  1. Hahahahahaha guess there is no hope for recovery then
  2. I hope you will keep us posted then do you have ghosting and starbursting as one of your symptoms by chance? i ask because these are my two worst symptoms i would be very happy to do away with if i cant get rid of them all. i'm hoping keppra may be able to eliminate them :S
  3. My ghosting gets worse with a cold, thats about it. whenever my vision is broken from something like watery eyes from sneezing, dirt my hppd visuals get a little worse. they always go back to base line when whatever is obstructing my eye is gone. So when you get better they should go back to normal/baseline
  4. I know its early days, but besides the "keppra rage" have you noticed any differences in visuals? I'm am rather keen to give it a go a a lot of people seem to have success with it, i'm just really careful and paranoid about medicating.
  5. Have you found that your ghosting gets stuck on some days and that blinking to reset it doesn't work? yesterday it was constant ghosting for roughly 12 hours, not exactly fun when your in a classroom trying to read. I don't know what could cause it there haven't really been any major changes in the way i eat sleep etc.
  6. Today was one of my shitter hppd days and this has only happened twice (today included) but does anyone else's ghosting sometimes flare up? My ghosting is always present but seems to come out of my right eye more then anything but usually stays at a bearable level and i can normally reset my ghosting by blinking but today it was constant and about a centimetre off of everything i looked at like the first time it happened it subsided towards the end of the day, My left eye was fine no ghosting what so ever( All other visuals still present). Also had fairly bad eye wobbles from that eye as well not sure if connected. Has anyone else had this happen to them? That there ghosting is stronger on some days? Why is it that it only seems to come out of one eye instead of both?
  7. Yeah in the beginning i obsessed about it, i even considered blaming others like my friend who gave me the pill and even the bartender who refused to serve me making me go to pills instead of alcohol. Fucked up ay? lol I've accepted it now, its my fault this happened and there is nothing i can do to change it all i can do is manage it. I'm doing quite well now since coming to terms with my visuals. One thing that does bug me sometimes is trying to remember what it was like to have normal perception, i sometimes think i may have always seen things this way just not noticed it.
  8. I'd get the date my hppd triggered across my knuckles to remind me of when my life got flipped and thrown into shit haha that is if i have any room left once im finished with my current projects
  9. yeah, my doc was the same back when my hppd first started, wouldnt give me anxiety meds in the end i just gave up, i think if you can learn to do without them and manage it you will be better off in the long run although that being said i would love something to get rid of a few of my visuals but oh well...we're gonna be like this for a while by the looks of it may as well try to live with it. I had a pretty bad anxiety attack triggered from anger yesterday at work which wasn't to fun, shit got wierd so i know the feeling but i pushed through it and am ok...FOR NOW! lol
  10. Just like 2CB you think your done tripping then BOOM another wave hits you hard lol Hppd is always worse when you first wake up, if its passed i wouldnt worry about it. The more you think and stress out about it the more intense its gonna be, RELAX! Occupy yur mind with something else, anything!
  11. I was a heavy binge drinker well alcoholic before this i found while i was drinking my hppd would be non existent except for thevisual snow when i was in a dark room. The hangovers were hell! way worse then i remember, visual symptoms would increase a lot and i found i wasnt right for days after. I would always recover but i found my visual symptoms increased on a subtle level permanetley until they were where they are now i.e i now have starbursts and ghosting where i did not when it started. I was drinking for roughly 9 out of the 11months ive had hppd before i decided to ditch the habit i used to love. my visual symptoms have not gotten worse since i stopped drinking. Be careful dude, if you notice slight changes in symptoms, STOP! Everyone is different though
  12. I really didn't realize i had dp/dr till i confirmed it with this forum by talking about what i feel when these attacks happen, i thought it was all just hppd. My dp/dr must be quite mild though (the attacks are still intense yet rather short, the feeling that everything is a flat image is constant though, if i focus too long) the last one i had which was yesterday i was talking to a customer at work and i just got this wave of dizziness then everything around me sort of warped out and things just didn't look the way they are supposed to, i felt like i was floating, the difference is subtle but its a strong feeling that something just isn't right with everyone and everything around you, most of all yourself. The key is holding down your anxiety, telling yourself you will be fine and realizing that its just an attack and grounding yourself with your surroundings and self. Thats how i always push through it. It is fuckin' scary though!
  13. I am very curious about the brain and how it works since my hppd started but its all just so advanced for me to comprehend some of the information i read. I'm kinda scared to try any sort of med, knowing that it could either go one way or the other (Bad to worse, bad to good) I was also quite anxious in the beginning until i researched hppd a bit and found this forum, which was when it first started but i never signed up since reading about others experiencing the same things i do, when my visual symptoms play up i no longer freak out at the drop of a hat and have a full blown panic attack, i believe stopping drinking has also alleviated some of my anxiety not to mention stopped increasing/creating new symptoms i.e starbursting (something i only recently developed) I guess i should try get in touch with my neuro's again and maybe look further into dopamine and medications, i really don't like going there though, they never give me any answers nor do they know anything about hppd i walk out unsatisfied and with substantially less money. I shouldn't be the one guiding them to help me it should be the other way around.
