  1. @ Jay do all your visuals spike wen you excerise? my Afterimages and Trails get worse for the first hour after workout but dont spike while exercising. I always thought because of the neurotransmitter which are produced through sports dont know but maybe it is really a blod flow thing like you mentioned?! Because the muscles needs blood and there is less blood in the brain. you can notice it when you train tall musclegroups like the back or the legs, sometimes you got some kind of dizziness.
  2. welcome to the forum i recommend to stop the fat burner if you still using it. oxyelite has a lot of side effects also visual disturbances are reported by some.
  3. have a look at the pharmacology of caffein: now have a look at the function of adenosine: further: but now the most important part i think: There is evidence that A 2A receptors interact with the dopamine system, which is involved in reward and arousal. As we see in case reports of HPPDer that dopamine agonists help to decrease visuals and other comorbid disseases of HPPD. Caffeine should increase Dopamine in your brain but in another way as dopamine agonists do. so i cant explain why caffeine increases your visuals but maybe its because of the anxiety and restlessles caffeine could bring. my visuals wont get worse or better when i drink caffeine but i got restless which sometimes make my visuals more present. But i think that caffeine has no negative effect for your recovery but if you notice that you dont tolerate it anymore i would cut it out so that your brain dont unnecessary get stressed.
  4. my way of life has changed in a very positive form after the onset of HPPD. I have more Hobbies than before(i love bodybuilding, going to gym 4 times a week, also i love playing music, going clubbing mostly one time a week, didnt do that for years ), feel healthier, have more fun at work and so on. All because of stopping spending the whole day with a splif infront of the TV.
  5. a lot of visual disturbences reported by HPPDer are normal ways of perception. e.g. Bluefield entoptic phenomenom, Afterimages, Halos, CEVs, Visual snow even trails could be seen by people without HPPD. do you know these fire jugglers? but maybe we see it to a higher degree or without focussing on it.
  6. maybe some sort of eye drops which causes the pupil to constrict could clear this up but as HPPD is not a official diagnosis in germany and i dont wont to get my slight astigmatism operated i think my doc wont pescribe me this^^
  7. that is a possibility but i think a ophthalmologist is able to measure the slightest astigmatism today(as my did). soi believe that the reason should be more likely the Venetian Blind Phenomenon(https://www.thieme-c.../s-2008-1045693) or a dry eye(whichis one of the most diagnosis a ophthamologist expresses) i thin the reason could be that benzos has an effect on the pupils. they seem to constrict them. maybe the same effect a pinhole would do?! http://www.ehow.com/...all-pupils.html Edit: this wouldnt also explain the negative afterimages. it is not normal that the photoreceptor cells "become tired" after only a second this must have its origin in the eye itself
  8. yeeah he found the magic bullet, i will go and buy me a men's handbag. then everyone seeing me has disorted vision too
  9. maybe in combination with a dopamine boosting drug? but sounds like messing your head completly^^ it would not only correct astigmatism, also dry eye and the eyelid pressure thing(Rolladenphänomen )! and maybe floaters which causes refractive errors?!
  10. glad to hear. if the snow is on your mind its very hard to not concentrate on it. if you are concentrated in reading for example the snow is urged in the background. its like the kid which knocks his/her head and first starts crying after you asked:"Does it hurt"^^
  11. no prob, would like to hear of the results of the pinhole test. Edit: BTW these BL-1020 sounds very promising http://www.ncbi.nlm....pubmed/18757185
  12. i think suffering is a very individual thing. thats not only a problem of HPPD. Someone loses his leg and needs years to go out again and never is able to enjoy life like before, another one loses his leg get a prosthesis and wins gold at the paralympics. furthermore you have a name for your disease thats what gives me relief, there are diseases which even doesnt have a name and noone knows if its going to kill you and i think HPPD wont do that...
  13. i dont know if you are religious or something but i always was an atheist and never believed in life after death.... so i have to enjoy what i have here on earth, like girls, cars, family, or everything which gives me a good mood. Also having a bad time/mood is a part of life and you can grow by it. Someday i am hopefully an old and wise man and have everthing done what i want to do so i can go to the neverending emptiness of the universe. And if there is a life after death i will enjoy it again...
  14. in the first days i thought i would never be able to see the color black again^^ but nowadays it is a lot better. a funny thing is i always hated snow now its kind of snowing everyday..
