HBB
Jesus christ that is an unbelievably accurate representation of visual distortions I have encountered, and still do to a lesser degree. I think this would help anyone who wants to explain to friends or family what the visual distortions actually look like.
VisualDude
Notice that the illusion is based on the brain trying to process inconsistent shading (contrast perception) Here is another one: If you concentrate and 'widen' your visual attention to 'see' the whole thing, the wheels stop (and the letters above stop too)

shaolinbomber
Yep. That waving and shifting around is exactly what I get in my peripherals and I hate it. I could only look at that for a few seconds.
Br0k3nS41nt
That is how my computer screen used to warp, blackboards used to do that as well. Generally though the movement I have perceive d was always more uniform than that my whole field of vision used to sway up and down, now that I think of it trees used to warp like that and the ground would breath. None of that happens now apart from the occasional wobble, just the normal static, image burnins and depersonalization for me.
