will say that I definitely agree that attitude plays a big role in this. There's the hppd, and then there's how I respond to it...... So yes, it is more than just trying to get rid of visual distortions.
  20. The thing I don't like about this post and all others like it is that it makes too many assumptions about people. 'I assume this is the truth for most of you', 'you need to do this and that', 'you're like this or that'. How can you assume this? You don't know any of us personally so don't be so quick to applying all your experiences to everyone. I understand where this attitude comes from, since I used to be the same way. But I've grown up a lot, and I realize that other people's experience of this can vary a lot from mine. Own your experiences. Instead of saying, ' you may think this or you that', how about, I think this and I did that and this is what has worked for me...... Am I right or am I right? heh.
  21. It wasn't the lsd I took 6 years ago that's making the computer screen warp right now? ha. Yeah right. The stuff permanently alters the brain. And that's just the way it is.
  22. no it doesn't help much with hppd, in my experience, but it does help me feel more clear-headed
  23. Well I tapered off klono , slowly, was only on 0.5mgs, over the course of last year, a bit this year, and all I can say is pretty horrifying at times. People just looked like these freaky organic puppets, visuals all over the place. Started getting super paranoid. Like actually giving some thought to the idea that the government is trying to poison us with fluoride in the water to control our brains. Well, there's actually some people who believe this, but I usually just think they're insane. I still don't feel quite right. But anyways, why is it again that you decided to taper off klono 1998? Some long term effects? Idk, there's days when I feel pretty good and clear-headed and don't miss taking it much. But there's other days, like today, that I wonder why I stopped. Seemed pretty effective against hppd. I actually got a lot of stuff done while I was taking klono. Sometimes I think about taking it again, but my main worry is that I'll just build a tolerance and it won't be effective.
  24. Yes, this has been mentioned on here before, NAC is OTC in the USA and helps a lot with brain fog.
