Whether with medication or time. Need some hope

I got hppd (visual snow syndrome symptoms only) after taking an edible and having a panic attack during the high. This was in November 2022, I got severe brain fog and dpdr December 2022, and visual symptoms January 2022.
Now it's October 2023 and I have had improvement in my depersonalization, but not my visuals, derealization, or severe brain fog. My worst symptoms are mental ones as I'm so slow it's hell on earth, I don't care about my visuals anymore.
Does this post mean that my mental symptoms could be permanent? It makes me so depressed knowing I could've destroyed my entire life and future with an edible. The most important thing to me was my cognition and now my memory is so bad I can hardly remember something from a few hours ago, literally feels like theres a fog/wall in the way. Thinking about staying in this zombie state forever makes me suicidal:(

Not sure if you'll see this cjb007, but we have similar stories. I am 15 and have had constant dpdr and hppd (vss symptoms) for almost 10 months after an edible. I don't care about hppd, only my dpdr. Did yours ever leave?

My dpdr is mild so I have 0 anxiety surrounding it. I've had no anxiety for 9 months yet it is still here and hasn't changed in severity. Is medication the only potential way or can it leave naturally?

Was on lamotrigine 50mg and just after 3 days noticed a visual reduction of around 30-40%. Unfortunately I had to get off of it because I developed a rash, but this medication can be worth it to anyone else:)

I've been on 25mg lamotrigine for 4 days now. No noticeable change to my mental symptoms, my mild visuals worsened a little bit but I don't care since they're so light
any success stories with keppra helping dpdr and brain fog?

i tried lamotrigine but got severe ear worms that distracted me from just talking to people or reading. keppra is basically my last option.
