  1. Yes, DP is more a way of loosing the sense of self and not feeling "sad" about it but still you remember what you lost and that can make one depressed.

Never felt multiple. Actually i read that a lot of psychiatrists that does not recognize the existence of this disorder but it is actually something else.

hmm, I've never felt like I had multiple personalities, I just felt like I had no personality.

  2. Been there done that and i would never bash down on anyone self-medicating.

Just remember that things can get better with meds and when you do and you get off the opiates its very hard to recognize yourself and it can be a hit in the face.

Also i didn't have lots of memories that i could recognize myself with from the periods of opiates. Its like three years of haze that has gone by.

But if the option is full blown DP/DR for a long time then i understand anyone doing opiates, at least until you get an option that can make your better (like future meds).

  3. Just wanna notify this. On the old board a person claimed to use meditation to completely remit his symptoms. It was an intense meditation.

I have heard this before about other people as well but more as a hearsay.

I tried this myself as well, what is called mindfulness meditation. I am not talking bout a religious regime.

When i did it, about a year ago with guidance, i was doing it for about 15 minutes.

I was really weird in the beginning and a lot of things was popping up both visual and mentally.

But then i went completely calm and my mind started working slowly and i was really fine for some hours. I did experience some nausea.

Too bad i did it while on medication and the symptoms came back just after a couple of hours. My medication didn't work properly for two months either.

Now, since i am on medication that makes me symptom free and the problem with meditation and meds i have not tried this anymore.

I do not wanna encourage to do this on your own nor while on meds. But since meditation, not just relaxing meditation, but intense focused mindfulness with guidance from a proper teacher and not some random self acclaimed Guru or whatever, possible could help with HPPD.

Its a strong neurological process if done right. If i can get off the meds i will probably try this during a longer period together with my diet.

Wanna ad that it is possible to get underlying psychological progresses that you might now about or even unaware of and it is important that you know how to treat it if comes up.

  4. Keppra 1500mg/day

    Clonazepam 2.25 mg/day

LCHF-diet, potentiate the medication atleast doubled.

100% symptom free from being perm. hospitalized,, only side effect is mood stabilizing, which has both pros and cons. It really happened when i started the LCHF. This will allow me to try to drop the keppra dose to start with to 1000mg/day and then hopefully clonazepam to 1.5mg/day.

Going to study philosophy or religion either here in Sweden

or in california. These meds and food needs 100% soberness to work properly.

Writing from iphone so the spelling might look weird.

  5. I believe it is otc. in Sweden. Not sure but i think thats how i got them, from a healthstore. Actually amazed it worked cuz everything else that works in Sweden is illegal :D

Just remember that it has to be dark around you when you take em.

Works great but i had some weird reaction in the morning so i stopped taking them and my sleep is ok anyway. but this is the safest imo

  6. I would not use zopiclone/zolpidem (Imovane and Stilnoct in your country)

It did effect my HPPD to the worse the day after though i always got better. with time

But it is better then not sleeping at all of course. You may start to hallucinate on these pills. I ran around in my appartement with a couple of binoculars scooping my neighbours only in my underware when i took em..

  7. I know that spirituality thougts is somewhat that comes with HPPD but maybe this isn't supposed to be a recreational forum. I mean, spirituality isn't really HPPD related in itself, though a lot of us have ideas about it.

Atleast, in my opinion, i would like to able able to refeer to this forum to non-sufferers without getting doubts about the serious condition this can be. Subcats like expanded awareness and spiritual might give the board miscredit as we try to batlle/co-op/accept this disorder. Cuz that is in the end what its all about. I do not find these categories, from a medical viewpoint, relevant to this phenomena (HPPD and other perceptual disorders).

But in the end, it is a question what David and the members want, i want information and tools to manage HPPD (which i got from this fourm and made my life worth living).

Just my opinion but such subjects would just as well fit in an off-topic discussion, distinguishe what is relevant for the thing we are all here for. There are multiple boards with spirituality context one can attend if so pleased.

I do agree that a medication categorie would be great since it let us all share ideas and experiences on how to beat or manage this disorder. That is what most visitors (not members) are intereseted in.

Anyway, great to see both of you guys...

  8. Well, first of all i always tell anyone to consult their doc about this.

I am 100% fine. I can do almost anything. If i catch a cold i have some symptoms comming back, same thing if i do excessive physical functions during a long time.

I do believe that the ketogenic did a major difference. So from non-functional on all aspects of life to completely functional and symptom free with Keppra 1500mg, 2.25 mg clonazepam and the ketogenic diet.

Hopefully i can cut my dosees (especially the clonazepam dose) since i am so oblivious to HPPD (unless i catch a cold B))

Hi merkan can you give the board an update on how you are doing with your keppra experience

    cheers robbie
