  1. Thanks for the detailed update, sounds pretty positive so far. I'll definitely be following this closely but I'll try and keep annoying questions to a minimum. No pressure matey.
  2. I've looked at something similar myself, possibly to be used in conjunction with medication. I'll be interested to hear how you get on with this, although I imagine it will take a fair amount of time for any benefits to occur.
  3. I pretty much discontinued after the last post- no changes and it only takes a short amount of time to know if it will be effective. Maybe Donepezil next...
  4. Okay, one week in and still no improvements. Side effects have worsened slightly. I don't think this one is going to work for me. If anyone else is interested in this medication it is discussed in the paper I recently posted and there is a link to the original study that describes its efficacy in treating visual snow.
  5. Ha, no it hasn't killed me. It hasn't really done much of anything yet. I was expecting the side effects to be quite bad but so far all I've experienced is some mild tingling and numbness. No effect on visuals. I've just doubled my dose to 500mg.
  6. Coke significantly exacerbated my symptoms. I would urge you not to try it, not even once. You should know by now that one time is all it takes and that it is really not worth the risk.
  7. With all the talk of pro-cholinergic drugs, has anyone tried, or have any thoughts on, donepezil?
  8. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3181850/ Describes the similarities and differences between cholinergic and serotonergic hallucinations.
  9. There are a couple, yeah. Young, C. R. (1997). Sertraline treatment of hallucinogen persisting perception disorder. Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, 58(2), 85-85. Reports the case of a 22-yr-old man who presented with hallucinogen persisting perception disorder and symptoms of mild depression 6 mo after discontinuing the use of LSD. Antidepressant treatment was begun with sertraline, until a target dose of 100 mg was reached. Mild exacerbations of the LSD-like phenomena were noted for 2-4 days after each dosage increase. Within 1 mo of reaching the target dose the perceptual disturbances decreased until they had almost completely remitted, and the depressive symptoms also improved. It is hypothesized that hallucinogen persisting perception disorder is serotonergically mediated, and that sertraline initially exacerbates the perceptual disturbances, but attenuates them after chronic administration. 10. Oh, and a merkin is a pubic wig! Get the guy's name right.
  11. I thought it might be levity but I wasn't sure. It's genuinely hard to tell with you. And more insults? Keep this up and I shall complain to the moderators! If you're going to make such accusations you should probably post a link to the thread so that people can decide for themselves. http://hppdonline.com/index.php?/topic/2055-way-off-the-deep-end-with-no-way-back-in-sight/#entry16159
  12. Yeah, if unrelated claims from some nutty broad in a tabloid newspaper don't prove the usefulness of meditation with regards to HPPD I don't know what will.
  13. Haha. You disappear for ages and then come back with a "this might kill you" warning, "but do it anyway". You want me dead, don't you? But yeah, where would we be if people hadn't guinea pigged themselves? I'll take one for the team.
  14. At least it hasn't been a complete waste of time then.
  15. Bless you for trying to get this back on topic.
  16. Ahaha. Where the hell have you been?! I've not demanded an explanation, I've just challenged your idiocy. All I asked in this thread that set you off is "How would increased bloodflow "exercise" your organs? And why would internal oragans need exercising (or massaging) anyway? And what on earth would that have to do with HPPD?" If you're too much of a baby to handle questions like that (and it was just a question, not a demand; either you're too stupid to tell the difference or you're trying rhetorical tricks here) then maybe you shouldn't be on a public forum.
  17. As far as I know no one on this forum has tried this medication (but please chime in if you have). I have just been given a two weeks' prescription and I will use this thread to document any improvements in symptoms or side effects.
  18. Again, what have I told others they must do? Also, "in the meantime keep responding if you feel the need to prove my point to them further. or do the sensible thing and stop being an ass and just ignore me and i'll ignore you like nice civil human beings should be able to do. if you cant just do that then all you are doing is showing that all you want is an argument". Or, "you're a troll for responding but I'm not, and let me get the last jab in or your uncivil but I'm not uncivil if I keep responding". I fear you might be undermining your complaint.
  19. What have I told others that they must do? And why are you trying to continue this?
  20. I don't want an argument but I won't be told what to do by you. With the exception of two retaliatory words in one post I'm entirely satisfied with how I've behaved. If you feel you behaved appropriately, fine. Let the moderators decide.
  21. Did you report how you started throwing multiple insults?
