  1. seems that dopamine boosting drugs help 30-50% of people with HPPD but everyone is diffrent you should avoid antidrepressiva they are known to aggravate HPPD symptoms but as for dopamine boosting drugs everyone is diffrent. hmm gaba dont crosses the blood brain barrier so these bodybuilding supps wont work take care
  2. reel big fish was/is my favorite ska band i saw them a few times here in germany, really great show! also i used to listen to less than jake and a few german bands like alpha boy school
  3. @ alfa_string do you mean this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_field_entoptic_phenomenon ?
  4. http://www.goteborgdaily.se/life-science-living/meet-arvid-gothenburg-s-nobel-prize-winner here is the article, but it doesnt mention the name but i thinkits only a temporaly name not a brand name so dont care^^ sounds really good but this would also only be a treatment not a cure! and as for every new drug study, nobody knows the longterm effects or sideeffects. if the underlying cause is not discovered(e.g genedefect or whatever) you cant find a cure. as long as my symptoms dont get worse i can live with them without medication. remember no medication without sideeffects and they mostly outweigh the positive effects. but this new medication seems tobe developed because of the longterm effects of L-dopa so lets see in 2016 or later when these pills are available. but i imagine in 2016 i will have forgotten what a normal vision looks like completly^^
  5. i have exactly the same symptoms i also get these "lasers". mine started with visualsnow and afterimages. with weather changes i mean some people with migraines report that they get an attack shortly before it starts raining for example. my symptoms changed after i had stoped smoking weed. first the snow was colorful now it is transparent (like a vibration of the background) my afterimaes was mostly positive in the beginning now mostly negative reflecting sunlight brought this starbursts now its like a bright "blob"^^
  6. hmm i always had a small amount of static in dark the most people have it. and my night vision was always bad i can remember once i was in the woods when i was a child i cant see my hand infront of my eyes^^
  7. if your body has enough magnesium or the pills dont dissolve completly because of a lack of gastric acid for example it binds the water in your gut and you get a diarrhea. there are a few possibilitys to get rid about it. 1. dont tske magnesium in combination with fatty food 2. use mignesiumcitrate 3. split your dosage. for example take it 4 times a day in small amounts instead of one big amount
  8. in the first weeks after i noticed the snow i also got a pain over/behind my eyes but not like a migraine. i was so concentrated on the visuals that i got phosphenes and pain behind the eyes, what always helped me was palming. 10minutes of it and the pain has gone seems to be related to the muscles of the eyes. but these zigzags sound extremlly like migraine. Do your visuals spike when the weather changes? my starbursts are getting better i only have them with oncoming cars(only these new ones) but not so bad that they glare me. first i got them of every reflecting sunlight on parking cars, metallic surfaces and so on. sometimes i have the feeling that lights only are to bright as my brain or eyes can see the whole bandwidth of light. because all this disappears while wearing sunglases.
  9. also i am not impaired in working as well. now the funny side of the medal.....i am working in a psychiatry^^
  10. i also get halos and starbursts around lights. but never had a migraine. i think its a symptome of HPPD aswell?! seems that the only really migraine aura symptome which was never mentioned by a person with HPPD are these zigzag things?
