  1. I got hppd from 25c. anyway,if i stare at disturbing surfaces,i start to hallucinate like i did on that substance, but without the "psychedelic mindset". hallucinations are exactly same,in same pattern and resemble the substance.

do you also have this? If i stare at them, like something in my brain activates and i hallucinate.

other than that i have textbook hppd symptoms. did you had this? how long did this took for you to fade away?

  2. When i was younger, i would take a mid-day nap with the sun shining thru the window. When I would wake up and open my eyes, everything looked green. Because i was being exposed to the redness of the light shining thru my eyelids.

You may have some psychiatric issues before hppd.....but may not be very serious.

same would happen to me. also colours would look "less interesting" for a minute or two.

  3. qaiphyx i have had pretty bad anxiety since i was born,i have avoidant personality disorder and many other stuff. i beat it ,i think thats why i don't have hppd anxiety too. you just have to adjust your mindset. if you do that, anxiety fades away. first thing i did was accepting that i create the anxiety not something else. you consciously do it,not subconsciously.

i have full blown hallucinations like LSD when i stare at walls and surfaces like that. dealing with anxiety is almost always the same,be it a personality disorder, post traumatic or hppd. it is hard to not give a crap about something constantly happening but you have to.

  4. I disagree that most make a full recovery, I feel that most dont, I believe that alot do get better, but so do stroke victims, just their damage is much more extreme and recovery for them is limited. In HPPD it seems very localized to specific sections of the brain dealing with 5ht2a receptors. My DR/DP, and visual snow is gone, I never get it anymore, and my balance has returned, but my anxiety is still there, any contact with to many stimulants makes it pretty bad. So even though yes it is better, its not a full recovery. But I think that most at the point where I am at would say they have recovered.

do you still have visuals / hallucinations and other stuff? I've always had anxiety(hppd like) after using stimulants(even non stimulants / stim likes like atomoxetine , modafinil)

perhaps your anxiety is something like PTSD,exposure to HPPD for long time is kinda traumatic.

  5. All the hppd symptoms i've experiencing(i experience only visuals, nothing more, nothing less), i was able to mimic them before HPPD.

for example, close your eyes so you can just barely see the light, and there is starbusting.

place your finger to your eyelid, just slide it to left or right, and there is double vision.

CEV's appear when you are changing the light of the environment in a short period of time while your eyes are closed(ever put your head on car window? sometimes sun hits your eyes and you see "red" and when it goes away you will have cev,if it happens like 2-3 times)

i remember hallucinating when i was a kid,it happened when i stared at walls. i was like 2 i think. it also happened when i looked at wood , but it doesn't happen with HPPD now which is strange.

halos around objects was always there,i only noticed them when i was drug, under opoids(after surgery) or very tired.

i've also experienced the thing with moving objects on your peripheral vision when i was full of anxiety, talking in public etc.

i don't experience anything else,no change in colours,no dp/dr. i think DP/DR happens because of anxiety but i am not a psychiatrist after all.i think most of the HPPD is anxiety. rest of it didn't cause any problems so far. my marksmanship is better,i have no problem studying or video games,my thinking and mindset is the same as before if not better.

  6. I highly doubt its brain damage. And there are reports of people who have fully recovered, their numbers would be very very low if it caused brain damage. I am thinking of some kind of change which could be reversed in 5ht2a receptors.

after getting HPPD,my iq scores,reflexes,eye-hand coordination stays the same. if i focus i don't even notice i got HPPD unless i stare at empty surfaces or walls. I still get LSD like visuals if i do it,it feels like i am stuck at the last stage of trip. I am thinking of some sort of chemical change.

I never had DP/DR,maybe it is because i am very introverted and materialistic, but sometimes i can't sleep at nights alone. I still got hope that my brain will fix it on its own, some days it is like 80% gone,on others it is worse. never got as bad as first day though,it's been a month since i got it. I am giving it 2 years max,i will post there if i heal completely.

I am going to take benzos next week or so,probably 4-5 times a week.not that i feel anxiety but i am entering an university exam, any distraction that happens in exam time could possibly ruin my life so i want it under control this year.

i've found these. seems like some people can't recover from HPPD or it takes longer. Perhaps it has to do with genetics or amount of drugs that has been used?

  7. Hey. I am having hard time sleeping with HPPD so i take hydroxisine before sleep. It is working pretty good. But visual disturbances make me unable to focus to my work(studying for uni exam). Which drug will help with visual disturbances? Is xanax good? How long do their effects last, and what should be the dosage?. I don't want to get addicted , but scoring high is my goal. If i get addicted i can always take a year off in university after getting for rehab.

  8. i don't have any problems with stress. i can't sleep because of closed eye visuals. my sleep quality is pretty good, better than average i'd say. but falling asleep is the hard part. doctor offered to try atarax(hydroxyzine) first,if it doesn't work, she'll put me on xanax i think.

  9. its been like 10 days,i didn't do any drugs and won't do anything again but when i focus them i feel like coming up and it feels like day1. when i ignore them they seem to go away completely.

yesterday i felt like normal until night and i couldn't sleep ,now it feels bad.

  10. Are you a smoker BTW?

nah never smoked anything in my life,i don't plan to do it later.

i kinda tripped when i closed my eyes today and if i stare something hppd becomes obvious. i sweat a lot,and can't stand closed eye visuals, can't fall asleep because of them. i have trouble staying alone at home or any other place. i always want someone near me. thats the exact opposite of who i was,i always wanted to be away from people

  11. i doubt creatine will have any effects on hppd. maybe fat burning supplements might have some effects because they are similiar to stimulants. clenbuterol, salbutamol and AnimalPaks whatever that contains stimulants.

i used a lot of steroids before i got hppd(not saying "abused" because they are legal in here.) and i doubt they will have any effects on you. i also doubt their neurological effects, even if they do they are very minimal.

so creatine is fine, just use it and don't worry nothing will happen. it is usually stimulants which cause problems with HPPD because it is much easier to focus, and your brain pays more than enough attention to visuals.

  12. you don't have it bad. Seeing skulls was actually something that i have seen and whenever i did, things were not that bad. Once things start running at 1 or 2 frames per second and a giant bumble bee is chasing you around: then you've got it bad.

yeah i am glad i don't have it that bad.i just want to sleep easily like i used to,other than that everything is okay.

  13. It differ a lot from person to person. What are your symptoms?

Walls with patterns(because of painting) move if i focus them. Reading is a bit harder, i had perfect vision now its like 0.25 in each eye. Sometimes i see things like rainbows on the wall, and they act like a light which was on water, just like when sunshine hits the sea. these don't concern me.

other than that i've horrible closed eye visions, which trigger normal visions too. when i try to sleep they disturb me because i am used to sleep in "black and blank" eye vision, and if i open my eyes i immediately start to hallucinate like i focus.

I've also noticed that objects appear in front of my eye when i close my eyes, just like when you look at the lamp, and close your eyes you'll notice a black/blue thing that is in the shape of light. That randomly happens sometimes with no shape, but they're rather small.

and unlike before, after using 4-5 hours of pc,screen gets much brighter and i have to quit using pc.

I don't think it is really bad i'd enjoy it if i wasn't busy. University exam is coming soon,i have to study hard(like 3-4 hours a day now,7-8 when its closer) and i am afraid that it might disturb me and cause a failure, but i think its unlikely.

Oh and yesterday, for the first time, i've seen the moving wall resemble an image. It resembled a skull, but i wanted it to resemble that because it looked like it. so i think i've got some control on them, but nevertheless it is HPPD.
