  1. Hey, thanks for your story! As far as your confusion when whether to start weed again in the future here's what I have experienced. It took me around 1.5 to 2 years to feel very normal again. Mental clarity and cognitive function was fine. I was also able to consume alcohol and nicotine completely normally with. When my hppd was the worst i didn't even want to touch alcohol because of how much it made my visuals worse and jus made me mentally so damn foggy and anxious. Once I was basically cured, apart from minor visuals and occasional minor episodes of brain fog and anxiety, I was so damn happy. I finally felt normal again. It was great. This lasted for around 8 months. All of this excitment caused me to wonder if I could try weed again. I hadn't touched it for a long time. It had been 2.5 years with my hppd. So I took 2-3 puffs of a joint. The high was ok. Got paranoid and visuals did increase. But the consequences were a lot. It has been about 6 months and I am still recovering from those 3 hits of weed. It caused me to avoid caffeine and acohol. acohol would seriously screw me up. It was weird because a week before the weed I was totally fine and enjoyed drinking. It made visuals increase and axietey is still very intense. mental clarity totally sucks right now. Basically, I would strongly advise staying away from weed. Recovery is great but don't let it trick you into thinking that your brain can handle drugs again. This is just my opinion and experience.