  15. i feel really sorry for you guys, think its harder to deal with this crap when you got kicked with it only after a few trips. i used drugs the half of my life, started with 13 and stopped with 26, took hard drugs between 19 and 23, about 4+ times a week, smoked excessive weed every day from 16 to 26, and got HPPD with 25. really strange that you can develop it directly after the first or a few trips and after a very long drug history, but related to Jay i can call myself kind of lucky because some of my old friends ended up in prison, psychiatry or elsewhere dont want to think about...
  16. ummpf i just googled it and yes you can get salvia in a resin form never heard of this shit before i only smoked leafs and extract. a few years ago when you could buy every thing in a smart shop in the netherlands i never saw a resin, seems to be new or only available in some countrys? but the problem with hash is also that it is a lot more laced than weed. here in germany you can find all diluents, which are found by smokers, online maybe you could look up if something like this exists in your country too. BTW Passion good to hear that things are gettin better for you take care
  17. yes i believe that not only the brain plays a role in this whole HPPD thing... i read that negative afterimages has their origin in the eye itself and you also mentioned it in your theory above but how could it be possible that the photoreceptor cells "become tired" only after staring at something for a second i think that this isnt a "filtering problem" of the brain the eyes have to play a role.... Also my ghosting seems to have its origin in my eye, after doing the pinhole test it is completly gone. thats a sign of beeing a cornea problem...
  18. sounds really fascinating but i wouldnt recomend it for someone who tryies to get rid of his/her symptoms maybe a form of induced sleep paralysis? from wikipedia(Closed eye hallucination): or a form of meditation: http://www.mudrashram.com/hallucinations1.html
  19. Wow thank you mate great post!! Iam happy to cut out weed out of my life 6 month ago, my only drug is nicotine atm. cant stop it yet because after ten years of excessive marijuana consumption i have to slowly give up smoking i think i will stop it in a few month too. funny because i allways thought weed gives you a high blood pressure http://ucsdnews.ucsd...lth/potpnas.htm here is the full article
  20. another interessting observation was a few years ago as i used to take a lot of drugs. the movement/melting thing allways disappeard while intoxicated with Amphetamine/Cocain. could this be a sign of dopamine would help?
  21. thanks for your reply! yeah this sound plausible.... But what do you think why do some people say their symptoms mostly the afterimages do not settle down and gradually get worse? Do you think they dont have "classic" HPPD? or does HPPD normally doesnt get worse after it has developed completly, and (in germany you would say) "exceptions confirm the norm"? A lot of my symptoms started 3 years after my last acid trip i only smoked a lot of weed at this time, but had a stressfull time, antibiotics, weed, alcohol...but i had also symptoms after my first psychodelic trips, you could find the whole story under the introduction area. Maybe gene silences caused my brain to regrow neurons in a wrong way? Could this mean a lot of people which had used hallucinogens in the past could trigger HPPD later in life with some bad environmental factors?! Is it possible (only my theory), that HPPD is a form of acquired Migraine? i read that some drugs (Cannabis; mushrooms; LSD) could hold back migraines, maybe a brain which isnt predefined for migraines could trigger a form migraines which wasnt there before? maybe some HPPDer additional get migraine attacks which cause the symptoms to get worse? Some people with persisten migraine aura report success with drugs like Flunarizine(Sibelium) could this help people which doesnt have relief from taking Sinemet? i found this in a study which shows that cannabis could trigger HPPD like visuals: Maybe there are a few mechanism which causes people to have visuals like that?! Sorry for this paragraph of questions^^
  22. thats possible, i used to get a dreamlike feeling(DR?) in the first weeks too, but only when the visuals freaked me out, after my aniexty went this went away, too. i read DP/DR is a common comorbid appearance when you dont feel (mentaly) comfortable i believe if you accept the visuals the comorbid appearances will settle down first then the visuals will maybe go away too. Dont stress up and you will certainly be fine in time. take care
  23. hash is the pressed resin(harz) of the cannabis plant its mostly the same but i think this would rule out the salvia theory. on the DP/DR forum http://www.dpselfhelp.com/forum/ are posts of people saying they have visual disturbances(symptoms of HPPD) because of DP/DR if i remember correctly. And Cannabis is known to cause DP/DR maybe you will have a look there as well.
  24. I have a question visual. wouldnt this happen to HPPDer too? i mean would messing with brainchemestrys prevent the brain from healing on its own? or even could lead to more problems(like PD in the future)? because it seems that messing with it (drugs) has lead to this condition.
