Schizophrenia’s Unique Brain Network Identified

"A new study has identified a distinct brain network connecting areas of atrophy associated with schizophrenia, offering a unified view of its neuroanatomy. By analyzing data from over 90 studies and more than 8,000 participants, researchers created an atrophy connectivity map that overlaps with regions linked to schizophrenia, such as the insula and hippocampus.

This network remained consistent across stages and symptoms of the disease and was distinct from other psychiatric or neurological conditions. These findings could guide future personalized treatments and a clinical trial targeting this network with transcranial magnetic stimulation."

 

I hope a unique network like this could be identified specifically for HPPD and/or Visual Snow one day. But if something else works I'll take that too lol.

Good news is that they are trying rTMS for solving that problem too. That's exactly the direction where we are going with HPPD/VSS too, neuromodulation.
