Sammywalker2009
Hello fellow hppder's I've had hppd for going on 18 months now caused from a single foolish night of indulgence 1 gram of MDMA alcohol and weed first time I'd ever done MDMA and foolishly took too much had about 600mg in total and probes done 300mg straight up anyway had the most extreme experience I'm guessing the MDMA o had was cut with some acid as the hallucinations I got were out of this world literally I was in a pitch black park but felt like I was in another universe of spirits that was all good however on the come down went home at 6 In the morning still tripping however my mind had convinced myself that what I was seeing was real now and I wasn't hallucinating anymore which made the experience all the more scary I had electric spiders coming under the door thousands of them all attacking ne with electric shocks and creating and army of machines all sort of invisible looking I was a wreck I thought I was spontaneously combusting (setting on fire from inside) didn't sleep for 3 days and had a week long comedown anyway it's been 18 months from the extremeness of that week and I still suffer with Visual snow this being the worse Floaters Sensitivity to light also very bad After images Starbursts DR I've found taking my mind off it the best help especially for DR but in any anxious inducing situation the DR hits me any ideas Also book reading has helped with it maybe not sure exercise was helping until I got a hiatus hernia which I'm waiting to have an operation on. I'm determined to beat this or at least have a dramatic decrease in visuals through any means any advice you guys ? Thanks Sammy :-)
Sammywalker2009
Oh and btw guys i have pretty much gone t total was never a heavy drug user would smoke some weed every now and again pretty much completely stopped and only drunk about 10 times this year whenever I smoke or drunk the hppd got worse for a day or two then leveled out so never thought that it makes it worse but maybe prevents recovery any thoughts ? Sorry for the length of all this
Monkey_magic
yeah, drink and nicotine (i feel) dont make it (hppd) worse but certainly dont help with full recovery which is what you want. and youl be worse in every symptom for up to a week if you have a big binge session on drink. so best not if youve got the willpower not too. 18 months is a fair time but in essence it still is early days for you in the grand scheme of it. (ive had it 15 years in differing degrees). but i didnt completely abstain from all drink or drugs, i did stay away from hallucinagens cos i couldnt handle them for obvious reasons but drinking and the very occasional joint/bag of speed stopped my recovery process. keep doing what your doing mate, eat well, sleep well, and have hope!! Sammywalker2009
Thanks mate 15 years is a hell of a time I have pretty much got to the stage where I've accepted it now so i haven't let it get me depressed lifes way too short and there's still so much I want to achieve fuck letting this ruin it anymore I still want to do everything possible to help cure this or make it go away which in essence has proved to be good as I have stopped all drug use cut back on alcohol to literally once in a blue moon and practice very healthy living ie exercise and good food and sleep actually set me on a path of becoming a personal trainer was going to start yoga and wrestling to also help combat this shit until I got ill with a stomach problem which I'm waiting to have an op for then I can start exercising again also I found reading has helped a great deal especially with DR
Monkey_magic
yeah, i read like a motherfucker. and hitting the gym and targeting muscles specifically helps with depersonalisation loads i think. and cardio for blood flow to the brain. yeah, 15 years but 15 years of differing degrees of it, a few relapses, but a few moments of clarity in there as well. Sammywalker2009
Would you say it's slowly decreased over time or you've just woke up one day and visuals are better I find when I'm ill visuals seem 10x worse
mgrade
It can be either a roller coaster or a crap shoot.............. but in time hopefully everything will start smoothing out
Monkey_magic
Visuals are always there. Just gets better or worse depending what my brain fancies getting up to. For all the self help bit I'm not really in control as much as I'd like to be. -mg's right, it's a roller coaster. But you learn to not get adrenalined up at the small loops and do your best to shut your eyes and ignore the big loops. I do anyway. Depends on your level of hppd I spose. Sammywalker2009
I definitely feel very positive about beating this problem and I think positivity is definitely a key role I heard of a stud which proved people recovering from illnesses or operations who had something to look forward to would recover quicker than those who didn't as soon as I get my stomach op done and out the way I plan to start exercising again regularly healthy diet full of the good supps vits and minerals also try meditation and yoga and am going to find a good phsychiatrist or neurologist who will try me on different meds even if I have to explain to the doctors my symptoms to treat more than my condition
Duster
Right after the onset I seeked for medical help a lot. After a so called top-specialist and several doctors I really gave up on it. I realized it's only waste of energy to tell the same story over and over again and nobody takes you seriously enough. How about you guys, do you have problems with your night vision? In my case it's difficult to see details when the place is lit badly or there's not any light at all. Adapting to the darkness pisses me off sometimes. If I was a rich man, I would donate million dollars for the researching study. You never know what could happen if M. Zuckerberg got this.. Back to the reality. Let's concentrate on the things we can control somehow and those that make us feel better. What ever it takes.
mgrade
Nightvision is a real problem for me. I was walking down the street tonight and it was dark and i tried to focus in on this girl's face and it was a total blur
Sammywalker2009
Yeah nighttime sucks especially when this shot flares up when I'm driving headlights from other cars are a nightmare and its not too bad if there's some lighting like walking down a street but if Im walking through a dark lane or park somewhere like that it's like I'm blind lol yeah Im going to go to doctors and try and get them to treat the symptoms more than the condition itself just outright ask then to try me on different medications if they refuse I'll just keep trying till I find a doc who will
Sammywalker2009
Do you guys find you visual snow to be really thick I generally see mine more when I'm looking at things such as a plain wall the sky if I'm looking at patterns or something with more detail I don't notice it as much

Sammywalker2009
Oh pretty recently really I've had a lot of other shit going on so what with being so pre occupied I really haven't noticed it too much for me now the main issue is the visuals if I could get rid of the visual snow and light sensitivity I'd class myself as hppd free I remember when I first had this the first month or two was hell

Sammywalker2009
#1 Treatment for HPPD: Sunglasses. [seriously, day and night] Yeah I do use sunglasses but I find when I wear sunglasses if I take them off everything seems 10xs as bright and worse than if I don't wear them. Do sunglasses help your eyes in the long run would you say ?
mgrade
Good question. Do you have light eyes?
Sammywalker2009
Yeah man I have blue eyes I was reading there's these supplements you can buy to help with light sensitivity which I may try not sure how successful it will be though as this isn't a problem with the eyes but more with the brain and electricity sometimes when I close my eyes it's almost like I can see electric currents not jus VS and when I close my eyes and look at the sun It like flashes slowly like all lines as if I can see all the lines on my eyeball lol it's weird the symptoms of this stuff can be hard to describe lol
mgrade
shit, when i look in the sky i see water gliders, amoebas, and mexican jumping beans, lol I noticed something weird though: when i would leave the light on in the hall and i was laying down in my darkish room with the door open, and opened my eyes from having them closed, i was seeing an ~8Hz cycle/strobe. Do think this is weird? ----------------- Light eyes are cumulatively susceptible to cataracts [..IDK if that relates at all, lol]
Sammywalker2009
Yeah sometimes when I have been watching tv or on my phone then turn all the lights off it's as if I'm seeing strobe lighting it's all flashing and when I look at the sky sometimes it's like I can see fireflies but they are bright White in light it's so weird
