Are you on any other medications? Have there been any other changes in your life or medical treatment? Did you get vaccinated?(not recommending it by the way). Heart rate in the 100s is quite high if that's sedentary readings, mine was only that high for a few weeks after getting the condition. Do you have any other medical conditions? What's your diet like? Do you have any palpitations/skipped heart beats?

  2. I did not get vaccinated ye. It seems I’ve been getting worse though so I might try to check myself in somewhere. I think this might be it. It sucks, a few months ago this shot was never on my mind.

im not on any other meds. Was on a bunch of vitamins I stopped taking, riboflavin makes. Shit worse temporarily.

The doctor gave me Prozac which I won’t take. They gave me hydroxyzine which I used to take but I’ve only taken it a couple times this time and then stopped. And they gave me lorazepam which I took twice.

im pretty much stuck in bed, screens and daylight are too much to handle. Sorry everyone, I just know how grim the chance of recovery is.

im holding out hope, but honestly, I feel mentally ill for the first time. Disconnected from friends and family. I still love them but it’s hard to express. I feel like I’m in shock. Actually this was first symptom from the suda, everything else for worse a few weeks later. I’ve felt like I was in a fog. At first I thought it was from covid. Anyway, holding out hope here in bed.

  3. It’s just strange because I have t felt this bad since I first got the condition. I felt just like everyone else eventually. After the Sudafed m I just started getting so scared. Maybe i just need to work myself through this. I had covid at the same time, and my tachycardia kept my heart in the 100s more or less for about a month.

it’s annoying because for some reason I feel like I can’t get joy out of my usual activities, which is what I usually did to relax. To tell you the truth before this I barely ever thought about it in years.

In regards to the ocd, runs in my family.

I really do feel like if I could actually relax everything would die down. But it’s hard when I can find joy in distractions.

This is all new to me, since up until recently I felt no more anxiety than before the molly .

to tell the truth. I just want to get back to how I was then so I can resume school

In a few weeks is possible, but it could take longer, the only reason I say that is the duration since you last took sudafed.

Interestingly enough the OCD may even be a manifestation of the HPPD. HPPD appears to be somewhat similar in fashion with other mental disorders and derangements. Some HPPD patients suffer from what I would call pseudo schizophrenic related issues like paranoia, it even appears to blunt social behaviors as well, a lot of symptoms that though mild, still appear, and seem to be relatively unnoticed by usual HPPD patients. It is very difficult to relax with HPPD, for sure, sometimes the anxiety that is HPPD driven, is quite overwhelming. Some people may think the anxiety is driven by the visuals, etc, however it appears to be a symptom direct from HPPD itself. Definitely though negative thoughts can accelerate other symptoms, not that they are the cause, but rather can invoke bodily survival reactions, which definitely can make symptoms worse, then sufferers can soon find themselves in a cascading spiral of anxiety, fear, and dread as you put it.

I too suffer from OCD and what's really helped me is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and good old SSRIs.  I know some people say the meds exacerbate HPPD symptoms but for me they really help with the intrusive thoughts, anxiety and this in turn keeps the HPPD at bay.  Everyone's different but remember, OCD on its own can be very debilitating, and perhaps what you're experiencing is more related to this than the sudafed.  For me my OCD fear is about being poisoned in a way that affects cognition, I have had multiple experiences where I had some very minor exposure to chemicals (household stuff etc..) and the following months I actually felt cognitive deficits!  The level of exposure made this essentially impossible but that didn't stop the fear or perception that my mind was affected.  This was purely OCD.  Over time with active therapy the issue goes away. One benefit of the SSRI is that the episodes duration is much shorter, one that would last a few months now only lasts a few days or weeks.  Anyway, hang in there.

If you are not actively seeing someone for your OCD I high encourage you to do so! Like I said it can be debilitating depending upon the severity and there are good options that can greatly improve quality of life.

    Take Care,

    Nick

  4. Thanks, do you think it’s likely if I can get myself in a good headspace for a few weeks I can get back to baseline?

An interesting tidbit, I developed ocd as a coping mech for my symptoms. Since this accident my ocd has manifested in different ways. Mostly intrusive thoughts of dread. Come to think of it j have not actually “relaxed” since then. This may be why symptoms seem worse. Just a thought.

thanks for you help. I’m a bit more hopeful now.

Hopefully I can get back to school next fall.

Nah, pseudoephedrine may exasperate the symptoms of HPPD, but it cant cause them, so you're safe there. HPPD is really sensitive though.

Definitely, its possible. Anxiety has really fine lines, I'm not saying its mental, cause I've heard that and I know HPPD isn't mental, but our thoughts can exasperate HPPD, its true. People still dont understand that its unnatural anxiety. Two months is longer than I would expect for returning to baselines. Are you still drinking the green tea everyday? Have you changed anything in your normal routine?

Honestly your doctor is probably a dipshit, but I will agree its unlikely that sudafed has had this dramatic and long term of and effect. Its not impossible, just, improbable.

  6. So I’m eating a lot healthier. Lost about 30 pounds. Lots of vitamins and just started to try that treatment you were talking about. I switched out the green tea for hibiscus.

the thing is I’ve just felt so depressed since then. Kind of depersonalized too and I’m scared to admit that. I spend literally all day thinking about the Sudafed and how scared I was when it was happening and I got the tremors.

To tell the truth, it almost feels like when I first got this issue years ago. I get the symptoms that I had back then ( I was a wreck for about a year and the vs was much worse as well as other symptoms that went away after a long time of being calm). I was 17 then and I’m 24 now.

two years ago I had a depressive episode which made my symptoms worse for a month, but nothing like this

Technically Sudafed is nothing like MDMA, its active ingredient is pseudoephedrine, and its chemically similar to ephedrine I suppose. What I would personally guess is you have jarred your neurons so to speak, so they will probably be on high alert for a while, but I would assume its more than likely with a little time they will calm back down again. Also quit doing fucking drugs, jesus christ what is wrong with people that get HPPD. Its nature literally screaming in your face "dont do drugs"

Calming down is the best way to start the process, maybe try some chamomile tea to help relax. I'd say in a couple weeks should be fine. When did you last take sudafed?

  8. Please I know I sound like a broke record, but I really am hoping to find someone who knows what’s going on.  I have been living with this disease for years- symptoms never fully went away but got to the point I could ignore it. A couple months ago the know nothing nurse at cit md told me to take Sudafed and it was like reliving the experience. Symptoms that have been long gone have returned. I wake up every day with anxiety, can barley go outside. Symptoms are just generally worse and I’m having a. Hard time cognitiveley which ha s ever been one of my symptoms. Please does anyone know about this? I can wait for a recovery. But i need to know if it’s gonna happen or if I’ve fucked my self up for food this time.

I was thinking becuAuse the suda is an amph like moll that is why. My doctor said no way because it’s not a real amph

reallty looking for hope, I just need to get back to how I was in the beginning of March

Thjs sucks because I have smoked weed, done coke and drank and non of that made this worse for more than a couple hour

  9. It could be a phycological response in either case. Something about cannabis or Sudafed respectivley reminds the user of a certain experience, thus activating flight or fight in a negative way.

  10. Was doing fine until my doctor told me to take Sudafed for a stuffy nose. Had a severely bad reaction, brain fog/tachycardia and symptoms worsened.

Never had brain fog as a symptom of the condition.

by the way my version is the mdma induced.

been severely depressed for 3 months. Before that was living with the condition for several years and was doing great. Can I get back to my baseline? Feeling like shit, spaced out.