  11. cow tongue is yummy im lovin it^^ but i have a strange gust BTW, i also would like to try blobfish after seeing this pic i play better instruments since HPPD too, before iwas only able to play the guitar and bass, now i can play keyboard, drums, better guitar and bass as before^^ Yet i consider to learn Tin Whistle. in summer i earn more money then i want to buy afew more instruments maybe my wife will be annoyed if i make our house to a rehearsal place^^
  12. funny all people with persiting perception disorders are good looking^^ this was a observation i already made after looking through old posts of the Visualsnow Yuku forum^^ really strange^^
  13. http://www.visualsnow.com/information/research/pdfs/abraham46-56.pdf maybe this one? but what would the qeeg show if a person diagnosed with PMA would do it. maybe the same? who knows..... to understand these disorders alot more tests and comparisons have to be made. there is an american doctor who seems to be able to see "Visual snow"(dont think that this is an independently disorder) in fmri. look here: http://thosewithvisualsnow.yuku.com/reply/50114/---LIVE-NEAR-WICSCONSIN--ILLINOIS-AREA-PLS----Medical-Colleg#.T5rXr9kuiSo but he wont publish a study because he only saw one sufferer its like looking for a needle in a haystick
  14. @visual i dont know but i mentioned the serotonine hypothesis of migraine in another thread. As far as iknow there are a lot of other hypothesis of the origin of migraine. Also that a migraine is a vascular problem seems to be only a theorie so far. there are afew diffrent types of migraine not only the classic one one is the bisilar-type migraine this one seems to be caused by a vascular problem for sure. but the other types of migraine arent well understand today. maybe they are a vascular problem, but there a a few other hypothesis. i also know that you dont give alot of the PMA thing but i believe that a migraine status can lead to the same problems and symptoms like HPPD. I think there are a lot of mediacal papers about this phenomenom e.g.: Liu GT, Schatz NJ, Galetta SL, Volpe NJ, Skobieranda F, Kosmorsky GS. Persistent positive visual phenomena in migraine. Neurology 1995; 45: 664-668 Relja G, Granato A, Ukmar M, Ferretti G, Antonello RM, Zorzon M. Persistent aura without infarction: decription of the first case studied with both brain SPECT and perfusion MRI Schulz UG, Blamire AM, Corkill RG, Davies P, Styles P, Rothwell PM. Association between cortical metabolite levels and clinical manifestations of migrainous aura: an MR-spectroscopy study there are a lot more studies i believe if this would be only a vascular problem you would have a option to treat it. maybe a migraine can do the same "damage " to your brain drugs can do. i also believe that it is a form of synaptic damage which you mentioned in another thread if i remember correctly?! but would this be a sign of the role of neurotransmitters in migraine???
  15. Never regret what you did as long as you were happy in the moment of doing it

  16. this is better than carbonate. i think for long term use also better as citrate because you also get alot of magnesium because of your nutrition. eat alot of spinach and nuts sunflower seeds has a lot of magnesium i eat them every morning. here are some quotes of the good ole wiki^^: and ithink the most important part
  17. which magnesium supp are you taking? magnesiumoxide, carbonate or citrate? oxide and carbonate or not so effective as citrrate or aspartate because if you have a lack of gastric acid they dont dissolve. furthermore powder is a better choice. citrate or aspartarte has the best bioavailability. but dont take calcium supps this is the antagonist of magnesium if you want to take calcium do it a few hours later. there are also a few posts on the visualsnow forum that people had a good success with magnesium in large amounts but i would not recommend this because this could be deadly in the worst case. my opinion is that it is effective because magnesium is nature's own calcium channel blocker and it seems that a few people have success with drugs like flunarizine.
  18. did you tried ibuprofen? seems that no one here had problems with it?! but one of its adverse effects is photosensitivity but this seems to be very rare i took it a few days because of problems with my shoulder doesnt seem to have an effect on my visuals. but as for all analgesics, i would take them carefully and not every day. sometimes it seems to be hard to get a diagnosis if there is a history of migraines and drugs http://www.migraine-aura.org/content/e27891/e27265/e42285/e42442/e42444/e42630/index_en.html but i think the mechanism is the same(only my opinion)
  19. no i mean EBM^^ http://en.wikipedia....onic_body_music its connected to the goth subculture like industrial^^ also i like the whole old shit of the prodigy
  20. read up about persistent migraine aura but you should stay away of Topamax this seems to be able to trigger these symptoms on its own.
  21. iam listening to dubsteb, EBM, industrial, folk and celtic music nowadays^^ afew years ago i listened to punk, ska and metal. i love the new Korn album "path of totality"
  22. I wonder if sports has any impacts on your visual symptoms. My visuals are less noticeable while working out, but my afterimages are getting worse for a hour or two after a work out. You can choose more options!
  23. Here are a few nice optical illusions: if you only see geometric forms here go a few steps back here the most people see round oranges but they are edgy. hmm i only see square ones no rounds^^
  24. i just came back from my first festival this year^^ and i will visit a few more.
  25. How are you doing passion? do you still notice improvements?
