mth97
Hi! My name is Madison and I've had HPPD for 1 year now. It has improved incredibly with the right medications and changes in lifestyle, but I still suffer from it everyday. I am a documentarian and animator and want to accurately depict the struggles and stories of people who deal with HPPD. I think the best way to depict the lives of those who have HPPD is through the eyes of someone who has it as well, instead of someone who may or may not sympathize with those who have HPPD. My goal is to spread awareness through personal anecdotes, poems, visual representation through animation, interview, and sound to make a documentary. I am seeking out a large variety of people-- those who were just diagnosed(or self diagnosed), those who are fully recovered, those who have had it for years, and those who are professionals/doctors/knowledgeable about HPPD. I have a close relationship with my doctor who worked under Dr. Henry Abraham so hopefully I could interview him as well. This project I expect to take over the span of 2-3 years. I really want to make it the best that it could be. If you are interested at all in making this happen, whether you are willing to be interviewed (even with your face blurred out to hide your identity), or if you want to share your writing/send audio of you reading it over, or any way that you feel like you can contribute would be fantastic. I am willing to travel far to capture footage (right now I am based in the east coast). Please either comment or message me if you are interested; our stories need to be told. 1
Jay1
Cool idea... It's a tricky one for me as the anonymity thing always worries me, even with the blurred out face. I wonder if the whole interview could be animated too? It would need to be done in a way that didn't give it a cartoon edge, but could potential be the answer to the anonymity issue. If that might work. I can film myself talking about my experience (I have a fuji xt3 and some lighting) and you could use that as a source of animation. mth97
Jay, thank you so much for your interest and being willing to film yourself! That is a great start for the documentary and I really appreciate you responding. In terms of other types of interview, I'm also seeking out those who may be comfortable showing their face. The documentary really all depends on how many people are willing to share their story and the way in which they want to share it. One of the things that I'm best at is something called rotoscoping, which is tracing over each frame of a video so that it produces a realistic animation (this was the method in the music video Take on Me). If I were taking the rotoscoping approach, I could trace everything except for the details of the face. So far, I've only had one person message me who is interested, but I really hope that people can see how much this documentary could help the public better understand and empathize with what we go through day to day. I'm guessing people may not be responding because of the anonymity issue, but even if people are willing to share their writing and read over it, I could change the pitch of their voice and make an animation that can visually represent what they are saying. Is there anyway to pin this post so more people see it? I really think this documentary could end up making a difference in terms of awareness and empathy towards people with HPPD. If certain people really respond to it, more research could be done.

mth97
Exciting news! I've reached out to Dr. Henry Abraham (for those of you who don't know him, he was the lead researcher of HPPD who also coined the term and put it in the DSM) and he would like to be a part of this documentary. I'm planning on interviewing him during the winter and will be taking a trip down to Florida. If anyone in the US is on the way (East coast between Virginia and Florida) I would love to stop by and capture video and interview if anyone is willing! (Reminder that all identities can be hidden to protect you). I am so excited that Dr. Abraham will be a part of this and can take this documentary to the next level. Again, if anyone is interested in being a part of this whether it is interview, sharing your artwork, sharing writing, voice recordings-- ANYTHING do not hesitate to reach out!

LucidStormloader
Im an old poster, Lucid was active from 98-2012 i think somewhat?Did i get banned>? i dont fuckin remember . i was and still am tho if i see it.. call it...bs, but im not always right. look man youve had HPPD for a year? all credit do and if you go think you are all the best ill even help..shit i think i know more then 99.9% due to history of the disorder after a year or 2 in message boards and i wasnt wrong 70% of the time. but lesson one. HPPD is PERMAFRY dude ive had since i was fucking 13, im 3fn6 now. Gluck just dont ... give any credit, to that asshole. Cast of characters... DR abrahm is a malicious $ fiend whopreaching against drugs so... he coined the DSM of permafry.. demonizing drugs. (Sry PDOC its addictive cause it fucking works for me, go fuck your antipsychotics THEY DO NOTHING! SSRI's Placebo! Benzodiazipines (the least powerful of addictive psychoactive drugs and dosent really get you high for that long, im sure power of suggestion has a hell of alot to do with my daily benzo- use Etizolam these days. yes LSD can fuck your mind up, thx geniius ... that was kinda the point. all ive ever seen outta him is qEEG tests which are basic Pseudo-science pretty much , dosent do a damn thing for patients but give them false hope, falsle diagnois of hppd cause look, due only knows it exists cause people report suffering from it(like all psychiatric disorders the PATIENT knows more then the Doctor, you think hes done LSD? shit can you imagine describeinng its effects if you really ever got off on it? (its not rare for people to get nowhere near my HPPD visuals after eating a 10strip thats potent enough to floor me.) people buy plane tickets cause noone treats HPPD, nor the worst parts of it.. the anxiety etc that comes with it, and anyone with HPPD related panic disorder or ptsd would never do , so they just basicly get tossed a buncha nonsence when they probly DONT EVEN HAVE HPPD , but now they got a diagnosis to blame their issues on so they can never find real help. sry man im sounding like a dick but that mother fucker ...am i the only one that sees nothing but BS , i mean the guy writes antidrug books for at-risk individuals (teenagers) and not once has he made a you tube video to spread awareness lol eat some lsd-25 so you know WTF YOUR TALKIN ABOUT DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH MEDICAL INFORMATION FOR HPPD THAT COULD BE AQUIRED IF HE ATE like 50mics man... the same as one who is treating schizophrenia or some shit could for the disorder if they could walk in the mind of the suffering for 12-16hrs at RISK OF DEATH fuck benign HPPD when we get down to it... PROMOTE HPPD AWARENESS , DO NOT PROMOTE THAT INSIDIOUS LUCKY TO GET THE FIRST HPPD PATIENT AND FUCKING MAKE CAREER OUT OF "Patients" BY SEEING THE MONEY IN ANTIDRUG SHIT Fuck.. IM SURE ATLEAST THOSE LSD BURN OUTS WILL BUY MY BOOK DR ABRAHM Peace bro, i ramble ..im not being hostile toward you . something inside me really hates that "doctor" id call him more of a therapist Edited January 11, 2020 by LucidStormloader
Guest
I’ve got footage from the other documentary which needs editing. Anyone interested, please PM me. The six minutes that was assembled is great but there’s so much more film, enough to make a full length feature.

BOB98
I could help. Got full blown hppd when I was 21 and am now 56 with very slight hppd but it never went completely away. The shit destroyed my life. It just wears you down. I could write a book hppd. I never knew what it was until I was in my 40s, so i just accepted it and that's how i survived. mth97
Hey guys! I’ve teamed up with other members of this group to work on a larger documentary that’s not only including stories from people who have HPPD, but also touching on some of the research that’s going on right now. We are still looking for people to share their stories. Through this platform: https://hppd.typeform.com/to/hDPU0j?s=R Your answers can be completely anonymous if you choose and you also have the option to tell your story with video or just audio. This would be incredibly helpful! I hope everyone is doing okay. I’m always here to talk

Ben 91
Hi, I am interested in something like this. I have had hppd for 12 years and am willing to share. I have some concerns that maybe you can put at ease Mainly, what is the message you want to tell? is it anti-drug? I really don't want to be part of a narrative that I don't belive in. This is my main concern because as you said you have only had hppd for a year and for me the first 1-2 years where the worst as it's like the transition period between how you used to visualize the world to how you do now. This was super scary for me and I hated it, and that concerns me because if you are hating how this thing has changed you, then surly that will show in your documentry. B But that being said I am interested in finding out more about this project. So let me know
