Charlie22 Posted January 1 Report Posted January 1 (edited) Hi I am here to ask if anyone has experience of having flashbacks many many years after quitting? My husband had bad flashbacks when he quit drugs 25 years ago but they completely disappeared after a while. In the last year he has started having them again just out of the blue. We don't really know why but could it be a stress response? Has anyone else experienced this or heard of it happening before? I don't know anything about HPPD but it seems very similar to what he is experiencing. Thanks in advance Edited January 1 by Charlie22
Spartan Posted January 1 Report Posted January 1 (edited) Thanks for sharing Hppd 2 is constant , while flash back are temporarily. To me sounds possibly stress induced, or any stimulants he might be taking ? Or possibly lack of sleep ? Etc Would do best to incorporate relaxation into his lifestyle, breathing yoga. Lifestyle modification. There are many styles . Also could also count your blessings he does not have hppd. Emdr therapy could be an option too. Possibly research effective relaxation tequnices and incorporate them into your lifestyle. Nlp can be good learning how to manage his own state etc See if you can msp the trigger. Mindfulness. Them give it up. Once you are aware of it you can drop it. Hope this is helpful for a beginning I'm fucked out of my brain tho I still reach out to do my best to help others Edited January 1 by Spartan
