  1. Hey guys just picked up 500mg pills of magnesium. Couple questions before I take them. What dosage do some of you take and what's safe? Does magnesium interact or stop with other medications? I'm on clonazepam and I also just found out I have walking pneumonia so didn't know if it works badly with antibiotics or not. My depersonalization is getting really bad and read a few people that said magnesium helped with that and the brain fog etc.

Does it work by itself or do I need to get the vitamin B for it to help?

    Thanks

  2. Everyone else have a certain sympyptom that is noticeably worse than the others? Mine are the fogginess/lack of feelings/forget something that happened ten seconds ago and feel confused myself. Chalking that up as depersonalization and it's getting really bad. Has Magnesium helped anybody with any of those btw?

I'm wondering if people are more troubled by the visuals or the dp/dr aspect of this.

  3. Anyone else think they're legitimately going crazy? I know people have had it far longer than five years and honestly the visual stuff I can deal with the dp/dr i feel is legitimately driving me insane. At some point in time I will not be able to deal with it unless something changes and no doctors listen to what med's might help. At a stand still

  4. Have tried melatonin and valerian root. Melatonin had messed up dreams and felt awful like half the day after. Valerian root made me more paranoid. I'm allergy medicines as well antihistamines as well as klonopin for five years yet to your point I'm legitimately scared to take anything for sleep.

  5. I think a dose for using it as a antidepressant is like 300mg, I use to take 25 mg to help me sleep but was prescribed 100. Took 100 the first time thinking it wouldnt do anything and I guess I reacted to it good, I slept for a good 14 hours lol

Alright well I'll give it a try at least.did you feel groggy the next day?if worst comes to worst I'll talk some flexeril.that knocks me the fuck out and I feel like shit the next day though

  6. Going to see neurologist next Wednesday and will ask for flunarizine again. Any other medicines besides lamictal as I'm still concerned with the snow and after images getting worse. I feel in short instances I do feel better but not entirely sure

  7. Well I don't have a scheduled appointment for awhile now he told me stop just if I see a skin rash. Just upped it to 50mg a day to see if it gets better or worse with higher dose. If it gets worse ill call and ask how to get off of it safely

  8. Are those things which you've experienced before on your "worst days", or do you think they're definitely due to Lamictal? Are you experiencing them in addition to the other stuff you noted is worse? And are you experiencing anything better?

The fact is that there's just no way to know whether one drug that's helped others is going to help you or not, or indeed whether it'll make things worse. I know one person on here said that his visual snow got worse with Lamictal, but that was after taking a very high dose of 600mg for quite a while, I believe.

What doesn't help is that there's no definite length of time or definite dose at which you'll know for sure that it's gonna help or not. I've seen people on dpselfhelp say that it took them a few months, that they only really noticed anything at 350mg, etc. It's a gamble. There's the chance that if you're already feeling bad at this dose, higher doses will only make that worse, and taking a month to reach that upper dose only to find that out and have to come off it will suck. But maybe all the shit will subside as you adjust and you will benefit. Maybe after a few months things will start to look up, or maybe you'll just be a few months down the track and exactly the same. At least you'd know for sure that something isn't for you, and be confident moving on to something else.

It's really only very early days for you though, dude. Unless you reach the point that you feel really, really awful and just unable to go on, or symptoms are definitely noticeably exacerbated, i'd say just do your best to take it easy, wait and see.

I can say for sure things started getting worse when I started the lamictal. I haven't read anything to suggest if I keep taking it hppd symptoms will get better. The headaches probably would

  9. Well only on day 10 and last night was the worst night I can remember with hppd. My snow and after images have been getting worse as well. Closed eye visuals are getting more real and starting to hear things. Feel like I should keep taking it but getting worse by the day

  10. Only day 5 and have mixed results. Snow is a little worse along with after images. Sometimes my fogginess,dp/dr is worse and then there are a few minutes of clarity. Also have sharp headaches. Gotta keep taking it to see if those get better.

  11. Both I guess I noticed it before starting lamictal but think it might be a little worse now.also when I look back and forth between two thing each one looks new whenever I see it. I find its hard to describe especially in person.makes it hard to text etc. and just annoying

  12. Well I went and saw my neurologist today and he said he researched depersonalization and stuff and wanted to start me out on lamictal. I actually never heard of it so like with all medicines I searched for it in here and seems promising so I'm gonna start it when I wake up. I've noticed a couple people say visuals got worse while on it, I was wondering if that was permanent or it went away when you stopped?
