db123 Posted February 4, 2016 Report Posted February 4, 2016 So my onset was about 4 months ago but recently I've noticed that I've been kinda sensitive to sounds. Is this normal? Should I go get my ears checked? It's really worrying me because typically my other symptoms are not really that severe but this is driving me crazy
Mr.50's Posted February 4, 2016 Report Posted February 4, 2016 This recently started happening to me, I believe it means I have a hypersensitive brain but also since that has gotten worse my depersonalization has to
TheGman6072 Posted February 4, 2016 Report Posted February 4, 2016 I am mildly autistic so I have always been sensitive to sounds because of hypersensitivity disorder but in the past several months, if I get startled, sometimes it causes me to start breathing heavy
Gaz Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 I have this too and usually get it when I am having derealization symptoms as well. I remember when I was tripping that my hearing was affected and sounds seemed to be massively amplified and distorted just like my vision was. All your senses can be affected by psychedelics so in theory any sense can be affected by hppd. I think it is just a sensitivity problem that will slowly return to baseline with time and sobriety.
Purps Posted March 2, 2016 Report Posted March 2, 2016 This happens to me rather often but I work somewhere in which the building echoes pretty bad. I'm there at night, lights off and alone for a couple hours. It can get really bad to the point where I'm thinking about finding something else. Out paid really well though and I don't think anyone knows. I've also heard what I can only describe as a digital filter on my hearing. Like when neo gets sucked out of the matrix....
trip into hell Posted March 2, 2016 Report Posted March 2, 2016 its an anxiety symptom resulting from over awareness...i have an anxiety disorder and had to deal with this one before. btw. dp/dr is also an anxiety symptom (defending mechanism from the brain)
Kellen Posted March 19, 2016 Report Posted March 19, 2016 My ears are super sensitive to sound and I also get that digital effect. Almost like a crinkling kinda sound. I saw possibly the two loudest band is have ever seen two nights in a row and my tinnitus is raging I'm really freaked out. Normally it would go away but as soon as they stopped playing I could hear my tinnitus above everything and it's like screaming at me today Still. Fuck is hope I haven't permanently increase it
