  1. How long have you had it, has it gotten better, how's life going for you right now?

I've had it for exactly 2 months now. December 29th was the last time I was normal. I have minor visual snow, terrible motion trails and colors and after images are crazy. I can ignore it, that's good. No more DP. Life is okay I guess.

  2. Alcohol gives me my personality back, but the hangover takes me to hell.

I now try and find a good balance. 4-5 beers, if i go out... Then a klonopin the next day. I try not to get blackout drunk, these days.

Hangovers over awful for HPPD but if you day drink and drink a lot of water when you get drunk this can easily be averted, just some advice. I got pretty trashed tester and felt fine but once I came down I had some problems. That went away by this morning though. Sucks being so into drugs and not being able to do them, but recovery is way more important.

  3. Hey HPPD'ers, I was talking to some people in the LSD sub reddit about my condition and some people said that NBOMe has been known among them to cause HPPD / DP/DR for a few months and go away / but all they were, were symptoms. Just the symptoms, but not the actual disorders because of NBOMe. What do you guys think? I was told to "just wait it out", one of them had said it happened occasionally after taking psychedelic NBOMe and he would even trip again after a few months.

I've had it for about 2 months now, just a little less than that, from NBOMe.

  4. When you say, I can't smoke pot, what do you mean? Have you tried and grown worse? I made a post the other day and had no response. I smoked pot for the first time in 8 years. Had HPPD for 15 years, but mostly, has been well controlled. Anyways, after smoking, I noted ALL of my visuals returned - especially floaters! I have become obsessed with staring at them. Also, everything is back to looking 'off'. I blame the pot, but it seems like the symptoms are worsening since smoking 2 months ago. Anybody know if this is a commonality with us HPPDers? Ya think it'll go away? I'm really getting scared!

Well I week after I got HPPD I smoked a shit ton of pot and ended up in a psych ward. It will get better man I pormise but lay off the pot. I hope one day to be able to smoke again but idk if weed will make it come back until you said it will so maybe not haha. I can drink but I think it's not good for recovery because sometimes my symptoms are bad and sometimes they're almost gone.

  5. We will get better guys. I'm lucky. I still have quality of life. I can't smoke weed or anything, but I can ignore my visual symptoms thought the day most the time. I know some of you can't. I'm so sorry. But the human mind has amazing healing repercussions, and if you make the right choices and stay positive, you'll be free in no time. <3

  6. I'm doing much better myself and I'm only a month and 14 days in. I can ignore the visuals 80% of the time, and depersonalization is still there pretty bad when I think about it, but is completely gone when I dont. I think I will recover for sure. I enjoy getting drunk from time to time.

  7. I feel the forum is great, but a little disorganized.

If you're familiar with reddit, it's a really easy to use social website.

Every Friday I will post a new weekly round up for everyone to come and comment and talk to each other about our symptoms and improvement. I don't really expect anyone to join in but I hope at least a few people do! It would be nice I feel to talk to each other in a simple way.

Reddit.com/r/HPPD is the place and I'll post every week either way and hope you all do too. See ya there :)

  8. I still have pretty bad visuals, mostly after image and visual snow, along with streaks of light and what not but those are ignorable a lot of the time.

I know the best way to deal with brain fog is to not think about it, but sometimes I can't help but think to. Like it's reminding me it's their. Any coping strategies? I hope this goes away. :(

  9. I know this is an older post so a late reply but I experience plenty of mood swings since I was diagnosed. It's all part of your personality and anxiety. Surrounding yourself with happy things and doing things that make you happy really is the only way around the empty feeling. Your "3rd eye" makes you understand our lack of purpos as humans. I know exactly what you're experiencing brother.

  10. I've had HPPD / depersonalization since December 30th for sure. I've been to a psychward and have been diagnosed. Doctors have me half milligram pills of Risperidone (I know, makes it worse) but it doesn't make my visuals worse and helps with depersonalization so I take them.

I have discontinued cannabis use. My symptoms aren't nearly as bad as some peoples, I see streaks of light in my main vision, also in my peripheral. I will never trip again or smoke weed.

Would drinking worsen my symptoms / make me not heal? I feel like this will go away but I need to be sure before I drink. I miss getting high I guess but I love drinking so much, however it's Definetly not worth the risk of not recovering. Thanks :) stay happy
