isness
Drugs that need to be further explored for HPPD/VSS Pathology Research PerampanelAMPA Glutamate Antagonist 1 positive anecdote of 90% curing HPPD known to have negative psychiatric side effects following glutamate theory it makes sense to try it.. also AMPA antagonists are new so they havent really been tested. Xenazine / TetrabenazineMonoamine Depletor 1 positive anecdote of 90% curing HPPDMakes sense it would help following Serotonin 5ht2a theory. it depletes all the things known to make HPPD/VSS worse (monoamines).. Serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine and adrenaline... PimavanserinSelective Serotonin 5ht2a antagonist may be expensive I think this one is obvious. Hallucinogens agonize the 5ht2a receptor so the problem might lie there. Maybe the dopamine actions in other anti-psychotics are whats making some people worse in the long run. This drug is extremely selective to the 5ht2a receptor unlike other anti-psychotics. 1
Mike
Primavanserin does seem like an obvious no brainer concerning HPPD/VSS. Probably a lower dosage over, I don't know, six months or something. Sort of surprising nobody has gone there.

Jay1
Seems Pimavanserin is not available in the UK, shame.
Fawkinchit
In glutamate theory the neurons are theoretically lost, taking a glutamate antagonist or even reverse agonist would not remediate the loss of said neurons. It could however be a potential treatment for symptoms.
