  1. so i've been taking digestive enzymes to good effect.  But what about brain enzymes?  Could enzyme lack be a factor in hppd?  Cos i'm lazy i've pasted this paragraph from another thread which explains my enzyme background:

[enzymes, on top of my other supps make me] spectacularly clear headed and awake.  My visuals are not very severe anyway so i'm not a great guinea pig for that.  My issues are mainly brain fog/fatigue and head sensations/pressure.  I had brain fog before hppd tho, so maybe i have a leaky gut or some enzyme insufficiency so undigested food is entering my blood which is left for cellular detoxing rather than gut detoxing.  With all that crap in my system my brain maybe wasnt able to process the psychedelic experience and so hppded me from very low dose of mushrooms.  All the supps seem to have the same effect but boost each other - just clearing up my head and grounding me.  It seems strange they are so similar in effect, which suggests either they are working on the same mechanism (poss calcium-glutamate) or just different ways that just end up in generally feeling better.  But now the enzymes are so good, im thinking maybe that is the connection.  All my supps are enzyme cofactors - coincidence?

My supps after long trial and error:

    vit d 5000iu

    vit b bulkpowders formula (uk)

    magnesium oxide (quarter teaspoon)

    acetylcysteine (half teaspoon)

    enzymes.

If i were to recommend one it would be the enzymes, tho the other ones are enzyme cofactors so maybe they work as a group.  I am on nattokinase, serrapeptase, and solgar digestive enzymes.  I think it is the solgar that has the most effect tho its hard to tell.

I'm also trying c60 lipofullerene as a possible epigenetic modifier at the moment but without noticeable effect.  But maybe it will help me live past 100 like that c60 rat experiment.

  4. Well i've still got hppd, but i feel the best i have for years.  I've been much better since discovering NAC and further improved with a few other things on top (mainly vit d, b, and magnesium).  The latest successful addition to my supplement regime has been enzymes.  I now feel totally clear headed, grounded, awake, and physically strong.  I went to a planetarium the other day without any issue at all - in the old days, all that swooping around in space would have given me vertigo anxiety.  Tho i still have the annoying wobbly head sensations and tightness; my visuals were never that bad but they havent got any better.

  5. so initial impression is positive.  I take nattokinase and serrapeptase in the morning on an empty stomach and solgar digestive enzymes with my main meal.  It seems to improve my clarity, wakefulness and mood.  Like nac but better.  I think the digestive enzymes are the most significant but its hard to tell.  My theory is that what gives me brain fog is undigested material getting through a somewhat leaky gut. NAC helps to detox this material, but enzymes stop it in the first place.  Either that or they are stripping a load of proteinous clag that has built up in my body.  No effect on hppd itself tho.

  6. funny you should say that.  I just made myself a winter brew (black tea, a teaspoon of turmeric, plus about a quarter teaspoon each of whatever powders i had in the cupboard - fennel, black pepper, clove, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom) sweetened with xylitol and fattened with cream.  It tasted very nice, but was also pleased with its fortifying effect, similar but additional to nac (which is also an nmda affecting antioxidant).

  7. sorry, another one of my crap links to a subject vaguely related to hppd: http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2013/10/19/grounded-documentary.aspx.  The idea is to spend time with your shoes off or in other ways connected to electrical earth.  Apparently, you tend to become positively charged if you walk around with insulating shoes on, and your body needs negative charge to reduce inflammation etc.  Although it sounds a bit quacky, i can see a possible equivalence to antioxidants and alkalis which are electron donors and tend to be anti-inflammatory; also negatively charged air is more healthy (hence ionisers).

  8. i did a water fast for 5 days, and felt lighter after it, but it didnt affect my hppd.  I have a semi fasting routine now, ie not eating much all day (a few bits of fruit, tea and coffee, maybe a salad or oat buscuits), then big meal around 6-7pm.  Eating makes me a bit groggy so fasting helps keep me sharp, plus its meant to be good for health.
