  1. This week i will start to taper my keppra with 1/3 of the dose over 10 days. I sometimes feel a bit weak, like i am taking too much.
  2. Ludwig>> I cannot tell you about specific doses only that it is very individual. I know people who need 2000mg/day and some that need only 1000mg/day. The "normal" start dose is 1000mg/day divided in to two doses for A-Z patients. Most people (but not everyone) that responded to the drug will now it in a couple of days though it takes a month to really know its effect (i guess this could differ). If you do not see any improvement on the highest dose decided with your doc, tapper it like Jay says. Your precsriber might not be concerned about it but you should. Its not like benzo but your brain will need it even if you did not get any effect. About side fx, i shouldn't say "don't worry too much" but really, it wont kill you or harm you permanently if you take it as prescribed. You'll know if something does not feel right and you will know when to pick up the phone and call your doc, IF you get side fx. Remember that if you follow a strict ketogenic diet there is a chance it'll boost your Keppra. A strict diet imo is max 15grams of carbs each day but this can vary. Cannot say too much about Keppra except that it gaved me my life back and if the drugs thats being used in the Abraham trial won't give me even better relief this will be my life further on. I do however seem to be VERY responsive to medication thats been good to HPPD symptoms. Both clonazepam and Keppra but also lamictal, valproic acid etc.
  3. Same diet, even more strict. I am about to change my meds so i'll need to get back to you. Probably it will say something about how much the diet is doing (i just know that it is doing A LOT) However, i wont say the specific dose i am on, though i did that in the original post (now deleted). I will only tell if i change the dose up or down on any of the meds and what it does to me.
  4. Great post David. I would like to hear from/about someone who is taking this med as a daily medication or if Abraham even allows this.
  5. Ralphy> are you sure you are not saying too much about the trial? Besides, are you sure that it is the same trial going on now?
  6. So i guess the obvious one next is, are you still taking the substance as part of your daily routine? If you felt completely normal i guess it would be hard to just let it go.
  7. Hope> when you say that you felt normal, does that mean that you were visual free as well?
  8. My Keppra story, you'll get your answers there.
  9. Well since i feel that the meds have helped me out so much, pretty much symptom free, and i can now keep going on with my life i will start studying Religion in Gothenburg City. This is not a theological education but a philosophical direction which will hopefully leave me with a master in religion. First 1 1/2 year is on the university with mandatory courses then i might ask to get a year abroad on some institute. and write the my exam paper at the University. Just two more years after that
  10. I was thinking about removing that message but let it be...i am thinking about Lucid is angry with Dr. Abraham or the med. industry and that Abraham "represents" that industry. Just trying to rationalize about what you are trying to say because really, this guy and David are the only people who dedicated their career to our cause. No matter what i do not care about the reason why they do it as long as something good comes out of it.
  11. Can you say if the med is a trial med or pharm aproved? I can wait since i am already on a successful treatment but if it is a trial med that would indicate that it'll be a lot longer before it could be used in general therapy (if the results are successful.)
  12. Nothing is wrong there Larry, it was the last reply before i moved your topic to the right section. I created a link to the the new section in the old one so that no one will think it was removed. Though it will no longer update new posts in the old section.
  13. There is a lot of things not right with the forum, i hope David can get on it or hand it over to someone wit the time to fix it.
  14. Well, i have learned a lot about myself since i got HPPD, Why i felt the need to do drugs, why i pushed my friends away and especially why i behave(d) like i did. In the beginning i thought that it would be impossible to get threw life without psychs but in the end it all came down to filling a hole. A hole that had it roots with the lack of love. Dropping acid/shrooms/xtc etc. is easy but actually working for a meaningful life and walking the rough path to fulfillment that only applies to you is much more rewarding.
  15. Just a question more before saying anything else, did you feel this WD before using Nucynta?
  16. For how long have you been on the benzo?
  17. Ok, if those are your symptoms and nothing else has come up then you should def. taper off the meds. Especially the benzo if the valerian root makes a difference. Don't be scared about that schizo fear. I think we all have had that but it goes away once you been on the edge a couple of time and then finding out that you'll be fine. Good luck!.
  18. Agreed with Jay, if your hospitalization was just for monitoring if you brought this up due to anxiety, get off the meds if you can and your docs are willing to stand by it. If no improvement you can always jump on the meds if they help.
  19. I was going to study in santa barbara but im havig seconds thoughts about it. Its four years to get the bachelor degree where the two first years are on a low level. I do not know if i wanna study for four years in a country im not sure i will live in. On the other hand the selection to the top programs here is cruel. I could get a med degree in US but no way in sweden.
  20. Well the fins took the wc, thats ok but 1-6???? Wtf. Its a small one called "Nyköpings hockey" you can check it out on eliteprospects, type it in on team search without the "ö" .Three years ago we took a financial hit and was demoted to the third division were we still trying to get the organization back on track. In 04/05 during the lockout we we were in the qualification for the first league but now there is a different story. Spectators when the team was doing great was about 6000 which is ok for a team that does not play in a top european league, i guess.
  21. Yeah we won that game. The Chech where better the first period but then Sweden took command. So its the final against the fins at sunday whom beat the russians in their semi. Kinda interesting that both Kanada and Russia whom boath had top players from NHL are out. Both Sweden and Finland handpicked unknown players. But yeah, if the reds would have been out of the stanley cup earlier i wouldn't have said no to Lidström, Zetterberg, Holmström, Kronwall and Ericson. Thats a line-up good as any in the top hockey. Btw, ovechkin was a huge disapointment for the russians. Didn't do a thing for his team.
  22. In one way yes, they needed to make me accept going to the doc and treat my condition. They made the calls etc. I was so low at that time.
  23. Great topic. Well my parents had to take care of me for a week pre HPPD since i took some speed (nasty drug, only did it once and im glad) at the time when i dropped that bad ecstasy that gave me HPPD. I couldn't take the WD of the speed, well it wasn't proper WD since i i only did it once but i had tremendous anxiety. So they new bout my drug use. I thought they would not understand but they never blamed me for anything. I guess they sorta just accepted it all and wasn't surprised that something else came out of it. Of course, at that time no one new that it was HPPD but that was clear later in the process with docs. I do not know your situation with your parents but i think the only way is to be serious and say that you made a mistake and now going threw some difficult times that is hard to explain. If they are good parents they will appreciate your honesty more then being angry for a mistake in your youth. My father read up on HPPD on some papers i gave him and he understood more what was going on.
