  1. You could be right Skunk44. Alot depends on how long he has had it. But low doses may help some in specific combinations.

No need to be a complete douche-bag.

I read that the starting dose for flunarizine is 10 mg and he's taking 1 mg.  He's also taking 50 mg of Keppra which is really small.

It seems like Survey is attributing the reduction of his symptoms to the combination of Keppra and flunarizine.  He's taking a tenth of the starting dose of flunarizine and about 1/30 the dose of Keppra recommended in the study which is 1500 mg.  I hope these meds do work.  However, it's such a small amount that I feel there has to be other factors involved in how he got better.

  2. My neurologist had confirmed that I have HPPD with Dr. Abraham.  You may be able to get a confirmation Dr. Lerner by email.  I had many test before but the conclusive test was the qEEG which showed symptoms of HPPD.  I tried Keppra but like many I could not take the med.  There were many also that it did not work.
Who is WalpoidaCally and why is he posting these advertisements?  I though David go rid of all the spammers.

  3. Puppeteer,  your brain scans would be normal if you only had HPPD.  This is a known fact.  But given that, doctors don't know what to do when they are or what to say. The one scan that would show something related to HPPD is the qEEG. tt needs to be done and analyzed by someone who knows what rhey are doing.  Mine was done by some such person and showed the HPPD results.  Keppra helps some and many can not take it due to adverse reactions.  I am one of those people.  It is possible that that an online pharmacy can supply you with it.

  4. Yes DA antagonism is why I advised not to use Mirtazapine earlier today. Let me look in my notebook.. Nope, haven't spent much time studying 5-HT.

Other than pointing you to the Wiki, I'll keep an eye out for you.

Interested in prospective treatments? I've got some new findings on VEP P2 latencies linking to cholinergic mechanisms, and possibly more evidence (in the same topic) as to how Coluracetam could improve P2 latencies, ultimately reducing visual distortions. I'd appreciate your ideas Ghormeh!

    onedayillsailagain,,

where and when did you advised not to use Mirtazapine?  And why not use it?

  5. Benzos will probably relieve your anxiety but they should not be taken regularly.  They are very addictive and you would go through hell getting off them.  Excercise is a good habit to get into.  Strenuous excercise sometimes increase HPPD symptoms.  That is why I recommended Chi Kung, especially Chi-Lel.  Yoga is also a good option.  You can purchase DVDs of beginning yoga and Chi-Lel.

  6. I had my wisdom teeth pulled a about 6 years ago.  I had seen on the visual snow board that someone got vs after the surgery.  They used laughing gas I believe so I went with IV benzo.  He was going to add something else but it was another drug I heard was bad so asked just to use the benzo.

  7. qEEG having electrodes on certain areas of the head as you know, actually showed a peak on a graph from visual stimulation.  On a none HPPD person that slope peak from the stimulation decreases and disapears, flatens out and goes to zero.  My scan showed the same thing but then even after the peak zeroed out another peak appeared and also eventually zeroed out.  The doc told me that was evidence that the image stayed.  Afterimages when the stimulas was removed.

  8. I do not know what to say about surgery. I wanted to add that the MRI's and qEEG are not scary. I had both. A couple or three MRI's. They will not show anything if a person only has HPPD. The qEEG did show the activity that was responsible for afterimages and also from what area of the brain it originated.
