What is happening in the brain while the visual abnormalities are being experienced?

Great question.  But here is the thing.  These doctors and experts and scientist know so much more than i do about ...well, science.   I plan on doing a series of video interviews, and hopefully i am able to get some great answers to questions.  What i want to do is make it more accessible to people, and not just scientists.  So i really want questions that don't neccessarily require a scientific answer.
