  1. So how is the keppra working out for you ?

It's working great! As of now I've been on Keppra for approximately five months and all my visuals are non existent. I don't see "sky worms" or snow in the dark anymore. It truly is quite nice! Also, my pdoc and myself thought it would be a good Idea for me to go back on wellbutrin, because the medication has helped me with my ADHD issues and anxiety in the past. I've been on that med for a month now, and it did the trick once again. It has helped a lot with speech issues too; stuttering, mixing up words, saying words backwards, ect ect, ect! Also, the wellburtin hasn't had any impact on my visuals. :D

  2. I've said that sooo many times. Cancer, you live or you die. Its more clean cut than hppd. I've also had the whole 'would I rather have one limb, be blind, deaf, fuckin Ebola virus or whatever convo with myself when I'm really bad as well. And I prob would to be fair. But when you come out the troughs you think 'fuck sake, get a grip' lol. But then on the news tonight, a 18 year old girl having her party in a wine bar had a cocktail that had dry ice for aesthetic effect (can't mind the name for dry ice chemical wise, Heids well slow tonight...hydrogen??) and the chemical hadn't abated and she suffered damage to her stomach and had to have it fully removed. At 18. That's a right bastard. Shit goes down as well outwith LSD and psychedelics. Were all unlucky as fuck but There's other unlucky fuckers out there.

very, very true. but again, I rather lose my hand than have this haunting me for life.

  3. Thanks a lot. Feeling more hopeful. A bit worried, as the psychiatric side effects sound real and dangerous (rage, depression, etc.) but with such positive reviews it's definitely worth a shot.

My doctor said only a small percent of people get the infamous "keppra rage", and if you do perhaps experience negativity, the side effect should dissipate within a month. It's just your bodies way of getting use to the medication.

  4. Ah, Blue Moon is the best!

Anyway, I think I used to have a bit of social anxiety. Definitely had generalized anxiety growing up, and this filtered into my social interactions.

Truth is, you're still very young. In my early twenties I just naturally became a bit more genuinely confident, comfortable in my own skin. Even in the bowels of HPPD despair, I still have the tools I gradually learned to handle social situations. Maybe just give it a bit of time, don't be too hard on yourself (as in, going over everything you did after a social encounter. Say, "That was a good practice run!" and let it go. People really don't notice if you're uncomfortable, and if it's not a great connection, that says just as much about them as it does about you.) Just give it a bit of time/practice/patience.

And yes, I keep telling myself, "Once this DR shit clears up, life with be a piece of cake!" Although I know all of my old fears/insecurities are waiting for me on the other side (should the other side prove attainable for me :P )

Thanks for the reply, and idk maybe I am being a little too hard on myself, but it just sucks. All I want to do is to be able to talk to people face to face and not worry about saying things wrong or stuttering ect ect ect. It is just so disheartening because my thoughts are so clear within my mind, but when I go to say things I sound like the village idiot. Maybe other people don't pick up on it, but that really doesn't matter because I know I do and that's what counts.

  5. I gotcha now mg! I was sleepy when I was reading this thread >.<- MG

I say things backwards still, use wrong words and say words that sound like the word I wanted to say, but not as often as I did a year ago. I use to make a full out of myself every other sentence before I started keppra, but currently I'll make a tiny slip up 4-5x a day. Luckily, no one really notices my slip, unless I point it out.- myrslingerbult

  6. qi gong is like yoga/tai-qi/type of activity .........even used as an alternative to chinese medicine. Qi gong utilizes your vital energy/life energy/internal power/the air around you.

Nootropics includes a huge amount of drugs. I'm interested in what is the basic attitude/goal of a naturopath?

I'll have to check that out! Noortopics are a "drug," that cause no harm to your body as they are designed to allow both hemispheres of the brain to work as one, without any advise side effects.

I'll get back to your second question later, I could ramble on about it for hours, but my hands hurt and I am ZzZz

  7. Word, though it would be lovely if she stayed and posted as a reminder that you can get better (With keppra...)

I'll chime in every now and then, there is hope for all of you. Keppra, exercise, healthy diet, reading and ect..cured me, but one won't know if it will work for one unless you try. :) Also, I wouldn't spend too much time on this forum, it gets kinda depressing at times..go read a book, go for a walk, just do normal shit guys.

  8. Blue moon with a wedge of orange is my favorite type of beer, I don't drink as often as I once did for obvious reasons though. Anyways, mg- I think I am going to hold off on the ANTI D's for awhile and give nootropics another shot and getting back on some vitamins that I use to take a few months back when I had full fledged hppd. Something about taking any type of anti d doesn't sit well in my stomach...most likely because I am going to school to become a naturopath, plus I know they're supplements out there that work a lot better than modern day meds that don't produce any negative side effects. That's just my 2 cents though.

  9. ^^^^ Do you still use drugs??? Like recreationally??? I know this isn't related to the thread, I'm just curious. I really miss drugs:(......the last few shows I've been to I was stone cold sober.

Yes, only because my visuals are gone. I smoke a bowl about ever other night to relax and wind down, drink about 3x a month and usual use about 2mgs of a benzo a week....all taken recreationally. BUT, I never will touch lsd/shrooms/2C drugs again, the only drug I could see myself doing in the far future is MDMA at shows, but that won't happen for a year or so. HPPD has taught me how to have respect for any drugs.
