I need advice

Recommended Posts

Okay Within the past 6 months I’ve started smoking weed mostly because it would really help my chrons disease and the pain I have to endure, about 4 months ago I tried lsd and it good, but I smoked some weed while on the peak and it was the weirdest experience ever, I was so dissociated and felt I was going through some sort of strange psychosis, it was horrible and scarring, after the experience I went back to normal and everything was fine but after this smoking weed has been terrible. I was getting flashbacks of the experience and weird memories from my childhood and very bad paranoia and anxiety when I smoked until eventually I got extremely severe derealization and depersonalization, I stopped weed for a month or two and tried again when the dpdr wasn’t so bad and it the anxiety wasn’t that bad at all. After this I tried mushrooms for the first time and it wasn’t a bad experience but I felt as though I was undergoing a full trip with ego death when I only took 1.5 grams, everyone thought I was faking lol. But the experience did help me quit the weed habit. After this I have had very blurred vision even though the dpdr isn’t that bad, I’m not sure if it’s visual snow or not, I haven’t had any other symptoms like hppd but I do see things moving when I concentrate and when I’m in the dark things move and breathe a noticeable amount and slight light sensitivity. It has been about over a month l since the mushroom trip, my question is, am I developing hppd?? I’ve read about it and I’m scared I messed up myself permanently, can anyone advice? Thank you so much!

I've always called the phase where you have to focus to see visuals as pre-hppd. You are clearly very susceptible to hppd, but I don't think you have it and avoiding drugs will probably let you fully heal.

Blurred vision is not a symptom of hppd, have you had you eyes checked?

No I haven’t gotten my eyes checked, I assumed it was either early hppd or the derealization as my eyesight was perfect and changed when it happened. I’ll be sure to check them out then! Also I have a question, with hppd, I never see individuals that’s are 30 and over now getting it, it’s usually from teens to mid 20s, I’m 23, is this true that only within these age brackets it’s possible to get hppd, maybe because your brain is still developing? Or can you get it at any age?

I imagine it is just that most people starting to really experiment with drugs are in their teens or early twenties, so that is why the statistics show HPPD mostly coming from that age range. There might be a lessened chance of getting it once you brain is fully developed, but I am sure there is still a chance. Not enough research has been done to say anything with any certainty.