  14. My headache is slowly coming back today. sucks. That sort of flew right over my head lol, what do you suggest? I go back to my neuro or neuro op and get them to look into the thalamus? I try to avoid going to them as they don't really help much and cost a lot of money. i would only go back if its a definite solid lead on what the problem may be. May i ask how you know so much? lol i've read many of your posts and you seem to be rather clued in like a doctor or something or do you simply just do your on research?
  15. Thats great news, i would love to hear a report from someone with more visual symptoms particularly starbursts, ghosting and after images to hear about the meds effects on that aspect of it and whether or not the positive changes are permanent or a temporary fix to the problem.
  16. I've never considered that the issue of my migraines and hppd could be seperate. That may be the case then. The temporary blindness only happened on the intial migraine that i believe triggered my hppd, lasted for about half an hour. I do get blurred or "watery" vision if something is in my eye, eyelash, dirt etc. it also happens when i have my sunnys on and they aren't clean my ghosting seems to increase a fair bit. Yes, actually the right is worse then the left. I discovered this one day when i had double vision in the right eye for a whole day by alternating my left and right eyes closing one, opening the other. Most of my ghosting seems to come out of my right eye and its a lot blurrier/ fuzzier. The snow is most intense in my right eye when i wake up and have had lack of sleep, its thick to the point where it actually looks like a television on an untuned channel but it always passes. My vision was perfect before hppd, physically my eyes are still fine according to my neuro ophthalmologist, so it must be something to do with the drugs fucking with my brain.
  17. I've had this from the start pretty much, i never realised it was dr though until now. You see objects or people as if nothing can exist behind what you cannot see like it has no dimensions, like it is all completely flat. i'll look through an open doorway and it looks kinda like a tv, an image rather then something you can actually pass through, its wierd but doesn't bother me at all.
  18. I still have intense dreams but not where it bothers me anymore, your not going crazy dude i know exactly what your talking about, last time i drank which was back near the end of febuary a few days after the booze sesh, i had one of those dreams within a dream withing a dream it was layered like an onion and i couldnt get out lol the dream was me being in the actual room i was in and constantly hearing the footsteps of my friend outside the room, the doors in the room would open as if someone was coming in but no one was there. When i woke up i was still in the dream, it became hard to tell what was real and when i finally really woke up i was quite confused. That was the last intense expierence of that strange shit ive had to endure, since ive stopped drinking my dreams are still pretty intense but i can tell whats real and what isnt and it does not bother me as when it first began.
  19. Floaters and snow were my first symptoms, i figured the first migraine must of fucked shit up in my head but then the after images started along with bad anxiety, took me a while to figure out it was hppd. I also get that pain behind the eyes sometimes but not as much as the pain in the front of my head and temples. A cloudy day is great for me, less sunlight less starbursts, if thats what you mean by weather changes. Sunglasses did help in the beginning reduced the floaters, vs was more noticable but mine is subtle compared to what others have described on here( its only bad if i wake up in the middle of the night, its thick layer of black snow) My starbursts go right through the sunnys but it protects me from the after images a lot better. yeh reflections seem a lot brighter, if i squint i can see the rays of light coming straight into my eye, best way to describe it would be like a laser. i think this might have something to do with the ghosting i have.
  20. The starbursting is a symptom of mine that has only appeared within the last 2 months, by far one of my worse symptoms. it is constant with a headache or without but i have noticed lately since the starbursts started my headaches are worse, could it be something to do with the constant flashing from the starbursts perhaps? Or stress of the constant visuals? My headache seems to be gone now but know doubt it will be back, it was going for 3 days... the migraines/headaches i get now are not as severe as when my hppd first triggered ( Do not cause the partial blindness) they just last a long time and are quite painful. i still do see the wierd zig zag in the corner of my eye from time to time but it goes away rather then crossing my vision, i don't know its wierd
  21. Lights appear bigger have massive auras around them and look similar to stars, makes it hard to see at night with all the headlights, street lights etc. causes nasty after images. The worst part about it is that its visible during the day when the sunlight reflects off cars or lights reflecting off jewelery, it catches your eye so you cant help but look at them and then bam! afterimage. I've been training myself to try not look at them but its hard lol I can't go outside on a bright day without sunnys on and even then they are still very noticeable. i'd do anything to be rid of it!
  22. No, i am in Australia. I will go to my doctor and see what they can do though about getting fiorinal. Well the initial migraine was like the ones you see in google images zig zag that crossed my vision, i get the halos around lights as well and when my hppd first started i noticed an aura around words when i was reading. http://hppdonline.com/index.php?/topic/805-introduction-my-symptoms-please-read/ < that is my introduction to the forum, it describes how i came about to realise i have hppd, a little bit of my drug history etc.
  23. STARBURSTS! Without hesitation the fuckin' starbursts! I can deal with every other symptom, ghosting, Vs, after images etc but starbursts take the cake, most annoying symptom didn't even have it when my hppd first started
  24. Oh ok, well how would i go about obtaining fiorinal? Would it be an over the counter medicine? i'll give it a go. My migraines have only sent me blind in my left eye once, it was the zig zag kaleidoscope thing which passed across my field of vision and took 30mins to come back, that was the day i believe my hppd was triggered. Other then that i constantly see an aura around everything (The aura symptom lead me to information about visual migraines) and sometimes i will have a blind spot in the corner of my vision, kinda looks like water trapped under plastic, i'm not sure how i would describe it.
