  1. Coke can make you worse for a while, i know some people say that they got lasting worsenings from alcohol. So, you tolerate alcohol that a lot of us doesnt, i would tolerate a gram of Coke but not even a couple of beers. Its just different, i think and hope yours will go away,

When i say that i tolerate Coke it means that i could do it but would get intensified symptoms for a couple of weeks,

    BS drug anywy

  2. I feel you on the social part. Though you are exactly a decade longer in this Journey. While i am younger, i do no longer believe that this will go in to remission by its own. Perhaps there will be a cure in the future, perhaps not.

It really is like a candle faded and another one started when i got HPPD. I miss the old me but at the good times i catch a glimpse of it. I will never be back to my old self since i cannot do all the stuff that was a part of me, the part that got me HPPD Btw.

But how do we manage? We co-op, try anything to get a better life even if that means starting a new one.

  3. Ok, so i am out. I was standing at a bridge, i was very depressed. Though i didn't intend to jump, someone called the police. I was going my way home and they missed me but i was embaressed of all the fuzz so i went back and talked to them and they took me in. Went to the doc and said that i really didn't want to go to the psych ward and that my family was on the way. The doc forced me though so i had no choice.

Went there and was released during the weekend and went for rest with my family in the north of Sweden (amazing landscapes).

I am at the beach writing this from my home and everything is a lot clearer to why things escalated. I have been going on at a job that i hate, almost no friends, no co-workers at my job.

I am gonna change my life completely, wont care about making a career. I am going to either study what i want to or change my job to something that works. Travell, look for potential friends etc.

It was more of an exhausting mental crash coming from HPPD that brought me to the edge.

  4. If there'll be a ADHD/ADD poll, the question must be if one has been diagnosed and not think they have it. I was diagnosed post-HPPD when conducting a lot of tests due to HPPD. Problem solving etc. gave me ADD on paper.

Meditation and low-carb diets works very well for some.

The best is a high dose magnesium supp imo

On Keppra, i do acknowledge some of what you are talking about, Visual. Still its not that easy, my anx is gone and though i am not careless I am carefree. Not sure if i want to "feel" too much. Thats probably why i still hesitate to lower my dose. That as well as getting temporary worse again. And getting more emotions back :P

Keppra is indeed a two-edged sword. Makes me more focused but less interested in creative things. Flatlined...

  5. I am not gonna go into this too much but there is nothing about these claims that makes sense. Why we see what we do is because neurological changes that has been explained numerous times. Posted a vid not long ago about just how illusions and hallucinatons appear while intoxicated with drugs etc. Its nothing magical, its just how the brain can manifest itself

  6. Giving all those things up the same time maybe is too much, however you will get result from this trial for sure. If, and i medan if, you cant take it maybe try to gradually cut the cig and caf before the fasting. But as said, you will probably get great results.

  7. For me, tripping means being on a hallucinogen. I don't connect it to any other drug or experience... People have taken the word into mainstream language... But, for me at least, it is purely associated with hallucinogens.

If I had to break that mindset down, it would be 3 part

Sensory - all the usual visual suspects, plus auditory hallucinations

DP/DR - The disconnect from reality you mention, including the expansion/contraction of time.

Thought process - Looking into every corner of your mind. Sub concious thoughts bubbling to the surface.

Wow! You have that? I know that ours are very different but thats not my symptoms.

I have positive symptoms which are the visuals, meaning things are added. Like trails, VS, those blue dots etc. However no patterns, though i do recall having some of that before getting on my meds while looking at the pavement etc...but just a little.

When it comes to the emotional stuff its all described in negatives. Like not feeling anything, not wanting to do anything, not having concept of time, etc.

90% of this has been temp. resolved with meds.

  8. Since this is the only thing that makes me crippled in my daily life, i wonder what is really the issue. I do believe that being in closed environments can affect some people. Like drinkning a cup of coffe makes me feel like i am on a weird CS-high for hours, just a small amount of active compounds, not even reaching the threshold for servering it on a urine test, can cause some effects of feeling high.

That happened to me at a club in Tel Aviv where everyone was litting up in a club that was supposed to be smoke free. It also happened to me in freetown in copenhagen.

However, just smelling it makes me and others om this board worse for atleast a month. I do not believe that this has to do with the brain receiving active compounds enough to cause a reaction. I could be wrong here.

But what is causing that reaction? Anxiety? Could be so because past experiences. I remember the first time i smoked weed post HPPD and didn't get a high from it but still got very anxious.

Another thing could be that the brain send a signal that weed is available, sorta like pavlovs dogs, causing the brain to focus on just that.

What it might be i do not know but i would gladly get rid of this issue. I have been thinking about the cannabis insence thing that Jay recommended. Just gotta make sure there is no CBD or other thing in that stuff. Smell it til you overcome the fear.

  9. i dont think carb restriction is the same as full fasting - i think you need to stop protein intake too.  Perhaps fast with pure coconut oil and water if you want some energy.  I dont know what benefits or otherwise occur from micronutrient restriction.  Some fasters supplement with electrolytes i seem to remember.

Yrs, you are right. Proteinet producera some glucose. Good point

  10. JimmyB do you think meditation is something bad?

All these people on boards like this who are talking about medication and that the only cure is to take rest and use no drugs anymore made me wait with the meditation.

3 years of my life were hell.

I used to think that it was "bad" but recognized that its our stressful environment that is bad. That is why meditation is scary to some, to face yourself.

I look at it in a pure scientific approach.

  11. Well, i eat the ketogenic diet which is used to put your body in a mode where you switch from using Carbohydrates as fuel and instead use ketones from fat. It has really improved my HPPD and what it does is that it makes your brain think that you are starving (well, not really) though you can eat the same amount of calories as long as you do it from fat and proteines.

Actually, everyone starts to go into ketogenic state bedore breakfast.

So i am not sure if fasting will cure it but i have no doubt that TS are getting improved symptoms.

Yes, you can fast and it could improve your HPPD but you can also eat ketogenic diets and not go hungry. The later is recommended to those who wanna try it for a longer period (or for life, as I)
